Energy recovery of waste
První část této práce shrnuje problémy vyplývající z nadměrné produkce odpadů a porovnává různé způsoby a technologie jeho zneškodnění. Druhá část práce se zaměřuje na jednu z těchto možností a to spalování odpadů s následným využitím energie. Jsou zde probrána specifika a možnosti této technologie a následně je popsán její stav v České republice.The first part of this thesis sums up problems arising from waste production and compares different ways and technologies of waste treatment. Second part of this thesis focuses on one of these ways, on the incineration of waste with energy recovery. It discusses specifics and possibilities of this technology and describe current situation in the Czech Republic.

Testing technology on-the-fly instrument LaserTRACER
Diplomová práce popisuje realizaci a testování technologie on-the-fly pomocí samonaváděcího interferometru. Touto metodou je možné uskutečnit měření s větším množstvím měřených bodů a snížení času kalibrace obráběcího stroje. Naměřené kalibrační a verifikační hodnoty parametrů stroje, časy a další údaje této metody jsou srovnávány s výsledky konvenční metody trigger. Ke zhodnocení kvality volumetrických kompenzací vytvořených z kalibračních hodnot je využito verifikačního testu kruhové interpolace.This diploma thesis describes realization and testing on-the-fly measurement using tracking interferometer. This measurement enables to achieve higher amount of measured points and decrease time of machine tool calibration. Calibration and verification values of machine parameters, as well as time of measurement and other details of this method are compared with results of conventional method called trigger. To evaluate the quality of volumetric compensation created from calibration values, we use verification measurement of circular interpolation.

V praktické části je analyzován současný stav, popis penzionu a okolí, vliv krize na ubytování. Návrhová část vyčísluje náklady projektu, předpovídá tržby a průměrnou cenu za ubytování. Dále práce hodnotí efektivnost investice pomocí čisté současné hodnoty a doby návratnosti.The Diploma Thesis deals with processing a business plan for the reconstruction of a family house into a guest-house in the micro-region Rožnovsko in a town called Zubří. The theoretical part includes investment decisions, a business plan, methods of economic evaluation of investments and the concept of tourism. The practical part contains an analysis of current status, a description of the guest-house and its surroundings, the impact of the crisis on accommodation. The proposal part quantifies the cost of the project, predicts sales and an average price for accommodation. The Thesis also evaluates the efficiency of investments through the use of net present value and payback period.
New methods in collision of bodies analysis
summary:The widely used method for solution of impacts of bodies, called the penalty method, is based on the contact force proportional to the length of the interpenetration of bodies. This method is regarded as unsatisfactory by the authors of this contribution, because of an inaccurate fulfillment of the energy conservation law and violation of the natural demand of impenetrability of bodies. Two non-traditional methods for the solution of impacts of bodies satisfy these demands exactly, or approximately, but much better than the penalty method. Namely the energy method exactly satisfies the conservation of energy law, whereas the kinematic method exactly satisfies the condition of impenetrability of bodies. Both these methods are superior in comparison with the penalty method, which is demonstrated by the results of several numerical examples
One-dimensional photonic crystal for Bloch surface waves and radiation modes-based sensing
We report on a one-dimensional photonic crystal (1DPhC) represented by a multilayer structure used for a surface plasmon-like sensing based on Bloch surface waves and radiation modes employing a structure comprising a glass substrate and four bilayers of TiO2/SiO2 with a termination layer of TiO2. We model the reflectance responses in the Kretschmann configuration with a coupling prism made of BK7 glass and express the reflectances for both (s and p) polarizations in the spectral domain for various angles of incidence to show that a sharp dip associated with the Bloch surface wave (BSW) excitation is obtained in p polarization when an external medium (analyte) is air. For s-polarized wave BSW is not excited and a shallow dip associated with the guided mode excitation is obtained for a liquid analyte (water). For decreasing angle of incidence, the dip depth is substantially increased, and resonance thus obtained is comparable in magnitude with resonance commonly exhibited by SPR-based sensors. In addition, we revealed that the resonances in s-polarization are obtained for other analytes. The surface plasmon-like sensing concept was verified experimentally in the Kretschmann configuration for the guided mode transformed into the radiation mode with a negative and constant sensitivity of -169 nm/RIU, and a detection limit of 5.9 x 10(-5) RIU.Web of Science9104022400
Azimuthal anisotropy of charged jet production in root s(NN)=2.76 TeV Pb-Pb collisions
We present measurements of the azimuthal dependence of charged jet production in central and semi-central root s(NN) = 2.76 TeV Pb-Pb collisions with respect to the second harmonic event plane, quantified as nu(ch)(2) (jet). Jet finding is performed employing the anti-k(T) algorithm with a resolution parameter R = 0.2 using charged tracks from the ALICE tracking system. The contribution of the azimuthal anisotropy of the underlying event is taken into account event-by-event. The remaining (statistical) region-to-region fluctuations are removed on an ensemble basis by unfolding the jet spectra for different event plane orientations independently. Significant non-zero nu(ch)(2) (jet) is observed in semi-central collisions (30-50% centrality) for 20 <p(T)(ch) (jet) <90 GeV/c. The azimuthal dependence of the charged jet production is similar to the dependence observed for jets comprising both charged and neutral fragments, and compatible with measurements of the nu(2) of single charged particles at high p(T). Good agreement between the data and predictions from JEWEL, an event generator simulating parton shower evolution in the presence of a dense QCD medium, is found in semi-central collisions.
