    Carbono orgânico e agregação do solo em áreas sob diferentes densidades de plantio da cultura da bananeira/ Organic carbon and soil aggregation in banana planting areas under different cropping densities

     A banana é uma das frutas mais consumidas in natura no Brasil.  Apesar de vários estudos terem sido realizados avaliando as modificações nos atributos químicos do solo em áreas cultivadas com bananeira, poucos são aqueles em que atributos físicos do solo são mensurados, bem como as modificações no estoque de carbono orgânico. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o efeito de diferentes densidades de plantio de banana da variedade tipo “RBS Princesa” no estoque de carbono no solo, na estabilidade e distribuição dos agregados do solo e na matéria orgânica do solo, obtida através dos fracionamentos granulométrico e químico. O estudo foi realizado em um Argissolo Amarelo, no qual foram dispostos 6 tratamentos, variando somente a densidade de plantio, com quatro repetições. Foram coletadas amostras deformadas para a determinação do carbono orgânico do solo e realização do fracionamento granulométrico. Para a avaliação da densidade do solo e da estabilidade dos agregados, foram coletadas amostras indeformadas. A estabilidade dos agregados foi determinada pelo tamisamento via úmida e via seca. Os tratamentos com maiores espaçamentos entre plantas, consequentemente menores densidades de plantio, contribuíram para um maior teor de carbono orgânico total, estabilidade dos agregados, carbono orgânico associado aos minerais e estoque de carbono orgânico associado aos minerais na camada superficial do solo. Quanto ao fracionamento químico para a classe dos macroagregados foram verificados os maiores teores de carbono na fração humina, já para as frações ácido fúlvico e ácido húmico os maiores teores foram verificados na classe dos microagregados

    Wildfire, deforestation and health in tropical rainforest areas: a scoping review protocol.

    INTRODUCTION: Wildfires and deforestation potentially have direct effects on multiple health outcomes as well as indirect consequences for climate change. Tropical rainforest areas are characterised by high rainfall, humidity and temperature, and they are predominantly found in low-income and middle-income countries. This study aims to synthesise the methods, data and health outcomes reported in scientific papers on wildfires and deforestation in these locations. METHODS AND ANALYSIS: We will carry out a scoping review according to the Joanna Briggs Institute's (JBI) manual for scoping reviews and the framework proposed by Arksey and O'Malley, and Levac et al. The search for articles was performed on 18 August 2023, in 16 electronic databases using Medical Subject Headings terms and adaptations for each database from database inception. The search for local studies will be complemented by the manual search in the list of references of the studies selected to compose this review. We screened studies written in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish. We included quantitative studies assessing any human disease outcome, hospitalisation and vital statistics in regions of tropical rainforest. We exclude qualitative studies and quantitative studies whose outcomes do not cover those of interest. The text screening was done by two independent reviewers. Subsequently, we will tabulate the data by the origin of the data source used, the methods and the main findings on health impacts of the extracted data. The results will provide descriptive statistics, along with visual representations in diagrams and tables, complemented by narrative summaries as detailed in the JBI guidelines. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION: The study does not require an ethical review as it is meta-research and uses published, deidentified secondary data sources. The submission of results for publication in a peer-reviewed journal and presentation at scientific and policymakers' conferences is expected. Productivity of cooperative in Pelalawan was highly but efficiency still low. Profit and income were highly, even liquidity of cooperative very high, and solvability was good

    Search for pair production of excited top quarks in the lepton+jets final state

    A search is performed for pair-produced spin-3/2 excited top quarks (ttˉt^*\bar{t}^*), each decaying to a top quark and a gluon. The search uses data collected with the CMS detector from pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of s\sqrt{s}=8 TeV, selecting events that have a single isolated muon or electron, an imbalance in transverse momentum, and at least six jets, of which one must be compatible with originating from the fragmentation of a b quark. The data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 inverse femtobarns, show no significant excess over standard model predictions, and provide a lower limit of 803 GeV at 95% confidence on the mass of the spin-3/2 t* quark in an extension of the Randall-Sundrum model, assuming a 100% branching fraction of its decay into a top quark and a gluon.
