On the Hybrid Extension of CTL and CTL+
The paper studies the expressivity, relative succinctness and complexity of
satisfiability for hybrid extensions of the branching-time logics CTL and CTL+
by variables. Previous complexity results show that only fragments with one
variable do have elementary complexity. It is shown that H1CTL+ and H1CTL, the
hybrid extensions with one variable of CTL+ and CTL, respectively, are
expressively equivalent but H1CTL+ is exponentially more succinct than H1CTL.
On the other hand, HCTL+, the hybrid extension of CTL with arbitrarily many
variables does not capture CTL*, as it even cannot express the simple CTL*
property EGFp. The satisfiability problem for H1CTL+ is complete for triply
exponential time, this remains true for quite weak fragments and quite strong
extensions of the logic
Liquid organic hydrogen carriers:Process design and economic analysis for manufacturing N-ethylcarbazole
This paper revisits the economics of manufacturing N-ethylcarbazole (NEC), a strong candidate for large-scale liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC) supply chains, because of its high H2 storage capacity (6 wt%), selective hydrogenation and dehydrogenation reactions, and favorable reaction enthalpy and reaction temperatures compared to other LOHC systems. Two different process routes for producing NEC from industrial chemicals are selected out of 10 possible options: one using aniline and the other using cyclohexanone and nitrobenzene as feedstock. The required capital and operational costs are estimated to determine a NEC break-even cost for a capacity of 225 ktpa. NEC break-even costs of 2.6 per kg LOHC are found for the routes. This is significantly less than the 200 MM and 0.77–0.09–$0.10 per kg H2 for a 7-day roundtrip. It is important to note that both routes rely heavily on laboratory scale data and the corresponding assumptions that stem from this limitation. Therefore, this research can serve as a guide to future experimental studies into validating the key assumptions made for this analysis.</p
On the Initial Conditions for Brane Inflation
String theory gives rise to various mechanisms to generate primordial
inflation, of which ``brane inflation'' is one of the most widely considered.
In this scenario, inflation takes place while two branes are approaching each
other, and the modulus field representing the separation between the branes
plays the role of the inflaton field. We study the phase space of initial
conditions which can lead to a sufficiently long period of cosmological
inflation, and find that taking into account the possibility of nonvanishing
initial momentum can significantly change the degree of fine tuning of the

Transport properties of strongly correlated metals:a dynamical mean-field approach
The temperature dependence of the transport properties of the metallic phase
of a frustrated Hubbard model on the hypercubic lattice at half-filling are
calculated. Dynamical mean-field theory, which maps the Hubbard model onto a
single impurity Anderson model that is solved self-consistently, and becomes
exact in the limit of large dimensionality, is used. As the temperature
increases there is a smooth crossover from coherent Fermi liquid excitations at
low temperatures to incoherent excitations at high temperatures. This crossover
leads to a non-monotonic temperature dependence for the resistance,
thermopower, and Hall coefficient, unlike in conventional metals. The
resistance smoothly increases from a quadratic temperature dependence at low
temperatures to large values which can exceed the Mott-Ioffe-Regel value, hbar
a/e^2 (where "a" is a lattice constant) associated with mean-free paths less
than a lattice constant. Further signatures of the thermal destruction of
quasiparticle excitations are a peak in the thermopower and the absence of a
Drude peak in the optical conductivity. The results presented here are relevant
to a wide range of strongly correlated metals, including transition metal
oxides, strontium ruthenates, and organic metals.Comment: 19 pages, 9 eps figure
Hall coefficient and angle-resolved photoemission in systems with strong pair fluctuations
We examine the normal-state temperature and doping dependence of the Hall
coefficient in the context of a pair-fluctuation scenario, based on a model
where itinerant electrons are hybridized with localized electron pairs via a
charge exchange term. We show that an anomalous behavior of the Hall effect,
qualitatively similar to that observed in high-Tc superconductors, can be
attributed to the non-Fermi liquid properties of the single-particle spectral
function which exhibits pseudogap features. Our calculations are based on a
dynamical mean-field procedure which relates the transport coefficients to the

Measurement of the Branching Fraction for B->eta' K and Search for B->eta'pi+
We report measurements for two-body charmless B decays with an eta' meson in
the final state. Using 11.1X10^6 BBbar pairs collected with the Belle detector,
we find BF(B^+ ->eta'K^+)=(79^+12_-11 +-9)x10^-6 and BF(B^0 ->
eta'K^0)=(55^+19_-16 +-8)x10^-6, where the first and second errors are
statistical and systematic, respectively. No signal is observed in the mode B^+
-> eta' pi^+, and we set a 90% confidence level upper limit of BF(B^+->
eta'pi^+) eta'K^+- decays is
investigated and a limit at 90% confidence level of -0.20<Acp<0.32 is obtained.Comment: Submitted to Physics Letters
Measurement of the ttbar Production Cross Section in ppbar Collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV using Lepton + Jets Events with Lifetime b-tagging
We present a measurement of the top quark pair () production cross
section () in collisions at TeV
using 230 pb of data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab
Tevatron Collider. We select events with one charged lepton (electron or muon),
missing transverse energy, and jets in the final state. We employ
lifetime-based b-jet identification techniques to further enhance the
purity of the selected sample. For a top quark mass of 175 GeV, we
measure pb, in

Search for Higgs bosons of the minimal supersymmetric standard model in p-pbar collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV
We report results from searches for neutral Higgs bosons produced in p-pbar
collisions recorded by the Dzero experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider.
We study the production of inclusive neutral Higgs boson in the tautau final
state and in association with a b quark in the btautau and bbb final states.
These results are combined to improve the sensitivity to the production of
neutral Higgs bosons in the context of the minimal supersymmetric standard
model (MSSM). The data are found to be consistent with expectation from
background processes. Upper limits on MSSM Higgs boson production are set for
Higgs boson masses ranging from 90 to 300 GeV. We exclude tanBeta>20-30 for
Higgs boson masses below 180 GeV. These are the most stringent constraints on
MSSM Higgs boson production in p-pbar collisions.Comment: Submitted to Phys. Lett.
Measurement of charm production at central rapidity in proton-proton collisions at TeV
The -differential production cross sections of the prompt (B
feed-down subtracted) charmed mesons D, D, and D in the rapidity
range , and for transverse momentum GeV/, were
measured in proton-proton collisions at TeV with the ALICE
detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The analysis exploited the hadronic
decays DK, DK, DD, and their charge conjugates, and was performed on a
nb event sample collected in 2011 with a
minimum-bias trigger. The total charm production cross section at TeV and at 7 TeV was evaluated by extrapolating to the full phase space
the -differential production cross sections at TeV
and our previous measurements at TeV. The results were compared
to existing measurements and to perturbative-QCD calculations. The fraction of
