Economics and Marketing of Aromatic Rice - A Case Study of Chhattisgarh
In recent years there has been a serious concern among the farmers, scientists, policymakers and environmentalists regarding the continuous erosion of genetic biodiversity of rice cultivars in Chhattisgarh which has traditionally been known as bowl of scented rices in central India. In view of Indiaâs potential competitiveness in aromatic rices in the international market, it is imperative to understand the dynamics of domestic trade in aromatic rice. In this study, marketing and price-spread patterns of aromatic rice in the state of Chhattisgarh have been examined. Two Graviton Production at and Hadron Hadron Colliders in the Randall-Sundrum Model
We compute the pair production cross section of two Kaluza Klein modes in the
Randall-Sundrum model at and hadron hadron colliders. These processes
are interesting because they get dominant contribution from the graviton
interaction at next to leading order. Hence they provide a nontrivial test of
the low scale gravity models. All the Feynman rules at next to leading order
are also presented. These rules may be useful for many phenomenological

Renormalization Group Invariants in the MSSM and Its Extensions
We derive one-loop renormalization group (RG) invariant observables and
analyze their phenomenological implications in the MSSM and its \mu problem
solving extensions, U(1)' model and NMSSM. We show that there exist several RG
invariants in the gauge, Yukawa and soft-breaking sectors of each model. In
general, RG invariants are highly useful for projecting experimental data to
messenger scale, for revealing correlations among the model parameters, and for
probing the mechanism that breaks supersymmetry. The Yukawa couplings and
trilinear soft terms in U(1)' model and NMSSM do not form RG invariants though
there exist approximate invariants in low tan(beta). In the NMSSM, there are no
invariants that contain the Higgs mass-squareds. We provide a comparative
analysis of RG invariants in all three models and analyze their model-building

The LamĂŠ Class of Lorenz Curves.
In this paper, the class of LamĂŠ Lorenz curves is studied. This family has the advantage of modeling inequality with a single parameter. The family has a double motivation: it can be obtain from an economic model and from simple transformations of classical Lorenz curves. The underlying cumulative distribution functions have a simple closed form, and correspond to the Singh-Maddala and Dagum distributions, which are well known in the economic literature. The Lorenz order is studied and several inequality and polarization measures are obtained, including Gini, Donaldson-Weymark-Kakwani, Pietra and Wolfson indices. Some extensions of the LamĂŠ family are obtained. Fitting and estimation methods under two different data configuration are proposed. Empirical applications with real data are given. BRG1 and BRM function antagonistically with c-MYC in adult cardiomyocytes to regulate conduction and contractility
Rationale The contractile dysfunction that underlies heart failure involves perturbations in multiple biological processes ranging from metabolism to electrophysiology. Yet the epigenetic mechanisms that are altered in this disease state have not been elucidated. SWI/SNF chromatin-remodeling complexes are plausible candidates based on mouse knockout studies demonstrating a combined requirement for the BRG1 and BRM catalytic subunits in adult cardiomyocytes. Brg1/Brm double mutants exhibit metabolic and mitochondrial defects and are not viable although their cause of death has not been ascertained. Objective To determine the cause of death of Brg1/Brm double-mutant mice, to test the hypothesis that BRG1 and BRM are required for cardiac contractility, and to identify relevant downstream target genes. Methods and results A tamoxifen-inducible gene-targeting strategy utilizing ÎąMHC-Cre-ERT was implemented to delete both SWI/SNF catalytic subunits in adult cardiomyocytes. Brg1/Brm double-mutant mice were monitored by echocardiography and electrocardiography, and they underwent rapidly progressive ventricular dysfunction including conduction defects and arrhythmias that culminated in heart failure and death within 3 weeks. Mechanistically, BRG1/BRM repressed c-Myc expression, and enforced expression of a DOX-inducible c-MYC trangene in mouse cardiomyocytes phenocopied the ventricular conduction defects observed in Brg1/Brm double mutants. BRG1/BRM and c-MYC had opposite effects on the expression of cardiac conduction genes, and the directionality was consistent with their respective loss- and gain-of-function phenotypes. To support the clinical relevance of this mechanism, BRG1/BRM occupancy was diminished at the same target genes in human heart failure cases compared to controls, and this correlated with increased c-MYC expression and decreased CX43 and SCN5A expression. Conclusion BRG1/BRM and c-MYC have an antagonistic relationship regulating the expression of cardiac conduction genes that maintain contractility, which is reminiscent of their antagonistic roles as a tumor suppressor and oncogene in cancer
Pedagogic model for Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering with quark-hadron duality
We show how quark-hadron duality can emerge for valence spin averaged
structure functions, and for the non-forward distributions of Deeply Virtual
Compton Scattering. Novel factorisations of the non-forward amplitudes are
proposed. Some implications for large angle scattering and deviations from the

The Superfluid and Conformal Phase Transitions of Two-Color QCD
The phase structure of two-color QCD is examined as a function of the
chemical potential and the number of light quark flavors. We consider effective
Lagrangians for two-color QCD containing the Goldstone excitations, spin-one
particles and negative intrinsic parity terms. We discuss the possibility of a
conformal phase transition and the enhancement of the global symmetries as the
number of flavors is increased. The effects of a quark chemical potential on
the spin-one particles and on the negative intrinsic parity terms are analyzed.
It is shown that the phase diagram that is predicted by the linearly realized
effective Lagrangian at tree-level matches exactly that predicted by chiral

MgyNi1-y(Hx) thin films deposited by magnetron co-sputtering
In this work we have synthesised thin films of MgyNi1-y(Hx) metal and metal
hydride with y between 0 and 1. The films are deposited by magnetron
co-sputtering of metallic targets of Mg and Ni. Metallic MgyNi1-y films were
deposited with pure Ar plasma while MgyNi1-yHx hydride films were deposited
reactively with 30% H2 in the Ar plasma. The depositions were done with a fixed
substrate carrier, producing films with a spatial gradient in the Mg and Ni
composition. The combinatorial method of co-sputtering gives an insight into
the phase diagram of MgyNi1-y and MgyNi1-yHx, and allows us to investigate
structural, optical and electrical properties of the resulting alloys. Our
results show that reactive sputtering gives direct deposition of metal hydride
films, with high purity in the case of Mg~2NiH~4. We have observed limited
oxidation after several months of exposure to ambient conditions. MgyNi1-y and
MgyNi1-yHx films might be applied for optical control in smart windows, optical
sensors and as a semiconducting material for photovoltaic solar cells

Search for a W' boson decaying to a bottom quark and a top quark in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV
Results are presented from a search for a W' boson using a dataset
corresponding to 5.0 inverse femtobarns of integrated luminosity collected
during 2011 by the CMS experiment at the LHC in pp collisions at sqrt(s)=7 TeV.
The W' boson is modeled as a heavy W boson, but different scenarios for the
couplings to fermions are considered, involving both left-handed and
right-handed chiral projections of the fermions, as well as an arbitrary
mixture of the two. The search is performed in the decay channel W' to t b,
leading to a final state signature with a single lepton (e, mu), missing
transverse energy, and jets, at least one of which is tagged as a b-jet. A W'
boson that couples to fermions with the same coupling constant as the W, but to
the right-handed rather than left-handed chiral projections, is excluded for
masses below 1.85 TeV at the 95% confidence level. For the first time using LHC
data, constraints on the W' gauge coupling for a set of left- and right-handed
coupling combinations have been placed. These results represent a significant
