    Exclusive semileptonic B_s decays to excited D_s mesons: Search of D_{sJ}(2317) and D_{sJ}(2460)

    Full text link
    We study the exclusive semileptonic decays B_s->D_{s0}^*\ell\bar\nu and B_s->D_{s1}^*\ell\bar\nu, where p-wave excited D_{s0}^* and D_{s1}^* states are identified with the newly observed D_{sJ}(2317) and D_{sJ}(2460) states. Within the framework of HQET the Isgur-Wise functions up to the subleading order of the heavy quark expansion are calculated by QCD sum rules. The decay rates and branching ratios are computed with the inclusion of the order of 1/m_Q corrections. We point out that the investigation of the B_s semileptonic decays to excited D_s mesons may provide some information about the nature of the new D_{sJ}^* mesons.Comment: 15 pages, 6 eps figures, RevTeX 4, accepted for publication in Phys. Semileptonic Bs ->DsJ(2460)l nu decay in QCD

    Get PDF
    Using three point QCD sum rules method, the form factors relevant to the semileptonic Bs ->DsJ (2460)l nu decay are calculated. The q2 dependence of these form factors is evaluated and compared with the heavy quark effective theory predictions. The dependence of the asymmetry parameter alpha, characterizing the polarization of DsJ meson, on q2 is studied .The branching ratio of this decay is also estimated and is shown that it can be easily detected at LHC.Comment: 21 pages, 5 figures and 1 Tabl

    Semileptonic B decays into even parity charmed mesons

    Get PDF
    By using a constituent quark model we compute the form factors relevant to semileptonic transitions of B mesons into low-lying p-wave charmed mesons. We evaluate the q^2 dependence of these form factors and compare them with other model calculations. The Isgur-Wise functions tau(1/2) and tau(3/2) are also obtained in the heavy quark limit of our results.Comment: 11 pages, 2 figure

    Itinerant electron metamagnetism in LaCo9_9Si4_4

    Full text link
    The strongly exchange enhanced Pauli paramagnet LaCo9_9Si4_4 is found to exhibit an itinerant metamagnetic phase transition with indications for metamagnetic quantum criticality. Our investigation comprises magnetic, specific heat, and NMR measurements as well as ab-initio electronic structure calculations. The critical field is about 3.5 T for H∣∣cH||c and 6 T for H⊄cH\bot c, which is the lowest value ever found for rare earth intermetallic compounds. In the ferromagnetic state there appears a moment of about 0.2 ÎŒB\mu_B/Co at the 16k16k Co-sites, but sigificantly smaller moments at the 4d and 16l16l Co-sites.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures, PRB Rapid Communication, in prin

    Stimulated by recent observations of the excited bottom-strange mesons Bs1B_{s1} and Bs2∗B_{s2}^*, we calculate the semileptonic decays Bs0,Bs1â€Č,Bs1,Bs2∗→[Ds(1968),Ds∗(2112),DsJ(2317),DsJ(2460)]ℓΜˉB_{s0}, B_{s1}^{\prime}, B_{s1}, B_{s2}^*\to [D_s(1968), D_{s}^*(2112), D_{sJ}(2317), D_{sJ}(2460)]\ell\bar{\nu}, which is relevant for the exploration of the potential of searching these semileptonic decays in experiment.Comment: 11 pages, 3 figures, 9 tables. Light-cone QCD Sum Rules for the Λ\Lambda Baryon Electromagnetic Form Factors and its magnetic moment

    Full text link
    We present the light-cone QCD sum rules up to twist 6 for the electromagnetic form factors of the Λ\Lambda baryon. To estimate the magnetic moment of the baryon, the magnetic form factor is fitted by the dipole formula. The numerical value of our estimation is ΌΛ=−(0.64±0.04)ÎŒN\mu_\Lambda=-(0.64\pm0.04)\mu_N, which is in accordance with the experimental data and the existing theoretical results. We find that it is twist 4 but not the leading twist distribution amplitudes that dominate the results.Comment: 13 page, 7 figures, accepted for publication in Euro. Phys. J.

    Rare Decays of \Lambda_b->\Lambda + \gamma and \Lambda_b ->\Lambda + l^{+} l^{-} in the Light-cone Sum Rules

    Full text link
    Within the Standard Model, we investigate the weak decays of Λb→Λ+γ\Lambda_b \to \Lambda + \gamma and Λb→Λ+l+l−\Lambda_b \to \Lambda + l^{+} l^{-} with the light-cone sum rules approach. The higher twist distribution amplitudes of Λ\Lambda baryon to the leading conformal spin are included in the sum rules for transition form factors. Our results indicate that the higher twist distribution amplitudes almost have no influences on the transition form factors retaining the heavy quark spin symmetry, while such corrections can result in significant impacts on the form factors breaking the heavy quark spin symmetry. Two phenomenological models (COZ and FZOZ) for the wave function of Λ\Lambda baryon are also employed in the sum rules for a comparison, which can give rise to the form factors approximately 5 times larger than that in terms of conformal expansion. Utilizing the form factors calculated in LCSR, we then perform a careful study on the decay rate, polarization asymmetry and forward-backward asymmetry, with respect to the decays of Λb→Λγ\Lambda_b \to \Lambda \gamma, Λl+l−\Lambda l^{+}l^{-}.Comment: 38 pages, 15 figures, some typos are corrected and more references are adde

    Spin dynamics in semiconductors

    Full text link
    This article reviews the current status of spin dynamics in semiconductors which has achieved a lot of progress in the past years due to the fast growing field of semiconductor spintronics. The primary focus is the theoretical and experimental developments of spin relaxation and dephasing in both spin precession in time domain and spin diffusion and transport in spacial domain. A fully microscopic many-body investigation on spin dynamics based on the kinetic spin Bloch equation approach is reviewed comprehensively.Comment: a review article with 193 pages and 1103 references.
