    Elliptic flow of muons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at forward rapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at root s(NN)=2.76TeV

    The elliptic flow, v(2), of muons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at forward rapidity (2.5 <y <4) is measured in Pb-Pb collisions at root s(NN)= 2.76TeVwith the ALICE detector at the LHC. The scalar product, two- and four-particle Q cumulants and Lee-Yang zeros methods are used. The dependence of the v(2) of muons from heavy-flavour hadron decays on the collision centrality, in the range 0-40%, and on transverse momentum, p(T), is studied in the interval 3 <p(T)<10 GeV/c. A positive v(2) is observed with the scalar product and two-particle Q cumulants in semi-central collisions (10-20% and 20-40% centrality classes) for the p(T) interval from 3 to about 5GeV/c with a significance larger than 3 sigma, based on the combination of statistical and systematic uncertainties. The v(2) magnitude tends to decrease towards more central collisions and with increasing pT. It becomes compatible with zero in the interval 6 <p(T)<10 GeV/c. The results are compared to models describing the interaction of heavy quarks and open heavy-flavour hadrons with the high-density medium formed in high-energy heavy-ion collisions.     Educação física e esportes para alunos com deficiência visual

    Esse texto relata as aulas desenvolvidas pelo projeto que teve como objetivo incluir os alunos com deficiência visual às diversas possibilidades didáticas e metodológicas da educação física escolar e a partir disso, garantir o acesso às práticas desportivas escolares. A metodologia utilizada é de natureza pedagógica e contou com a participação de dois discentes do Curso de educação física da FCT/UNESP de Presidente Prudente subsidiados com bolsas do Núcleo de Ensino da Pró Reitoria de graduação da Universidade Estadual Paulista. Foram realizados dois encontros semanais na Escola e um encontro semanal para preparação das aulas junto com o Professor coordenador. O projeto atendeu seis alunos com deficiência visual com as seguintes atividades: exercícios que estimulam à coordenação psicomotora, o equilíbrio, a lateralidade, a independência em locomoção, a noção de espaço-tempo e a integração entre os alunos. Observa-se, no entanto, que durante a elaboração e a prática das atividades, encontraram-se algumas dificuldades na execução e no desenvolvimento devido às características próprias da deficiência visual, em relação ao encurtamento muscular e atitudes hipertônicas tornando os movimentos corporais limitados. Como resultados já alcançados, podemos relatar a melhoria do desenvolvimento dos aspectos citados acima, que compõem as capacidades motoras, emocionais, afetivas e interpessoais. Contudo, devido a grande necessidade da percepção tátil ser mais exigida, as ações da educação física resultam em respostas satisfatórias quanto ao seu envolvimento nas atividades propostas. E como conclusão preliminar, reafirmamos que nesse mundo atual, devemos considerar os corpos que nele habitam acompanhados de seus movimentos, expressões e sentimentos, um corpo que também vai à escola

    We report on the measurement of freeze-out radii for pairs of identical-charge pions measured in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV as a function of collision centrality and the average transverse momentum of the pair kT. Three-dimensional sizes of the system (femtoscopic radii), as well as direction-averaged onedimensional radii are extracted. The radii decrease with kT, following a power-law behavior. This is qualitatively consistent with expectations from a collectively expanding system, produced in hydrodynamic calculations. The radii also scale linearly with _dNch/dη_1/3. This behavior is compared to world data on femtoscopic radii in heavy-ion collisions. While the dependence is qualitatively similar to results at smaller √sNN, a decrease in the ratio Rout/Rside is seen, which is in qualitative agreement with a specific prediction from hydrodynamic models: a change from inside-out to outside-in freeze-out configuration. The results provide further evidence for the production of a collective, strongly coupled system in heavy-ion collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider

    The production of muons from heavy flavour decays is measured at forward rapidity in proton–proton collisions at √s=7 TeV collected with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The analysis is carried out on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity Lint=16.5 nb−1. The transverse momentum and rapidity differential production cross sections of muons from heavy flavour decays are measured in the rapidity range 2.5<y<4, over the transverse momentum range 2<pt<12 GeV/c. The results are compared to predictions based on perturbative QCD calculations

    Angular correlations between unidentified charged trigger particles and various species of charged associated particles (unidentified particles, pions, kaons, protons and antiprotons) are measured by the ALICE detector in p-Pb collisions at a nucleon--nucleon centre-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV in the transverse-momentum range 0.3 < pTp_T < 4 GeV/c. The correlations expressed as associated yield per trigger particle are obtained in the pseudorapidity range |ηlab\eta_{lab}| < 0.8. Fourier coefficients are extracted from the long-range correlations projected onto the azimuthal angle difference and studied as a function of pTp_T and in intervals of event multiplicity. In high-multiplicity events, the second-order coefficient for protons, v2pv_2^p, is observed to be smaller than that for pions, v2πv_2^\pi, up to about pTp_T = 2 GeV/c. To reduce correlations due to jets, the per-trigger yield measured in low-multiplicity events is subtracted from that in high-multiplicity events. A two-ridge structure is obtained for all particle species. The Fourier decomposition of this structure shows that the second-order coefficients for pions and kaons are similar. The v2pv_2^p is found to be smaller at low pTp_T and larger at higher pTp_T than v2πv_2^\pi, with a crossing occurring at about 2 GeV. This is qualitatively similar to the elliptic-flow pattern observed in heavy-ion collisions.     Production of inclusive ϒ(1S) and ϒ(2S) in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

    We report on the production of inclusive Υ(1S) and Υ(2S) in p-Pb collisions at sNN−−−√=5.02 TeV at the LHC. The measurement is performed with the ALICE detector at backward (−4.46<ycms<−2.96) and forward (2.03<ycms<3.53) rapidity down to zero transverse momentum. The production cross sections of the Υ(1S) and Υ(2S) are presented, as well as the nuclear modification factor and the ratio of the forward to backward yields of Υ(1S). A suppression of the inclusive Υ(1S) yield in p-Pb collisions with respect to the yield from pp collisions scaled by the number of binary nucleon-nucleon collisions is observed at forward rapidity but not at backward rapidity. The results are compared to theoretical model calculations including nuclear shadowing or partonic energy loss effects
