日本古来の素材や伝統技法・工芸を世界に通じる先染織物のデザインに活用するための基礎研究

　本研究は日本古来の素材や伝統技法・工芸、とりわけ播磨藍、杉原和紙など、兵庫県に古くから育まれてきた素材や技法を調査し、世界に通じる先染綿織物のデザインに活用することを目的とする。兵庫県北播磨の地場産業である播州織は、安価な海外産地との価格競争の中で生産高を激減させている。これは一地場産業の衰退だけに留まらず、北播磨の地域経済や人口の流出に直結する深刻な問題である。　今日、ラグジュアリーファッションの市場では、高感度で高品質なテキスタイルに関心が高まっている。一方、播州織においては、ジャガード織を高度に進歩させたフォトジャガードやカットジャガードなどポテンシャルの高い技術を持ってはいるが、独自の製品開発には至っていない。播州織がラグジュアリー市場の需要に応えるためには、播州織でしか生み出すことができないオリジナル性の高い製品開発が不可欠である。そのためには播州織におけるジャガード織の高度な技術を用い、日本独自の美的価値観「ジャパンクオリティ」をキーワードにオリジナル性の高い、高付加価値な先染綿織物の開発が必要である。兵庫県の伝統的な染色技法や加工技術、日本古来の素材などの調査・研究・実験を行い、播州織産元商社の株式会社丸萬の協力を得て、新たな播州織の開発を試みる基礎研究を行った。This research investigates traditional Japanese materials, techniques, and crafts, especially those of Hyogo Prefecture, such as Harima indigo and Sugihara Washi paper, and the use of those for world-class designs of yarn-dyed cotton fabric. The production of Banshu weaving, which is a local industry of Kita Harima, Hyogo Prefecture, has drastically reduced due to price competition with inexpensive overseas areas of production. This reduction isn’t just a decline in one local industry, but is a serious problem directly linked to the regional economy and the population outflow of North Harima. The interest in stylishness as well as top quality textiles is rising in today’s luxury fashion market. Banshu weaving has considerably technological potential such as photo jacquard and cut jacquard, which are greatly advanced forms of jacquard weaves, but has not developed its own unique products. In order to meet the demands of the luxury market, it is indispensable to develop highly original products that can only be produced in the area. Consequently, we have focused on the development of unique and high value-added yarn-dyed cotton fabric using the advanced technology of Banshu jacquard, in the name of "Japan Quality", which symbolizes Japan\u27s unique aesthetic values. We have conducted research and experiments on traditional dyeing techniques and processing technology in Hyogo, and the ancient materials of Japanese origin, and then conducted basic research with the cooperation of Maruman Co. Ltd., a former trading company of Banshu weaving to develop new Banshu weaves

アスリートのための高機能な競技用ウエアの調査・研究と日常の衣服への応用の可能性に関する基礎研究

今日のアスリートのための競技用ウエアの発展は機能素材の開発だけではなく、テーピングを応用したカッティングが生み出されるなど目を見張るものがある。そのウエアは、競技におけるアスリートの究極の「力の美しさ」を強調することだけでなく、着用したアスリートの身体機能を高める効果があることは周知の事実である。競技用ウエアの持つ究極の機能性をスポーツという枠に留めるのではなく、日常生活の中で、障害者、高齢者も含めた人々の身体機能を高める衣服として活用しなければならないと考える。 本研究は身体機能の弱っている人々に対し、身体の動きを補助し、怪我を予防し、生活の質的向上を図るユニバーサルデザインとして活用できると考え、高機能な競技ウエアの調査を行う。本研究の目的は、張力の異なる素材を用いたテーピングを取り込んだカッティングによる着圧機能を加えた機能服の試作、検証を行い、その上で、日常の衣服に応用するための基礎研究とすることである。In this article, we’d like to conduct basic research for functional appliance that sportswear has in more practical use as universal design. This is to assist those who suffer declines of various physical functions in order to better move their body, prevent injuries, and thus, improve the quality of their lives in general. Recent evolution in sportswear such as the emergence of compression garments, which employs the idea of therapeutic taping, as well as the rapid improvement in the materials, is remarkable. It is a well-known fact that sportswear does not only emphasise the beauty of wearers’ muscles and movements, but it also has a considerable effect on the athlete’s physical performance. Rather than to limit sportswear’s excellent functionality within the realm of sports, we would like to examine the possibility of utilizing the technology to realize clothing that empowers those in society such as senior citizens and disabled individuals to improve their physical functions in their everyday lives. We are going to investigate the possibility of application to everyday clothing by first examining high-performance sportswear, then engineering garments using materials of different tension to increase the taping effect, and finally prototyping and verifying the functional clothing with compression functionality

交通事故軽減のための汎用性と経済的頒布性に優れた蛍光反射材用品の開発

　現在、交通事故死者数に占める高齢者の数は、依然として高い水準で推移している。これに対して官公庁関係は、交通事故軽減のため市民に対して蛍光反射材を使用した安全啓発用品を配布している。しかし、市民の間では必要性の意識が低い、効果が周知されずデザインが服装に合わない等の理由から着用率が低く、啓発活動に至っていない現状がある。　本研究では、大学がコーディネーター役となり、産官学民がそれぞれの役割のもと着用率向上を目指すことを目的とし、本学は日常生活に密着した反射材を活用したデザイン提案を行い、16 点のサンプル制作を行った。そしてそれらの視認性を照射実験にて検証し、交通安全フェアや様々な展示会で市民を対象にアンケート調査を行った。結果、色は白色、アイテムは帽子やバック類、反射球などの立体形で反射材の面積が広いものほど、視認性が高いことが明らかになった。Currently, the number of the elderly citizens in traffic fatalities has moved at a high level. To reduce the number of traffic accident, the Civil Service distributes the reflective material goods to the citizens and advises to wear them to enlighten their conscious of traffic safety. However, due to their low consciousness of necessity, the effect has been unknown, or because the goods are not fashionable enough, the wearing rate of the reflective material goods is still so low that more educational activity is required. In this research, KOBE Design University has coordinated so called “industry-academia-government collaboration” with some business companies and Hyogo Prefectural Police. We worked together from each point of view to increase the wearing rate. KOBE Design University has proposed some designs of the reflective material goods which are close to and easy to wear for daily use and made16 kinds of sample goods. The visibility of the goods was tested under an irradiation experiment. Also we promoted the goods to the citizens at some traffic safety fairs and exhibitions and held a questionnaire survey. As a result, we found out that stereoscopic items with color of white with wide area such as hats and bags are the most visible goods

日本・中国のファッションデザイン学術交流にみるユニバーサルファッションの意義と役割に関する調査研究

　現在、世界で高齢化が進む中、中華人民共和国（以下、中国と称す。）は、2010 年に65 歳以上の高齢人口が1 億人を超える世界で唯一の国となった。さらに、短期間で高齢社会に突入する中、その対応策が急務となる。本研究の目的は、中国のファッションデザイン教育において、高齢社会に対応するデザイン手法が確立されていない現状に対し、「ユニバーサルファッション－国籍や年齢、障害の有無に関わらず、誰もが快適な衣生活を送るデザイン手法」を、教育カリキュラムとして普及し確立することにある。2016 年から本学ファッションデザイン学科と中国上海視覚芸術学院ファッションデザイン学部間で学術交流が始まった。そして2017 年、本学は、第12 回アート＆デザイン教育国際サミットフォーラム、第3 回上海中高齢時尚服飾国際会議、高齢社会に向けてのファッションショーへ参画した。高齢社会は国境を超えての世界的な課題であり、ファッションデザイン分野で解決し推進していくことが重要であると共有認識された。2017 年11 月、両大学の学長面談が行われ、今後の教育・研究・活動に関しての協力体制が約束された。両大学間の取り組みは、始まったばかりではあるが、ファッションデザイン学術交流を深めながら、ユニバーサルファッションの意義と役割を見い出していきたい。The People\u27s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as China) has become the only country in the world with a 65 and older population in excess of 100 million in 2010. As we enter into a aged/aging society within a relatively short period of time, it is important that efforts be made to deal with the effects. Against China\u27s fashion design education, The objective of this study is to spread and establish a curriculum based on the concept of “Universal Fashion: a design method focused on designing comfortable clothing for everyone, regardless of nationality, age, or ability". Academic exchanges began between the Fashion Design Department of our university and the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts, School of Fashion Design in 2016. Aging Societies are a global issue which extends beyond national borders; the importance of resolving/ promoting efforts to accommodate these social changes within the fashion design field was collectively acknowledged. Joint university efforts have just begun, but we would like to research the significance and role of universal fashion, while continuing to deepen fashion design academic exchange
