Measurement of D s ± production asymmetry in pp collisions at √s=7 and 8 TeV

    Get PDF
The inclusive Ds±D_s^{\pm} production asymmetry is measured in pppp collisions collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of s=7\sqrt{s} =7 and 8 TeV. Promptly produced Ds±D_s^{\pm} mesons are used, which decay as Ds±ϕπ±D_s^{\pm}\to\phi\pi^{\pm}, with ϕK+K\phi\to K^+K^-. The measurement is performed in bins of transverse momentum, pTp_{\rm T}, and rapidity, yy, covering the range 2.5<pT<25.02.5<p_{\rm T}<25.0 GeV/c/c and 2.0<y<4.52.0<y<4.5. No kinematic dependence is observed. Evidence of nonzero Ds±D_s^{\pm} production asymmetry is found with a significance of 3.3 standard deviations.Comment: All figures and tables, along with any supplementary material and additional information, are available at https://cern.ch/lhcbproject/Publications/p/LHCb-PAPER-2018-010.htm

A search for the decays Bc+J/ψD()0K+B_c^+ \to J/\psi D^{(*)0} K^+ and Bc+J/ψD()+K0B_c^+ \to J/\psi D^{(*)+} K^{*0} is performed with data collected at the LHCb experiment corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb1^{-1}. The decays Bc+J/ψD0K+B_c^+ \to J/\psi D^0 K^+ and Bc+J/ψD0K+B_c^+ \to J/\psi D^{*0} K^+ are observed for the first time, while first evidence is reported for the Bc+J/ψD+K0B_c^+ \to J/\psi D^{*+} K^{*0} and Bc+J/ψD+K0B_c^+ \to J/\psi D^+ K^{*0} decays. The branching fractions of these decays are determined relative to the Bc+J/ψπ+B_c^+ \to J/\psi \pi^+ decay. The Bc+B_c^+ mass is measured, using the J/ψD0K+J/\psi D^0 K^+ final state, to be 6274.28±1.40(stat)±0.32(syst)6274.28 \pm 1.40 (stat) \pm 0.32 (syst) MeV/c2c^2. This is the most precise single measurement of the Bc+B_c^+ mass to date.Comment: All figures and tables, along with any supplementary material and additional information, are available at https://lhcbproject.web.cern.ch/lhcbproject/Publications/LHCbProjectPublic/LHCb-PAPER-2016-055.htm

A search for the flavor-changing neutral-current decay Λ + c → p μ + μ − is reported using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0     fb − 1 collected by the LHCb Collaboration. No significant signal is observed outside of the dimuon mass regions around the ϕ and ω resonances, and an upper limit is placed on the branching fraction of B ( Λ + c → p μ + μ − ) < 7.7 ( 9.6 ) × 10 − 8 at  90%(95%) confidence level. A significant signal is observed in the ω dimuon mass region for the first time

See paper for full list of authors - All figures and tables, along with any supplementary material and additional information, are available at this https URL - Submitted to JHEPInternational audienceMeasurements of the differential branching fraction and angular moments of the decay B0→K+π−μ+μ− in the K∗0,2(1430)0 in the K+π− invariant mass range 1330<m(K+π−)<1530 MeV/c2 are presented. Proton-proton collision data are used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb−1 collected by the LHCb experiment. Differential branching fraction measurements are reported in five bins of the invariant mass squared of the dimuon system, q2, between 0.1 and 8.0 GeV2/c4. For the first time, an angular analysis sensitive to the S-, P- and D-wave contributions of this rare decay is performed. The set of 40 normalised angular moments describing the decay is presented for the q2 range 1.1--6.0 GeV2/c4
