Complementary feeding and nutritional status of 6-24-month-old children in Acrelândia, Acre State, Western Brazilian Amazon
Com objetivo de investigar o estado nutricional e alimentação complementar em crianças de 6 a 24 meses, residentes na Amazônia Ocidental Brasileira, um estudo transversal foi realizado na área urbana do Município de Acrelândia, Estado do Acre, com 164 crianças. As prevalências de déficit de estatura/idade e anemia foram de 12% e 40%, respectivamente, e de deficiência de ferro isolada, de 85%. Os níveis séricos das vitaminas A e B12 estavam baixos em 15% e 12% das crianças, respectivamente. Houve baixo consumo alimentar dos seguintes nutrientes (% de crianças abaixo das recomendações): ácido fólico (33%), vitamina C (40%), vitamina A (42%), zinco (46%) e ferro (71%). A biodisponibilidade de ferro da dieta foi de 8%. Observou-se baixo consumo de frutas, hortaliças e carnes, com consumo excessivo de leite de vaca e mingau.Our objective was to investigate nutritional status and complementary feeding practices in children from 6 to 24 months of age living in the Western Brazilian Amazon. A cross-sectional study was conducted within an urban area of Acrelândia, Acre State. A total of 164 children were studied. Prevalence rates for stunting and anemia were 12% and 40%, respectively, and overall prevalence of iron deficiency was 85%. Vitamin A and B12 serum levels were below normal thresholds in 15% and 12% of children, respectively. Low intake was observed for the following nutrients (% of children): folic acid (33%), vitamin C (40%), vitamin A (42%), zinc (46%), and iron (71%). Iron bioavailability in the diet was approximately 8%. Literature survey is meant to be exhaustive up to December 2018, and after that, other works are included as available, but coverage is not necessarily complete. Cervicofacial necrotizing fasciitis of odontogenic origin
Introducción: la fascitis necrotizante es una infección bacteriana, rara, destructiva y rápidamente progresiva de los tejidos subcutáneos y la fascia superficial que en los estadios más avanzados involucra la piel y está asociada a altos índices de morbilidad y mortalidad.Objetivos: describir la fascitis necrotizante cervicofacial de origen odontogénico y sus principales causas y factores predisponentes.Métodos: se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo, transversal en el Hospital General de Benguela, Angola, de abril de 2014 a abril de 2016. Se estudió toda la población, constituida por 77 pacientes que fueron atendidos en este centro con diagnóstico de fascitis necrotizante cervicofacial odontogénica. Las variables de estudio fueron el sexo, los grupos de edad, los factores predisponentes, los tratamientos ambulatorios, la hemoglobina al ingreso, el foco infeccioso dental y las características clínicas. Se emplearon estadígrafos descriptivos. La información se extrajo de las historias clínicas. Resultados: el 73% del total de casos perteneció al sexo masculino, hubo 12 pacientes con enfermedades sistémicas que desarrollaron una fascitis necrotizante cervicofacial, los antiinflamatorios no esteroideos se usaron en el 94,8% de los enfermos, se constató hemoglobina baja en el 88,3% de los casos y el 80% de los pacientes arribaron al centro hospitalario con enfermedad avanzada. Conclusiones: la principal causa de la fascitis necrotizante cervicofacial fueron los focos sépticos de origen dentario. Esta enfermedad está relacionada a procesos simples que no recibieron un tratamiento adecuado en la comunidad.Introduction: necrotizing fasciitis is a rare, destructive and rapidly progressive bacterial infection of the subcutaneous tissues and superficial fascia that in the most advanced stages involves the skin and is associated with high morbidity and mortality rates.Objectives: to describe cervicofacial necrotizing fasciitis of odontogenic origin and its main causes and predisposing factors.Methods: an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, descriptive study was carried out in the General Hospital of Benguela, Angola, from April 2014 to April 2016. The entire population was studied, which consisted by 77 patients who were assisted in this center with a diagnosis of cervicofacial odontogenic necrotizing necrotizing cervicofacial fasciitis. The study variables were sex, age groups, predisposing factors, outpatient treatment, hemoglobin on admission, dental infectious focus and clinical characteristics. Descriptive statistics were used. The information was extracted from the medical records. Results: 73% of all cases were male, 12 patients with systemic diseases developed cervicofacial necrotizing fasciitis, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs were used in 94.8% of patients, hemoglobin was low in 88.3% of cases and 80% of patients arrived at the hospital with advanced disease. Conclusions: the main cause of cervicofacial necrotizing fasciitis was septic foci of dental origin. This disease is related to simple processes that were not adequately treated in the community
Differential branching fraction and angular analysis of the decay B0→K∗0μ+μ−
The angular distribution and differential branching fraction of the decay B 0→ K ∗0 μ + μ − are studied using a data sample, collected by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at s√=7 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb−1. Several angular observables are measured in bins of the dimuon invariant mass squared, q 2. A first measurement of the zero-crossing point of the forward-backward asymmetry of the dimuon system is also presented. The zero-crossing point is measured to be q20=4.9±0.9GeV2/c4 , where the uncertainty is the sum of statistical and systematic uncertainties. The results are consistent with the Standard Model predictions

Model-independent search for CP violation in D0→K−K+π−π+ and D0→π−π+π+π− decays
A search for CP violation in the phase-space structures of D0 and View the MathML source decays to the final states K−K+π−π+ and π−π+π+π− is presented. The search is carried out with a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb−1 collected in 2011 by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. For the K−K+π−π+ final state, the four-body phase space is divided into 32 bins, each bin with approximately 1800 decays. The p-value under the hypothesis of no CP violation is 9.1%, and in no bin is a CP asymmetry greater than 6.5% observed. The phase space of the π−π+π+π− final state is partitioned into 128 bins, each bin with approximately 2500 decays. The p-value under the hypothesis of no CP violation is 41%, and in no bin is a CP asymmetry greater than 5.5% observed. All results are consistent with the hypothesis of no CP violation at the current sensitivity
Measurement of the CP-violating phase \phi s in Bs->J/\psi\pi+\pi- decays
Measurement of the mixing-induced CP-violating phase phi_s in Bs decays is of
prime importance in probing new physics. Here 7421 +/- 105 signal events from
the dominantly CP-odd final state J/\psi pi+ pi- are selected in 1/fb of pp
collision data collected at sqrt{s} = 7 TeV with the LHCb detector. A
time-dependent fit to the data yields a value of
phi_s=-0.019^{+0.173+0.004}_{-0.174-0.003} rad, consistent with the Standard

Observation of two new baryon resonances
Two structures are observed close to the kinematic threshold in the mass spectrum in a sample of proton-proton collision data, corresponding
to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb recorded by the LHCb experiment.
In the quark model, two baryonic resonances with quark content are
expected in this mass region: the spin-parity and
states, denoted and .
Interpreting the structures as these resonances, we measure the mass
differences and the width of the heavier state to be
MeV,
MeV,
MeV, where the first and second
uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The width of the
lighter state is consistent with zero, and we place an upper limit of
MeV at 95% confidence level. Relative

Measurement of the CP-violating phase phi_s in the decay Bs->J/psi phi
We present a measurement of the time-dependent CP-violating asymmetry in B_s
-> J/psi phi decays, using data collected with the LHCb detector at the LHC.
The decay time distribution of B_s -> J/psi phi is characterized by the decay
widths Gamma_H and Gamma_L of the heavy and light mass eigenstates of the
B_s-B_s-bar system and by a CP-violating phase phi_s. In a sample of about 8500
B_s -> J/psi phi events isolated from 0.37 fb^-1 of pp collisions at sqrt(s)=7
TeV we measure phi_s = 0.15 +/- 0.18 (stat) +/- 0.06 (syst) rad. We also find
an average B_s decay width Gamma_s == (Gamma_L + Gamma_H)/2 = 0.657 +/- 0.009
(stat) +/- 0.008 (syst) ps^-1 and a decay width difference Delta Gamma_s ==
Gamma_L - Gamma_H} = 0.123 +/- 0.029 (stat) +/- 0.011 (syst) ps^-1. Our
measurement is insensitive to the transformation (phi_s,DeltaGamma_s --> pi -
