By solving the Einstein equations of the graviton coupling with a real scalar
dilaton field, we establish a general framework to self-consistently solve the
geometric background with black-hole for any given phenomenological holographic
models. In this framwork, we solve the black-hole background, the corresponding
dilaon field and the dilaton potential for the deformed AdS5â model with a
positive/negative quadratic correction. We systematically investigate the
thermodynamical properties of the deformed AdS5â model with a positive and
negative quadratic correction, respectively, and compare with lattice QCD on
the results of the equation of state, the heavy quark potential, the Polyakov
loop and the spatial Wilson loop. We find that the bulk thermodynamical
properties are not sensitive to the sign of the quadratic correction, and the
results of both deformed holographic QCD models agree well with lattice QCD
result for pure SU(3) gauge theory. However, the results from loop operators
favor a positive quadratic correction, which agree well with lattice QCD
result. Especially, the result from the Polyakov loop excludes the model with a
negative quadratic correction in the warp factor of AdS5â.Comment: 26 figures,36 pages,V.3: an appendix,more equations and references

22 pagesInternational audienceIn this paper, we classify all (complete) non elementary algebraic solutions of Garnier systems that can be constructed by Kitaev's method: they are deduced from isomonodromic deformations defined by pulling back a given fuchsian equation E by a family of ramified covers. We first introduce orbifold structures associated to a fuchsian equation. This allow to get a refined version of Riemann-Hurwitz formula and then to promtly deduce that E is hypergeometric. Then, we can bound exponents and degree of the pull-back maps and further list all possible ramification cases. This generalizes a result due to C. Doran for the Painleve VI case. We explicitely construct one of these solutions

By use of the potential reconstruction approach we obtain a series of
asymptotically AdS (aAdS) black hole solutions in an Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton
(EMD) system. Basing on the solutions of the system, we reconstruct a
semi-analytical holographic QCD (hQCD) model with a quadratic term in warped
factor. We discuss some aspects of the hQCD model, in particular we calculate
the free energy of two static color sources (a heavy quark-antiquark pair)
which is an important order parameter to describe confinement/deconfinement
phase transition. The behavior of the free energy with respect to temperature
and chemical potential is studied. We find that in the hQCD model the
deconfinement phase transition can be realized and a critical point occurs. The
resulting phase diagram in the temperature-chemical potential TâÎź plane is
in quite good agreement with the one from recent lattice results and effective

We have measured the W-boson mass MW using data corresponding to 2.2/fb of
integrated luminosity collected in proton-antiproton collisions at 1.96 TeV
with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. Samples consisting
of 470126 W->enu candidates and 624708 W->munu candidates yield the measurement
MW = 80387 +- 12 (stat) +- 15 (syst) = 80387 +- 19 MeV. This is the most
precise measurement of the W-boson mass to date and significantly exceeds the
precision of all previous measurements combined

Open Access: This article is distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License.-- Chatrchyan, S. et al.The top-quark mass is measured in proton-proton collisions at sâ=7 TeV using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fbâ1 collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The measurement is performed in the dilepton decay channel ttÂŻâ(â+νâb)(ââν¯¯âbÂŻ), where â=e,Îź. Candidate top-quark decays are selected by requiring two leptons, at least two jets, and imbalance in transverse momentum. The mass is reconstructed with an analytical matrix weighting technique using distributions derived from simulated samples. Using a maximum-likelihood fit, the top-quark mass is determined to be 172.5Âą0.4 (stat.)Âą1.5 (syst.) persists up to at least j j = 4. For particles with transverse momenta (pT) of 2-4 GeV/c, the ridge is found to be most prominent when these particles are correlated with particles of pT = 2-6 GeV/c, and to be much reduced when paired with particles of pT = 10-12 GeV/c

The top quark pair production cross section is measured in dilepton events with one electron or muon, and one hadronically decaying tau lepton from the decay t (t) over bar -> (l nu(l))((sic)(h)nu((sic)))b (b) over bar, (l = e, mu). The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 2.0 fb(-1) for the electron channel and 2.2 fb(-1) for the muon channel, collected by the CMS detector at the LHC. This is the first measurement of the t (t) over bar cross section explicitly including tau leptons in proton- proton collisions at root s = 7 TeV. The measured value sigma(t (t) over bar) = 143 +/- 14(stat) +/- 22(syst) +/- 3(lumi) pb is consistent with the standard model predictions
