Coherent and semiclassical states in magnetic field in the presence of the Aharonov-Bohm solenoid

A new approach to constructing coherent states (CS) and semiclassical states (SS) in magnetic-solenoid field is proposed. The main idea is based on the fact that the AB solenoid breaks the translational symmetry in the xy-plane, this has a topological effect such that there appear two types of trajectories which embrace and do not embrace the solenoid. Due to this fact, one has to construct two different kinds of CS/SS, which correspond to such trajectories in the semiclassical limit. Following this idea, we construct CS in two steps, first the instantaneous CS (ICS) and the time dependent CS/SS as an evolution of the ICS. The construction is realized for nonrelativistic and relativistic spinning particles both in (2+1)- and (3+1)- dimensions and gives a non-trivial example of SS/CS for systems with a nonquadratic Hamiltonian. It is stressed that CS depending on their parameters (quantum numbers) describe both pure quantum and semiclassical states. An analysis is represented that classifies parameters of the CS in such respect. Such a classification is used for the semiclassical decompositions of various physical quantities.Comment: 35 pages, 2 figures. Meira Dwi Primanto, Priyo Sasmoko, in paper dummy CB as cubicle simulator for preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce off frequency 20 KV feeders (20 KV scada system at APD Central Java and Yogyakarta) explain that in 2013, the APD PT.PLN Central Java and Yogyakarta are conducting integration to SCADA at 20 KV feeders in distribution substation. For the next stage has been installed SCADA maintenance should be done periodically. Maintenance can be planned or due to interference with the SCADA system. Maintenance is usually done by the team must perform SCADA Distribution feeder outages and transfer of the load. In the installation of equipment, SCADA team should get a working permit to shut down the feeder, and to transfer the load to another feeder, so that the work has to get permission. SCADA systems are already installed requires maintenance to keep the system reliability. When maintenance SCADA, feeders should be extinguished, whereas for medium voltage customers such as factories, hospitals, and airports should always be channeled electrical energy. Feeder outages and load Delegation KWH lost causes. To the authors attempt to provide solutions that can overcome the missing KWH with a tool innovations made. The author makes a tool such as a dummy circuit breaker simulator 20 KV cubicles. This tool serves Especially when employees perform maintenance or investigation SCADA Disorders, which aims for 20 KV feeders should not be extinguished when performing preventive and corrective maintenance. So the number of frequency of feeder outages can be reduced

Alkylation-induced colon tumorigenesis in mice deficient in the Mgmt and Msh6 proteins

O[superscript 6]-methylguanine DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) suppresses mutations and cell death that result from alkylation damage. MGMT expression is lost by epigenetic silencing in a variety of human cancers including nearly half of sporadic colorectal cancers, suggesting that this loss maybe causal. Using mice with a targeted disruption of the Mgmt gene, we tested whether Mgmt protects against azoxymethane (AOM)-induced colonic aberrant crypt foci (ACF), against AOM and dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colorectal adenomas and against spontaneous intestinal adenomas in Apc[superscript Min] mice. We also examined the genetic interaction of the Mgmt null gene with a DNA mismatch repair null gene, namely Msh6. Both Mgmt and Msh6 independently suppress AOM-induced ACF, and combination of the two mutant alleles had a multiplicative effect. This synergism can be explained entirely by the suppression of alkylation-induced apoptosis when Msh6 is absent. In addition, following AOM+DSS treatment Mgmt protected against adenoma formation to the same degree as it protected against AOM-induced ACF formation. Finally, Mgmt deficiency did not affect spontaneous intestinal adenoma development in Apc[superscript Min/+] mice, suggesting that Mgmt suppresses intestinal cancer associated with exogenous alkylating agents, and that endogenous alkylation does not contribute to the rapid tumor development seen in Apc[superscript Min/+] mice.National Institutes of Health (U.S.) (grant ES02109)National Institutes of Health (U.S.) (grant CA75576)American Cancer Society (Research Professor

Nonparametric estimation of conditional transition probabilities in a non-Markov illness-death model

    Get PDF
One important goal in multi-state modeling is the estimation of transition probabilities. In longitudinal medical studies these quantities are particularly of interest since they allow for long-term predictions of the process. In recent years signi ficant contributions have been made regarding this topic. However, most of the approaches assume independent censoring and do not account for the influence of covariates. The goal of the paper is to introduce feasible estimation methods for the transition probabilities in an illness-death model conditionally on current or past covariate measures. All approaches are evaluated through a simulation study, leading to a comparison of two di erent estimators. The proposed methods are illustrated using real a colon cancer data set. This research was nanced by FEDER Funds through Programa Operacional Factores de Competitividade COMPETE and by Portuguese Funds through FCT - Funda ção para a Cência e a Tecnologia, within Projects Est-C/MAT/UI0013/2011 and PTDC/MAT/104879/2008. The current study evaluated the influence of two endodontic post systems and the elastic modulus and film thickness of resin cement on stress distribution in a maxillary central incisor (MCI) restored with direct resin composite using finite element analysis (FEA). A three-dimensional model of an MCI with a coronary fracture and supporting structures was performed. A static chewing pressure of 2.16 N/mm2 was applied to two areas on the palatal surface of the composite restoration. Zirconia ceramic (ZC) and glass fiber (GF) posts were considered. The stress distribution was analyzed in the post, dentin and cement layer when ZC and GF posts were fixed to the root canals using resin cements of different elastic moduli (7.0 and 18.6 GPa) and different layer thicknesses (70 and 200 μm). The different post materials presented a significant influence on stress distribution with lesser stress concentration when using the GF post. The higher elastic modulus cement created higher stress levels within itself. The cement thicknesses did not present significant changes.34222322

Differential Protection by Two Sunscreens from UV Radiation–Induced Immunosuppression

A controversy has arisen concerning the ability of sunscreens to protect mice from the immunosuppressive effects of UV radiation. We have assessed the photoprotection in hairless mice of two sun protection factor (SPF) 15 sunscreens containing different UVB (280-320-nm) absorbers, namely, octyl-N-dimethyl-p-aminobenzoate (o-PABA) or 2-ethyl-hexyl-p-methoxycinnamate (2-EHMC). Following three minimum erythemal exposures to UV radiation, both systemic suppression of contact hypersensitivity to 2, 4-dinitrofluorobenzene and inductin of susceptibility to transplanted UV radiation-induced tumor cells was established. Topically applied 2-EHMC sunscreen protected totally From both forms of immunosuppression, but the o-PABA sunscreen failed to protect, although both sunscreens were equally effective in protection from UV radiation-induced erythema and edema

Presidents Must Be Elected Popularly: Examining Proposals and Identifying the Natural Endpoint of Electoral College Reform

The Electoral College effectively disenfranchises voters who live outside the few states that decide presidential elections. This report endorses a change in the way electoral votes are allocated to ensure that Americans’ votes receive the same weight. States should sign on to the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, an agreement among states to allocate their electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote. Ranked choice voting should also be employed to ensure that candidates receive majority support. This report was researched and written during the 2018-2019 academic year by students in Fordham Law School’s Democracy and the Constitution Clinic, which is focused on developing non-partisan recommendations to strengthen the nation’s institutions and its democracy. Coherent states of non-relativistic electron in magnetic-solenoid field

We construct coherent states of a nonrelativistic electron in the magnetic-solenoid field, which is a superposition of the Aharonov-Bohm field and a collinear uniform magnetic field. In the problem under consideration there are two kind of coherent states, the first kind corresponds to classical trajectories which embrace the solenoid and the second one to trajectories which do not. Mean coordinates in the constructed coherent states are moving along classical trajectories, the coherent states maintain their form under the time evolution, and represent a complete set of functions, which can be useful in semi classical calculations. In the absence of the Aharonov-Bohm filed these states are reduced to the well-known in the case of uniform magnetic field Malkin-Man'ko coherent states.Comment: 11 pages, version accepted for publication in J.
