    ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST AND ITS CONTRIBUTIONS

    Introdução: A psicologia organizacional é uma área em que o profissional atua nas empresas, desenvolvendo funções como a compreensão do comportamento humano no contexto organizacional, coordena trabalho em equipe para diagnosticar e solucionar questões relativas a Recursos Humanos, análise das atividades desenvolvidas, promovendo estratégias que viabilizam o bem-estar do colaborador e consequente produtividade dos mesmos, dentre outros. Objetivo: Compreender a importância do Psicólogo Organizacional nas empresas e suas contribuições para o desenvolvimento interpessoal dos colaboradores e gestores. Metodologia: O presente estudo foi realizado na forma de revisão conceitual da literatura. Considerações: O presente estudo possibilitou a expansão de conhecimentos acerca da Psicologia Organizacional e do Trabalho (POT) contextualizada no novo cenário das organizações e de como a psicologia vem se adaptando para atender à demanda das empresas. Os desafios da POT ainda são muitos e, apesar de haver um grande avanço, cabe aos profissionais ampliar os seus conhecimentos na área e expandir seus interesses em ideias atualizadas e novas técnicas, seja por meio de estudos individuais ou cursos específicos. O trabalho do psicólogo organizacional somado à atuação de outros profissionais da empresa, quando focado em um objetivo partilhado e distinções claras de atuação, permite obter desfechos consideráveis que influenciam não só no desenvolvimento da organização, mas também de todos os indivíduos enredados no contexto de trabalho. Tais resultados corroboram a importância do papel do psicólogo organizacional no ambiente de trabalho e reforçam a necessidade de mais estudos e pesquisas voltados para esta temática.  Introduction: Organizational psychology is an area in which professionals work in companies, developing functions such as understanding human behavior in the organizational context, coordinating teamwork to diagnose and solve issues related to Human Resources, analyzing the activities developed, promoting strategies that enable the employee's well-being and consequent productivity, among others. Objective: Understand the importance of Organizational Psychologist in companies and their contributions to the interpersonal development of employees and managers. Methodology: This study was conducted as a conceptual review of the literature. Considerations: This study allowed the expansion of knowledge about Organizational and Work Psychology (POT) contextualized in the new scenario of organizations and how psychology has been adapting to meet the demand of companies. The challenges of POT are still many and, although there is a great advance, it is up to professionals to broaden their knowledge in the area and expand their interests in updated ideas and new techniques, either through individual studies or specific courses. The work of the organizational psychologist coupled with the performance of other company professionals, when focused on a shared goal and clear distinctions of performance, allows to obtain considerable outcomes that influence not only the development of the organization, but also of all individuals entangled in the work context. . These results corroborate the importance of the organizational psychologist's role in the work environment and reinforce the need for further studies and research on this subject

    OS CUIDADOS PALIATIVOS E A INVESTIGAÇÃO SOBRE O CUIDADO INTEGRAL MULTIDISCIPLINAR NO DEPARTAMENTO DE EMERGÊNCIA

    Segundo a Organização Mundial da Saúde, os Cuidados Paliativos são uma abordagem que visa melhorar a qualidade de vida dos pacientes que enfrentam doenças ameaçadoras da vida e de seus familiares. Em 31 de outubro de 2018 por meio da Resolução de Nº 41, o Ministério da Saúde afirma que os cuidados paliativos deverão ser ofertados inclusive no Departamento de Urgência e Emergência, com foco no conforto, dignidade, melhores práticas e na Atenção Hospitalar no controle de sintomas. O presente trabalho objetiva investigar os cuidados ofertados no pronto-socorro de um complexo hospitalar de urgência e emergência referência em trauma em Minas Gerais, tendo como premissa os cuidados paliativos. Trata-se de uma pesquisa realizada por meio de seleção de amostra por conveniência, que incluiu 52 profissionais de saúde no pronto-socorro deste hospital. A coleta dos dados foi realizada no período de 07 de setembro a 02 de outubro de 2021, através de um questionário estruturado, com 16 questões fechadas e 1 (uma) questão aberta de preenchimento opcional. Os dados foram apresentados em gráficos e realizada análise descritiva e qualitativa dos resultados. A pesquisa demonstrou que já existe uma prática em cuidados paliativos sendo realizada, mesmo sem nenhuma formação específica na área, o que acaba levando a algumas deficiências de abordagem dessa prática de cuidado. Os entrevistados se mostram confortáveis em atuar usando essa abordagem e acham válida a ideia de que haja a existência de uma equipe de Cuidados Paliativos para auxiliá-los buscando melhores práticas.Palavras-chave: Cuidado Paliativo; Serviços Médicos de Emergência; Pronto-socorro. 

    Decline in hepatitis B and C prevalence among hemodialysis patients in Tocantins, Northern Brazil

    Infection control measures have been responsible for a decline in the prevalence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections in hemodialysis patients. In Brazil, these measures have been in place since 1996. The aim of this study was to evaluate the current HBV and HCV epidemiology among hemodialysis patients in the State of Tocantins comparing them with those found 14 years ago. There was a significant decline in hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and anti-HCV prevalence from 4% and 13% in 2001 to 0.8% and 2.8% in 2014-2015, respectively (p < 0.05). Variables related to hemodialysis environment such as working shift and length of time on hemodialysis treatment were no longer associated to HCV and HBV exposure in 2014-2015. A high prevalence of self-reported hepatitis B vaccination was observed in both periods, but only 30% of the individuals showed serological profile of effective previous immunization, suggesting a low compliance with surveillance of hepatitis B immunization in hemodialysis centers. The significant decline in viral hepatitis B and C prevalence in hemodialysis patients in Tocantins underscores the importance of infection control measures, but the low frequency of protective serological profile after immunization against hepatitis B points to the need for greater vigilance of the patients’ vaccination

    Budget impact analysis of medicines : updated systematic review and implications

    This evaluation determines whether published studies to date meet the key characteristics identified for budget impact analyses (BIA) for medicines, accomplished through a systematic review and assessment against identified key characteristics. Studies from 2001 to 2015 on "budget impact analysis" with "drug" interventions were assessed, selected based on their titles/abstracts and full texts, with their characteristics checked according to key criteria. Out of 1984 studies, 92 were identified. Of these, 95% were published in Europe and the USA. 2012 saw the largest number of publications (16%) with a decline thereafter. 48% met up to 6 or 7 out of the 9 key characteristics. Only 22% stated no conflict of interest. The results indicate low adherence to the key characteristics that should be considered for BIAs and strong conflict of interest. This is an issue since BIAs can be of fundamental importance in managing the entry of new medicines including reimbursement decisions

    Predicting the Proteins of Angomonas deanei, Strigomonas culicis and Their Respective Endosymbionts Reveals New Aspects of the Trypanosomatidae Family

    Endosymbiont-bearing trypanosomatids have been considered excellent models for the study of cell evolution because the host protozoan co-evolves with an intracellular bacterium in a mutualistic relationship. Such protozoa inhabit a single invertebrate host during their entire life cycle and exhibit special characteristics that group them in a particular phylogenetic cluster of the Trypanosomatidae family, thus classified as monoxenics. in an effort to better understand such symbiotic association, we used DNA pyrosequencing and a reference-guided assembly to generate reads that predicted 16,960 and 12,162 open reading frames (ORFs) in two symbiont-bearing trypanosomatids, Angomonas deanei (previously named as Crithidia deanei) and Strigomonas culicis (first known as Blastocrithidia culicis), respectively. Identification of each ORF was based primarily on TriTrypDB using tblastn, and each ORF was confirmed by employing getorf from EMBOSS and Newbler 2.6 when necessary. the monoxenic organisms revealed conserved housekeeping functions when compared to other trypanosomatids, especially compared with Leishmania major. However, major differences were found in ORFs corresponding to the cytoskeleton, the kinetoplast, and the paraflagellar structure. the monoxenic organisms also contain a large number of genes for cytosolic calpain-like and surface gp63 metalloproteases and a reduced number of compartmentalized cysteine proteases in comparison to other TriTryp organisms, reflecting adaptations to the presence of the symbiont. the assembled bacterial endosymbiont sequences exhibit a high A+T content with a total of 787 and 769 ORFs for the Angomonas deanei and Strigomonas culicis endosymbionts, respectively, and indicate that these organisms hold a common ancestor related to the Alcaligenaceae family. Importantly, both symbionts contain enzymes that complement essential host cell biosynthetic pathways, such as those for amino acid, lipid and purine/pyrimidine metabolism.     Biodiversity loss is one of the main challenges of our time,1,2 and attempts to address it require a clear un derstanding of how ecological communities respond to environmental change across time and space.3,4 While the increasing availability of global databases on ecological communities has advanced our knowledge of biodiversity sensitivity to environmental changes,5–7 vast areas of the tropics remain understudied.8–11 In the American tropics, Amazonia stands out as the world’s most diverse rainforest and the primary source of Neotropical biodiversity,12 but it remains among the least known forests in America and is often underrepre sented in biodiversity databases.13–15 To worsen this situation, human-induced modifications16,17 may elim inate pieces of the Amazon’s biodiversity puzzle before we can use them to understand how ecological com munities are responding. To increase generalization and applicability of biodiversity knowledge,18,19 it is thus crucial to reduce biases in ecological research, particularly in regions projected to face the most pronounced environmental changes. We integrate ecological community metadata of 7,694 sampling sites for multiple or ganism groups in a machine learning model framework to map the research probability across the Brazilian Amazonia, while identifying the region’s vulnerability to environmental change. 15%–18% of the most ne glected areas in ecological research are expected to experience severe climate or land use changes by 2050.     The Genome of Anopheles darlingi, the main neotropical malaria vector

    Anopheles darlingi is the principal neotropical malaria vector, responsible for more than a million cases of malaria per year on the American continent. Anopheles darlingi diverged from the African and Asian malaria vectors ∼100 million years ago (mya) and successfully adapted to the New World environment. Here we present an annotated reference A. darlingi genome, sequenced from a wild population of males and females collected in the Brazilian Amazon. A total of 10 481 predicted protein-coding genes were annotated, 72% of which have their closest counterpart in Anopheles gambiae and 21% have highest similarity with other mosquito species. In spite of a long period of divergent evolution, conserved gene synteny was observed between A. darlingi and A. gambiae. More than 10 million single nucleotide polymorphisms and short indels with potential use as genetic markers were identified. Transposable elements correspond to 2.3% of the A. darlingi genome. Genes associated with hematophagy, immunity and insecticide resistance, directly involved in vectorhuman and vectorparasite interactions, were identified and discussed. This study represents the first effort to sequence the genome of a neotropical malaria vector, and opens a new window through which we can contemplate the evolutionary history of anopheline mosquitoes. It also provides valuable information that may lead to novel strategies to reduce malaria transmission on the South American continent.
