En los cuentos "La fiesta de las balas" de Martín Luis Guzmán y "Oro, caballo y hombre" de Rafael F. Muñoz, Rodolfo Fierro transita de la historia a la literatura y, de aquí, al mito por medio de la figura mítica del jinete de la llanura. La estética y lo patético de la figura del hombre sobre una bestia, y lo artístico a la hora de cometer un crimen máximo, lo hacen merecer, en el ámbito de la literatura y el mito, el nombre de el "otro" Centauro del Norte

The term 'schemes' refers to the symbolic, mythical and archetypal conception of the universe, based on numerology and various geometric figures. In relation to the symbolic, the presence of the numbers 4 and 5 is essential; As for the mythical, the writer's personal myth is related to Quetzalcóatl, as well as the planet Venus and Lucifer. El propósito de este artículo consiste en analizar las características del duelo, la melancolía y el amor en el personaje Pedro Páramo. La muerte de su esposa, Susana San Juan, le provoca un estado de duelo. Posteriormente, el humor melancólico lo conduce a un estado de tristeza y de profunda decadencia vital. No obstante, hay un aspecto que lo reivindica: el amor. En este sentido, es fundamental la influencia de Rainer Maria Rilke a propósito del amor intransitivo (jamás correspondido). La melancolía convierte en poeta a Pedro Páramo. La bilis negra del humor melancólico le sirve como tinta oscura para dar cuenta de su amor sin respuesta, y se convierte así en un amante inaudito

El relato “Manuscrito hallado en un bolsillo” de Julio Cortázar se basa en un juego que se convierte en ceremonia y rito, el cual requiere un tiempo y un espacio sagrados. Este espacio, nocturno y subterráneo, adquiere un carácter mítico. El plano del metro de París se corresponde con algunas pinturas de Piet Mondrian. Algunas ideas de este artista, y de René Magritte, sobre el arte de la pintura se corresponden con algunas ideas literarias de Cortázar. Al cuento le subyace el mito de Orfeo

Postharvest characteristics of Ataulfo mango grown in Soconusco, Chiapas

Objective: To determine the main indices of evolution of postharvest maturity of the Ataulfo mango from Soconusco, Chiapas, Mexico. Design/methodology/approach: The analyzed variables were color of skin L*, a* and b*, starch, total soluble solids (°Brix), pH, skin instrumental firmness, and color/skin firmness correlation. Results: It was found that, as fruit maturity progresses, from stage 1 to stage 5, the values of the variables skin color L, a* and b*, TSS and pH also increase, but starch concentration and instrumental firmness of the fruit decrease. The negative correlation between color L, a* and b* with the firmness of the fruit, suggest the use of the color variable, as a measure of the maturity of the Ataulfo mango. Limitations on study/implications: The evolution of mango ripening has been studied in varieties such as Tommy Atkins, Keitt, Alphonso, among others, and in Ataulfo grown in other regions of Mexico. Knowing the physicochemical evolution process of the Ataulfo mango grown in Soconusco, Chiapas, is essential for producers. New insights into the genetic etiology of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias

Characterization of the genetic landscape of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related dementias (ADD) provides a unique opportunity for a better understanding of the associated pathophysiological processes. We performed a two-stage genome-wide association study totaling 111,326 clinically diagnosed/'proxy' AD cases and 677,663 controls. We found 75 risk loci, of which 42 were new at the time of analysis. Pathway enrichment analyses confirmed the involvement of amyloid/tau pathways and highlighted microglia implication. Gene prioritization in the new loci identified 31 genes that were suggestive of new genetically associated processes, including the tumor necrosis factor alpha pathway through the linear ubiquitin chain assembly complex. We also built a new genetic risk score associated with the risk of future AD/dementia or progression from mild cognitive impairment to AD/dementia. The improvement in prediction led to a 1.6- to 1.9-fold increase in AD risk from the lowest to the highest decile, in addition to effects of age and the APOE ε4 allele

Measurement of the top quark forward-backward production asymmetry and the anomalous chromoelectric and chromomagnetic moments in pp collisions at √s = 13 TeV

Abstract The parton-level top quark (t) forward-backward asymmetry and the anomalous chromoelectric (d̂ t) and chromomagnetic (μ̂ t) moments have been measured using LHC pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected in the CMS detector in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1. The linearized variable AFB(1) is used to approximate the asymmetry. Candidate t t ¯ events decaying to a muon or electron and jets in final states with low and high Lorentz boosts are selected and reconstructed using a fit of the kinematic distributions of the decay products to those expected for t t ¯ final states. The values found for the parameters are AFB(1)=0.048−0.087+0.095(stat)−0.029+0.020(syst),μ̂t=−0.024−0.009+0.013(stat)−0.011+0.016(syst), and a limit is placed on the magnitude of | d̂ t| < 0.03 at 95% confidence level.
