Intervención Neuropsicológica para estimular las funciones cognitivas de atención, memoria y percepción en los adultos mayores

The present research work was oriented to learn about the neuropsychological intervention to stimulate cognitive functions, its general objective was: To implement the neuropsychological intervention to stimulate the cognitive functions of attention, memory and perception in older adults of the Camvil day center of the parish Vilcabamba - Loja (Ecuador); this research had a quantitative approach, descriptive type, quasi-experimental design, cross-sectional; the sample was composed of 11 older adults, 6 of the experimental group and 5 of the control group, to whom the Neurospi brief test and the Mini mental test were applied. The results obtained from both groups of the application of the brief neuropsi test are mostly normal in the levels of attention, memory and perception, followed by moderate and severe;  In addition, the results show that the cognitive status of the older adults in both groups is normal and mild, aspects that were evidenced by the Mann Whitney U test in which it is determined that there is an asymptotic significance in the effectiveness of the neuropsychological intervention of the neuropsychological test neuropsi breve of 0, 009 and the mini mental test of 0.034, both values are lower than the average level of 0.05 so the general hypothesis is accepted in which older adults with normal and mild cognitive status have a good performance in the functions of attention, memory and perception than older adults in the control group.El presente trabajo de investigación estuvo orientado a conocer sobre la intervención neuropsicológica para estimular las funciones cognitivas, tuvo como objetivo general: Implementar la intervención neuropsicológica para estimular las funciones cognitivas de atención, memoria y percepción en los adultos mayores del centro diurno Camvil de la parroquia Vilcabamba – Loja (Ecuador); está investigación contó con un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo, diseño cuasiexperimental, de corte transversal; la muestra estuvo integrada por 11 adultos mayores, 6 del grupo experimental y 5 del grupo control, a quienes se les aplicaron los test  Neurospi breve y el test Mini mental. Los resultados obtenidos de ambos grupos de la aplicación del test neuropsi breve en su mayoría son normales los niveles de atención, memoria y percepción, seguido de moderado y severo;  además los resultados demuestran que el estado cognitivo de los adultos mayores de ambos  grupos es normal y leve, aspectos que se evidenciaron mediante la prueba de U de Mann Whitney en la que se determina que existe una significancia asintótica en la efectividad de la intervención neuropsicológica del test neuropsi breve de 0,009 y del test mini mental de 0,034, los dos valores son inferiores al nivel promedio de 0,05 por lo cual se acepta la hipótesis general en la que los adultos mayores con estado cognitivo normal y leve presentan un buen desempeño en las funciones de atención, memoria y percepción que los adultos mayores del grupo control

Desarrollar un proyecto pedagógico donde se pretende mejorar la calidad de vida de los niños en edades de 4 a 6 años del barrio Luis Carlos galán II sector de altos de cazucá, mejorando en ellos la convivencia, minimizando los malos hábitos para así fortalecer valores por medio de actividades lúdico pedagógicas.Se pretende con el presente proyecto implementar nuevas estrategias pedagógicas para el fortalecimiento de la convivencia por medio del arte, juego y la exploración del medio. Se desarrollará en una zona vulnerable ubicada en altos de cazuca con ello se busca minimizar los malos hábitos y fortalecer valores. El componente social lo realizamos con la comunidad conociendo su problemática y eligiendo un grupo de niños en edades de 4 a 6 años en condiciones de pobreza y con el fin de mejorar su calidad de vida. Se escogió esta comunidad por su alto grado de vulnerabilidad y la falta de interés por el estado, ya que para ellos no es importante la atención a la primera infancia. Se quiere con esté crearles un ambiente ameno y recreativo para los niños, donde en ellos se les despierte el interés de mejorar su convivencia en su contexto social y mitigar la violencia.It is intended with this project to implement new pedagogical strategies for the strengthening of coexistence through art, play and exploration of the medium. Felicidad y satisfacción laboral de los consultores empresariales de Lima Metropolitana y el Callao

La presente investigación se desarrolló con el propósito de identificar si existe alguna relación entre la felicidad y la satisfacción laboral de los consultores empresariales de Lima Metropolitana y el Callao. El interés por el tema de la felicidad dentro del ámbito organizacional surgió en el siglo XXI, siendo definida como un sentimiento de satisfacción que los individuos experimentan de manera duradera. Por su parte, la satisfacción laboral ha sido estudiada sistemáticamente desde la década de los sesenta, entendiéndose como una disposición favorable del individuo hacia el trabajo que desempeña. Esta investigación se estructuró de tipo no experimental y alcance correlacional, ya que luego de medir los dos constructos de manera independiente, se analizó la relación entre ellos. Entonces, tanto la felicidad como la satisfacción laboral podrían considerarse como percepciones que influyen en la actitud que los individuos adoptan en su vida; y a través de estudios previos se ha probado que existe una relación directa entre ambas variables. Para esta investigación se usaron como instrumentos la Escala de la Felicidad de Alarcón (2006) y la Escala de Satisfacción laboral (SL-SPC) de Palma (2005). Luego de aplicarlos a una muestra de 96 consultores empresariales, seleccionados por conveniencia (lo que implica que las conclusiones no son extensivas a toda la población), se analizaron los datos recopilados utilizando el SPSS 23 concluyéndose que sí existe relación entre las dos variables de la investigación, la cual es directa y con alto nivel de significancia. El grado de felicidad entre los trabajadores encuestados fue 3.89 que es medio-alto, mientras que el grado de satisfacción laboral fue 3.45 (medio). Además, se encontró que los cuatro factores de la felicidad (sentido positivo de la vida, satisfacción con la vida, realización personal y alegría de vivir) tienen relación positiva con los cuatro factores de la satisfacción laboral (significancia de la tarea, condiciones de trabajo, reconocimiento personal y/o social y beneficios económicos) y a la inversa.This investigation was developed with the general purpose of identifying if there is any relationship between happiness and job satisfaction of the business consultants of Metropolitan Lima and Callao. The interest in the topic of happiness within the organizational scope arose in the 21st century, being defined as a feeling of satisfaction that individuals experience in a lasting way. On the other hand, job satisfaction has been studied systematically since the sixties, understood as a positive or favorable disposition of the individual towards the work he / she performs. This investigation was structured in a nonexperimental and correlational scope, since after measuring the two constructs independently, the relationship between them was analyzed, within a specific context. Therefore, both happiness and job satisfaction could be considered as perceptions that influence the attitude that individuals adopt in their lives; and through previous studies it has been proven that there is a direct relationship between both variables. For this research, the Scale of Happiness of Alarcón (2006) and the Scale of Labor Satisfaction (SL-SPC) of Palma (2005) were used as instruments. After applying them to a sample of 96 business consultants, selected for convenience (implying that the conclusions are not extended to the entire population), the data collected was analyzed using the SPSS 23 concluding that there is a relationship between the two variables of the research, which is direct and with a high level of significance. The degree of happiness among the workers surveyed was 3.89, which is medium-high, while the degree of job satisfaction was 3.45 (average). Results of the COVID-19 mental health international for the general population (COMET-G) study.

INTRODUCTION: There are few published empirical data on the effects of COVID-19 on mental health, and until now, there is no large international study. MATERIAL AND METHODS: During the COVID-19 pandemic, an online questionnaire gathered data from 55,589 participants from 40 countries (64.85% females aged 35.80 ± 13.61; 34.05% males aged 34.90±13.29 and 1.10% other aged 31.64±13.15). Distress and probable depression were identified with the use of a previously developed cut-off and algorithm respectively. STATISTICAL ANALYSIS: Descriptive statistics were calculated. Chi-square tests, multiple forward stepwise linear regression analyses and Factorial Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) tested relations among variables. RESULTS: Probable depression was detected in 17.80% and distress in 16.71%. A significant percentage reported a deterioration in mental state, family dynamics and everyday lifestyle. Persons with a history of mental disorders had higher rates of current depression (31.82% vs. 13.07%). At least half of participants were accepting (at least to a moderate degree) a non-bizarre conspiracy. The highest Relative Risk (RR) to develop depression was associated with history of Bipolar disorder and self-harm/attempts (RR = 5.88). Suicidality was not increased in persons without a history of any mental disorder. Based on these results a model was developed. CONCLUSIONS: The final model revealed multiple vulnerabilities and an interplay leading from simple anxiety to probable depression and suicidality through distress. This could be of practical utility since many of these factors are modifiable. Future research and interventions should specifically focus on them

Este catálogo compila todas las iniciativas de voluntariado que enmarcan y orientan las acciones de más de dos mil voluntarios anuales que aportan con su tiempo y conocimiento al fortalecimiento de las comunidades, sus organizaciones sociales y comunitarias que trabajan decididamente para construir una mejor sociedad. Durante los últimos tres años hemos apostado por el fortalecimiento de esta estrategia generando nuevas modalidades, diversos escenarios para el desarrollo del voluntariado, capacitando a los 19 líderes y los voluntarios en las sedes, siempre bajo la profunda convicción de que el mundo se puede cambiar cuando mucha gente pequeña, en lugares pequeños, haciendo cosas pequeñas, logran tocar la vida de las personas que más lo necesitan

La investigación busca describir los significados psicológicos en relación con la felicidad, partiendo del sujeto común no experto en la materia. Para ello se utilizará la técnica de Redes Semánticas Naturales Modificadas (RSNM). Esto en el contexto de la UNAD Zona Sur, específicamente con el cuerpo docente de las diferentes escuelas académicas, excepto los que pertenecen al programa de psicología. Esta última decisión en razón a prevenir alguna influencia en los significados derivada de la formación disciplinar de tales docentes, téngase en cuenta que el tema de la felicidad ha sido objeto de estudio desde la psicología. Este es un estudio sobre los significados psicológicos acerca de la felicidad en docentes de la UNAD Zona Sur. Esto a través de la técnica de RSNM, la cual se orienta justamente a dicho propósito. Esto en articulación con el proyecto “Felicidad: un estudio mixto desde la perspectiva de docentes y estudiantes de psicología de dos universidades de Latinoamérica”, en el que vienen trabajando docentes de la UNAD en convenio con la UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México)

Impacts of the Tropical Pacific/Indian Oceans on the Seasonal Cycle of the West African Monsoon

The current consensus is that drought has developed in the Sahel during the second half of the twentieth century as a result of remote effects of oceanic anomalies amplified by local land–atmosphere interactions. This paper focuses on the impacts of oceanic anomalies upon West African climate and specifically aims to identify those from SST anomalies in the Pacific/Indian Oceans during spring and summer seasons, when they were significant. Idealized sensitivity experiments are performed with four atmospheric general circulation models (AGCMs). The prescribed SST patterns used in the AGCMs are based on the leading mode of covariability between SST anomalies over the Pacific/Indian Oceans and summer rainfall over West Africa. The results show that such oceanic anomalies in the Pacific/Indian Ocean lead to a northward shift of an anomalous dry belt from the Gulf of Guinea to the Sahel as the season advances. In the Sahel, the magnitude of rainfall anomalies is comparable to that obtained by other authors using SST anomalies confined to the proximity of the Atlantic Ocean. The mechanism connecting the Pacific/Indian SST anomalies with West African rainfall has a strong seasonal cycle. In spring (May and June), anomalous subsidence develops over both the Maritime Continent and the equatorial Atlantic in response to the enhanced equatorial heating. Precipitation increases over continental West Africa in association with stronger zonal convergence of moisture. In addition, precipitation decreases over the Gulf of Guinea. During the monsoon peak (July and August), the SST anomalies move westward over the equatorial Pacific and the two regions where subsidence occurred earlier in the seasons merge over West Africa. The monsoon weakens and rainfall decreases over the Sahel, especially in August.Peer reviewe

Taking the pulse of Earth's tropical forests using networks of highly distributed plots

Tropical forests are the most diverse and productive ecosystems on Earth. While better understanding of these forests is critical for our collective future, until quite recently efforts to measure and monitor them have been largely disconnected. Networking is essential to discover the answers to questions that transcend borders and the horizons of funding agencies. Here we show how a global community is responding to the challenges of tropical ecosystem research with diverse teams measuring forests tree-by-tree in thousands of long-term plots. We review the major scientific discoveries of this work and show how this process is changing tropical forest science. Our core approach involves linking long-term grassroots initiatives with standardized protocols and data management to generate robust scaled-up results. By connecting tropical researchers and elevating their status, our Social Research Network model recognises the key role of the data originator in scientific discovery. Conceived in 1999 with RAINFOR (South America), our permanent plot networks have been adapted to Africa (AfriTRON) and Southeast Asia (T-FORCES) and widely emulated worldwide. Now these multiple initiatives are integrated via ForestPlots.net cyber-infrastructure, linking colleagues from 54 countries across 24 plot networks. Collectively these are transforming understanding of tropical forests and their biospheric role. Together we have discovered how, where and why forest carbon and biodiversity are responding to climate change, and how they feedback on it. This long-term pan-tropical collaboration has revealed a large long-term carbon sink and its trends, as well as making clear which drivers are most important, which forest processes are affected, where they are changing, what the lags are, and the likely future responses of tropical forests as the climate continues to change. By leveraging a remarkably old technology, plot networks are sparking a very modern revolution in tropical forest science.
