A new family of exact solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell equations for static axially symmetric spacetimes is presented. The metric functions of the solutions are explicitly computed and are simply written in terms of the oblate spheroidal coordinates. The solutions, obtained by applying the Ernst method of complex potentials, describe an infinite family of static charged dust disks with an inner edge. Relativistic static thin dust disks with an inner edge: An infinite family of new exact solutions

An infinite family of new exact solutions of the Einstein vacuum equations for static and axially symmetric spacetimes is presented. All the metric functions of the solutions are explicitly computed and the obtained expressions are simply written in terms of oblate spheroidal coordinates. Furthermore, the solutions are asymptotically flat and regular everywhere, as it is shown by computing all the curvature scalars. These solutions describe an infinite family of thin dust disks with a central inner edge, whose energy densities are everywhere positive and well behaved, in such a way that their energy-momentum tensor are in fully agreement with all the energy conditions. Now, although the disks are of infinite extension, all of them have finite mass. The superposition of the first member of this family with a Schwarzschild black hole was presented previously [G. A. Gonz\'alez and A. C. Guti\'errez-Pi\~neres, arXiv: 0811.3002v1 (2008)], whereas that in a subsequent paper a detailed analysis of the corresponding superposition for the full family will be presented.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figure

Ansiedad y Depresión como Indicadores de Calidad de Vida en Adultos Mayores

La ansiedad y la depresión pueden ser consideradas como indicadores o síntomas que reflejan la calidad de vida, modificando la  percepción y significado que el adulto mayor tiene  de su vida. El objetivo fue evaluar la ansiedad y  depresión como indicadores relevantes de la calidad de vida. Se evaluaron a 333 adultos mayores con los cuestionarios: de Ansiedad Cognitivo-Somática y WHOQOL-BREF.  Se encontró que el 83.5% de  333 adultos mayores señalaron algunas condiciones de la vivienda inadecuadas,  30.6% expresaron sentimientos negativos por su vivienda, 60.1% percibieron su calidad de vida como buena, 85.8%  señalaban que las  dimensiones:  ambiente  y relaciones sociales inadecuadas,  11.1%  mostraron una ansiedad de tipo cognitiva, las mujeres tuvieron  altos puntajes de depresión 70.0% rasgo y 67.7% estado,  la edad  fue  determinante para la  buena calidad de vida. Se detectaron al sexo, edad y depresión como indicadores significativos asociados a la calidad de vida. Palabras Claves: Calidad de Vida; Depresión; Ansiedad; vivienda; adultos mayores

La ética como generadora de confianza y crecimiento en tiempos de crisis en las PYME del sector TIC de Madrid

Spanish SMEs production systems have been mostly based on rigid management models that have a little relationship with employee´s moral values, because the feeling that these aspects had no influence or direct contribution into productivity results. In crisis times, not only in the economical aspect but also in terms of moral weakness values, such as the one that Spain is living, it is demanded by Groups of Interest (society, customers, workforce…) substantial changes in the way that companies operate, giving special attention to ethic and morality in terms of decision making. A good performance in business activity basing its decisions on strong moral principles, is not only compatible, but also through this ethical-productivity binomial could be generated a trust atmosphere that becomes an invaluable asset for the company. The application of a proper business culture that prioritizes ethical and moral behavior of their workforce, can help to the achievement of significant economic results, specially in the business network made up by SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) in the Information Technologies and Communication Technologies sector (ICT) of strategic value for a economic country development. Los sistemas empresariales de las PYME españolas mayoritariamente se han basado en rígidos modelos productivos que poco o nada han tenido en cuenta parcelas relacionadas con la Ética o los valores morales de sus trabajadores, ya que se consideraba que éstos no tenían una influencia ni aporte directo a la mejora ni crecimiento de la productividad empresarial. En momentos de crisis, no solo económica sino de valores como el que se vive en España, cada vez más se van demandando por parte de los grupos de interés (sociedad, trabajadores, accionistas, clientes, proveedores…) cambios sustanciales en el modo de operar de las empresas, otorgando mayor valor a la ética y moral a la hora de la toma de decisiones. El desempeño de una buena actividad económica que base sus decisiones en sólidos principios morales, no sólo es compatible, sino que a través de este binomio ética-productividad se puede generar un ambiente de confianza que se convierte en un activo de incalculable valor para la empresa. Advances in Nutritional Therapy of Acute Pancreatitis

Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a frequent abdominal acute inflammatory disorder and the leading cause of hospital admissions in gastrointestinal units. Clinical manifestations of AP vary from a mild edematous form to severe fulminant pancreatitis with major devastating complications. To date, experimental therapeutic agents remain scarce for the treatment of this disease. Nutritional therapy with appropriate nutrient supplementation is key to limiting the acute inflammation and preventing and managing complications associated with AP. This chapter focuses on novel therapeutic agents for nutritional intervention including enteral versus parenteral nutrition strategies, and nutritional supplements such as probiotics, glutamine, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins in the treatment of AP

The Fourteenth Data Release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey: First Spectroscopic Data from the extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey and from the second phase of the Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment

The fourth generation of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS-IV) has been in operation since July 2014. This paper describes the second data release from this phase, and the fourteenth from SDSS overall (making this, Data Release Fourteen or DR14). This release makes public data taken by SDSS-IV in its first two years of operation (July 2014-2016). Like all previous SDSS releases, DR14 is cumulative, including the most recent reductions and calibrations of all data taken by SDSS since the first phase began operations in 2000. New in DR14 is the first public release of data from the extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS); the first data from the second phase of the Apache Point Observatory (APO) Galactic Evolution Experiment (APOGEE-2), including stellar parameter estimates from an innovative data driven machine learning algorithm known as "The Cannon"; and almost twice as many data cubes from the Mapping Nearby Galaxies at APO (MaNGA) survey as were in the previous release (N = 2812 in total). This paper describes the location and format of the publicly available data from SDSS-IV surveys. We provide references to the important technical papers describing how these data have been taken (both targeting and observation details) and processed for scientific use. The SDSS website (www.sdss.org) has been updated for this release, and provides links to data downloads, as well as tutorials and examples of data use. Las ciencias sociales y sus abordajes en los estudios avanzados

Este libro tiene como uno de sus objetivos principales impulsar un ejercicio académico de tipo interdisciplinario entre investigadores y egresados del programa de Doctorado en Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Autónoma del Estado México (UAEM).
