Los resultados y la discusión obtenidos se presentarán a la luz de la adquisición del patrón acentual de las reglas de acentuación y desacentuación en L2Prosodic elements are determining factors in the context of the teaching and learning foreign languages as they are the first perceived elements (Billières 2002). For non-native learners (FLE), reproducing the "correct" accent is as difficult as perceiving it, as Baqué and al. (2014) showed in anterior studies. The aim of our actual work is to show if Spanish advanced learners of French managed to get stress pattern of French. To carry on our study, we used the DESACROM corpus, made of 82 declarative and interrogative sentences in French and Spanish. An acoustic analysis of parameters involved through stress realization (duration, f0, intensity) has been carried out. The results of each parameter (dependent variables) were analysed using linear regression models with mixed effects, in which subjects and items were entered as random variables and mother tongue, accentual structure, noun phrase complexity and intonation as predictor

The aim of this paper is twofold. Firstly, to analyse the prosodic (melodic) characteristics of two types of propositional parentheticals (syndetic and asyndetic) (Kaltenböck, 2007) in the corpus of television political interviews DEBAPOL (Baqué, 2000). Secondly, to carry out a discourse analysis of the three types ofprosodic forms identified in our corpus. Our results show a relationship between parentheticals' prosodic form and their discourse functions.L'analyse du corpus d'interviews politiques télévisés DEBAPOL (Baqué, 2000) a eu comme objectif, dans un premier temps, d'étudier la manifestation au plan prosodique (variations mélodiques) de deux types de segments parenthétiques propositionnels (syndétiques et asyndétiques) (Kaltenböck (2007). This research aims at examining the perception of accentual groups in French by French-speaking listeners and by Spanish/Catalan-speaking learners of French. The material was composed of French five-syllable sequences produced by native speakers of French and by Spanish/Catalanspeaking learners of French. The sequences were produced in the assertive and interrogative modalities. Moreover, a delexicalized version of the sequences was created. Participants listened to each sequence and had to decide whether it was composed of 1 or 2 groups. Results show that the listeners were more likely to perceive 2 groups when 1) the sequences were produced by learners of French, 2) the sequences were presented in the delexicalized version, and 3) the sequences' speech rate decreased

In swine production systems, one of the critical points that must be strictly attended to is the health of the pigs. Health is a structural component of animal welfare and reflects an optimal state of the animals, which has a direct impact on a higher productive performance and better development conditions. Infectious diseases are one of the greatest threats to the health of pigs and can cause losses of up to 100 % of production; therefore, it requires constant attention and continuous monitoring by the veterinarian and producers, in perfect coordination with the official health authorities. Currently, the implementation of best practices in the production chain is of interest to both producers and consumers. The control of infectious diseases requires collaboration between the various actors in the environment and must be considered a public good, since their negative repercussions can range from the local to the global level. This review will address the main infectious diseases that endanger swine health, their impact, the main contributions made by the National Institute for Research in Forestry, Agriculture and Livestock (INIFAP) in its 35 years of life, mainly at the National Center for Disciplinary Research in Animal Health and Safety (CENID-SAI), formerly known as the emblematic CENID-Microbiología or Palo Alto

Assessing the effectiveness of goal-oriented modeling languages: A family of experiments

[EN] Context Several goal-oriented languages focus on modeling stakeholders' objectives, interests or wishes. However, these languages can be used for various purposes (e.g., exploring system solutions or evaluating alternatives), and there are few guidelines on how to use these models downstream to the software requirements and design artifacts. Moreover, little attention has been paid to the empirical evaluation of this kind of languages. In a previous work, we proposed value@GRL as a specialization of the Goal Requirements Language (GRL) to specify stakeholders' goals when dealing with early requirements in the context of incremental software development. Objective: This paper compares the value@GRL language with the i* language, with respect to the quality of goal models, the participants' modeling time and productivity when creating the models, and their perceptions regarding ease of use and usefulness. Method: A family of experiments was carried out with 184 students and practitioners in which the participants were asked to specify a goal model using each of the languages. The participants also filled in a questionnaire that allowed us to assess their perceptions. Results: The results of the individual experiments and the meta-analysis indicate that the quality of goal models obtained with value@GRL is higher than that of i*, but that the participants required less time to create the goal models when using i*. The results also show that the participants perceived value@GRL to be easier to use and more useful than i* in at least two experiments of the family. Conclusions: value@GRL makes it possible to obtain goal models with good quality when compared to i*, which is one of the most frequently used goal-oriented modeling languages. It can, therefore, be considered as a promising emerging approach in this area. Several insights emerged from the study and opportunities for improving both languages are outlined. This work was supported by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (Adapt@Cloud project, grant number TIN2017-84550-R) and the Programa de Ayudas de Investigación y Desarrollo (PAID-01-17) from the Universitat Politècnica de València.Abrahao Gonzales, SM.; Insfran, E.; González-Ladrón-De-Guevara, F.; Fernández-Diego, M.; Cano-Genoves, C.; Pereira De Oliveira, R. Measurement of the top quark forward-backward production asymmetry and the anomalous chromoelectric and chromomagnetic moments in pp collisions at √s = 13 TeV

    Get PDF
Abstract The parton-level top quark (t) forward-backward asymmetry and the anomalous chromoelectric (d̂ t) and chromomagnetic (μ̂ t) moments have been measured using LHC pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected in the CMS detector in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1. The linearized variable AFB(1) is used to approximate the asymmetry. Candidate t t ¯ events decaying to a muon or electron and jets in final states with low and high Lorentz boosts are selected and reconstructed using a fit of the kinematic distributions of the decay products to those expected for t t ¯ final states. The values found for the parameters are AFB(1)=0.048−0.087+0.095(stat)−0.029+0.020(syst),μ̂t=−0.024−0.009+0.013(stat)−0.011+0.016(syst), and a limit is placed on the magnitude of | d̂ t| < 0.03 at 95% confidence level. MUSiC : a model-unspecific search for new physics in proton-proton collisions at root s=13TeV

    Get PDF
Results of the Model Unspecific Search in CMS (MUSiC), using proton-proton collision data recorded at the LHC at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb(-1), are presented. The MUSiC analysis searches for anomalies that could be signatures of physics beyond the standard model. The analysis is based on the comparison of observed data with the standard model prediction, as determined from simulation, in several hundred final states and multiple kinematic distributions. Events containing at least one electron or muon are classified based on their final state topology, and an automated search algorithm surveys the observed data for deviations from the prediction. The sensitivity of the search is validated using multiple methods. No significant deviations from the predictions have been observed. For a wide range of final state topologies, agreement is found between the data and the standard model simulation. This analysis complements dedicated search analyses by significantly expanding the range of final states covered using a model independent approach with the largest data set to date to probe phase space regions beyond the reach of previous general searches.Peer reviewe
