simulaciones a mediano y largo plazo”.
local, capacidad de desplazamiento o adaptación a las nuevas condiciones climáticas;
especies modeladas.
In Neotropical savannas, altitude affects the diversity of the Anisoptera but not the Zygoptera (Insecta: Odonata)
Lentic and lotic habitats, combined with varying altitudes, may have differential effects on communities of the Order Odonata. We sampled adult odonates at 94 waterbodies of the Orinoquía region of eastern Colombia. Our hypothesis was that species composition and richness, as well as abundance, would be affected by both altitude and habitat. Overall, 70 of the 100 species recorded in the study were sampled in both lotic and lentic environments, with 16 species (5 in the Suborder Zygoptera and 11 in the Suborder Anisoptera) occurring only in lentic habitats and 14 occurring exclusively in lotic habitats (13 Zygoptera, 1 Anisoptera). The results of the analysis indicated that the species richness and abundance of anisopterans were affected by altitude, whereas the diversity of zygopterans was not affected in any way. Despite these mixed findings, the results for anisopterans were consistent with the results of previous studies, which have indicated altitude as a primary determinant of the Odonata diversity through its effect on the dynamics of water flow and the shift from lentic to more lotic environments. Further studies over a more ample altitudinal gradient should provide more conclusive evidence, particularly regarding the role played by both altitude and habitat on the local diversity of odonates
The department of Casanare has been by historical tradition agricultural and livestock, until, thanks to discoveries in the oil area, in recent years, the production of the area has diversified a little by adding this item. The observation of impacts on the environment, the poor quality of water for human consumption and that which is destined for production, shows that the lack of constant and consistent environmental protection measures in this department has resulted in dangerous environmental impacts for the ecosystem and for the inhabitants of the area, putting it in a vulnerable position at a socio-environmental level.
These traditional production practices, and their lack of supervision and informative guides, for so many years, have deteriorated the soils, the waters, and have also generated erosion, especially on mountain slopes and water courses, which are heavily used in practices. agricultural and livestock. In the present investigation, below we will show in a synthetic way what have been the impacts that have marked the environment in the area, as well as why it is appropriate to affirm that these means of agricultural production have derived other problems in the department in the period 2015 - 2020

Road safety evaluation through automatic extraction of road horizontal alignments from Mobile LiDAR System and inductive reasoning based on a decision tree
13 p.Safe roads are a necessity for any society because of the high social costs of traffic accidents. This challenge is addressed by a novel methodology that allows us to evaluate road safety from Mobile LiDAR System data, taking advantage of the road alignment due to its influence on the accident rate. Automation is obtained through an inductive reasoning process based on a decision tree that provides a potential risk assessment. To achieve this, a 3D point cloud is classified by an iterative and incremental algorithm based on a 2.5D and 3D Delaunay triangulation, which apply different algorithms sequentially. Next, an automatic extraction process of road horizontal alignment parameters is developed to obtain geometric consistency indexes, based on a joint triple stability criterion. Likewise, this work aims to provide a powerful and effective preventive and/or predictive tool for road safety inspections. The proposed methodology was implemented on three stretches of Spanish roads, each with different traffic conditions that represent the most common road types. The developed methodology was successfully validated through as-built road projects, which were considered as “ground truth.”S
Testing gravitational-wave searches with numerical relativity waveforms: Results from the first Numerical INJection Analysis (NINJA) project
The Numerical INJection Analysis (NINJA) project is a collaborative effort
between members of the numerical relativity and gravitational-wave data
analysis communities. The purpose of NINJA is to study the sensitivity of
existing gravitational-wave search algorithms using numerically generated
waveforms and to foster closer collaboration between the numerical relativity
and data analysis communities. We describe the results of the first NINJA
analysis which focused on gravitational waveforms from binary black hole
coalescence. Ten numerical relativity groups contributed numerical data which
were used to generate a set of gravitational-wave signals. These signals were
injected into a simulated data set, designed to mimic the response of the
Initial LIGO and Virgo gravitational-wave detectors. Nine groups analysed this
data using search and parameter-estimation pipelines. Matched filter
algorithms, un-modelled-burst searches and Bayesian parameter-estimation and
model-selection algorithms were applied to the data. We report the efficiency
of these search methods in detecting the numerical waveforms and measuring
their parameters. We describe preliminary comparisons between the different
search methods and suggest improvements for future NINJA analyses.Comment: 56 pages, 25 figures; various clarifications; accepted to CQ
Cosmic CARNage I: on the calibration of galaxy formation models
We present a comparison of nine galaxy formation models, eight semi-analytical, and one halo occupation distribution model, run on the same underlying cold dark matter simulation (cosmological box of comoving width 125h−1 Mpc, with a dark-matter particle mass of 1.24 × 109h−1M) and the same merger trees. While their free parameters have been calibrated to the same observational data sets using two approaches, they nevertheless retain some ‘memory’ of any previous calibration that served as the starting point (especially for the manually tuned models). For the first calibration, models reproduce the observed z = 0 galaxy stellar mass function (SMF) within 3σ. The second calibration extended the observational data to include the z = 2 SMF alongside the z ∼ 0 star formation rate function, cold gas mass, and the black hole–bulge mass relation. Encapsulating the observed evolution of the SMF from z = 2 to 0 is found to be very hard within the context of the physics currently included in the models. We finally use our calibrated models to study the evolution of the stellar-to-halo mass (SHM) ratio. For all models, we find that the peak value of the SHM relation decreases with redshift. However, the trends seen for the evolution of the peak position as well as the mean scatter in the SHM relation are rather weak and strongly model dependent. Both the calibration data sets and model results are publicly available
