    Varities of six vegetable crops and potatoes were evaluated in organic situations grown in replicated field trials on UKROFS organic sites. In most cases the results differed from those which would have been obtained in conventional trials as there was no chemical protection against pests and diseases and lower levels of available nutrients.     This study aimed to study varieties of cabbage, carrots, parsnips, potatoes and swedes under organic conditions and to determine significant factors in the organic production systems that affect variety performance. Additional investigations were carried out with potatoes to study the effects of blight and potato cyst nematode. All trials were conducted on UKROFS registered sites and to appropriate organic husbandry standards. Measurements and assessments followed guidelines used for conventional trials, with quality criteria being based upon the requirements of the retail trade. Any assessment of colour and shape would be in line with established charts and descriptions. Results of the study will provide advice and recommendations to organic growers for variety selection and will identify whether dedicated organic trials are necessary for valid variety comparison

    Studi Deskriptif tentang Tingkat Kepercayaan Diri Siswa Kelas XI SMA Negeri 42 Jakarta

    Kepercayaan diri adalah kemampuan dan keyakinan seseorang terhadap dirinya sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan tingkat kepercayaan diri siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 42 Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan mengunakan skala kepercayaan diri siswa, pada 167 siswa SMAN 42 Jakarta. Berdasarkan hasil analisis deskriptif statistik dari kepercayaan diri siswa menghasilkan data Modus (93.0), Median (93.0), Mean (95.0), Standar Deviasi (16.7), Nilai Minimum (50,0), dan Nilai Maximum (137.0). Berdasarkan kategori jenis kelamin, diperoleh bahwasanya tingkat kepercayaan diri tinggi, siswa laki-laki memiliki presentase nilai yang lebih besar daripada siswa perempuan yakni sebesar 23,72%. Sedangkan hasil analisis berdasarkan pengkategorian kelas menunjukan bahwa kepercayaan diri tinggi, ruang kelas yang memiliki presentase paling besar adalah kelas XI-8 yakni sebesar 37,50% dan kelas yang memiliki presentase paling kecil adalah kelas XI-5 dengan presentase sebesar 0% . setiap kelas memiliki tingkat kepercayaan diri yang berbeda-beda. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa jenis kelamin dan lingkungan merupakan 2 dari banyaknya faktor yang mempengaruhi kepercayaan diri siswa. This study aims to describe the level of self-confidence of class XI students at 42 State Senior High School Jakarta. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Data collection was carried out using a student self-confidence scale, on 167 students of 42 State Senior High School Jakarta. Based on the results of a descriptive statistical analysis of student self-confidence, it produces data on Mode (93.0), Median (93.0), Mean (95.0), Standard Deviation (16.7), Minimum Value (50.0), and Maximum Value (137.0). Based on the gender category, it was found that the level of self-confidence was high, male students had a greater percentage of scores than female students, namely 23.72%. While the results of the analysis based on class categorization show that self-confidence is high, the class that has the greatest percentage is class XI-8 which is equal to 37.50% and the class which has the smallest percentage is class XI-5 with a percentage of 0%. Each class has a different level of confidence. Thus it can be concluded that gender and environment are 2 of the many factors that affect the level of student selfconfidence.     Managing soil fertility in organic farming systems

    Complex relationships exist between different components of the organic farm and the quantity and quality of the end products depend on the functioning of the whole system. As such, it is very difficult to isolate soil fertility from production and environmental aspects of the system. Crop rotation is the central tool that integrates the maintenance and development of soil fertility with different aspects of crop and livestock production in organic systems. Nutrient supply to crops depends on the use of legumes to add nitrogen to the system and limited inputs of supplementary nutrients, added in acceptable forms. Manures and crop residues are carefully managed to recycle nutrients around the farm. Management of soil organic matter, primarily through the use of short-term leys, helps ensure good soil structure and biological activity, important for nutrient supply, health and productivity of both crops and livestock. Carefully planned diverse rotations help reduce the incidence of pests and diseases and allow for cultural methods of weed control. As a result of the complex interactions between different system components, fertility management in organic farming relies on a long-term integrated approach rather than the more short-term very targeted solutions common in conventional agriculture

    KEMAMPUAN MENULIS DONGENG PADA SISWA KELAS V SEKOLAH DASAR NEGERI JARAKAN SEWON BANTUL

    AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis dongeng pada siswa kelas V SDN Jarakan Kecamatan Sewon Kabupaten Bantul. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDN Jarakan Kecamatan Sewon Kabupaten Bantul yang berjumlah 47 siswa. Jenis Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yangmenggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian adalah siswa kelas V dengan jumlah populasi sebanyak 47 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan tes. Hasil tes kemampuan menulis dongeng pada siswa SDN Jarakan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagaian besar siswa dengan presentase 61,70% telah mampu menulis dongeng dengan baik. Dikatakan baik karena siswa telah mampu menulis dongeng dengan memenuhi kriteria penelitian yaitu isi gagasan yang dikemukakan, organisasi isi, struktur tata bahasa, gaya pilihan kata, dan ejaan tata bahasa. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan adanya 29 siswa dari 47 siswa atau 61,70% telah mencapai KKM, sedangkan 18 atau 38,70% siswa lainnya belum mencapai KKM.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Menulis Dongeng Siswa Sekolah Dasar.AbstractThis study aimed to analyze the ability to write traditional stories among Grade V students of SDN jarakan, Sewon District, Bantul Regency. The Study employed the quantitative descriptive approach. The research population comprised Grade V students of SDN Jarakan, Sewon District, Bantul Regency, with a total of 47 students. This was a quantitative study using a quantitative descriptive analysis. The research subjects were grade V students constituting a population of 47 students. The data were collected through a test of writing traditional stories for students of SDN Jarakan. The results of the study showed that most of the students were able to write traditional stories well. This was indicated bythe number of students attaining the Minimum Mastery Criterion (MMC), namely 29 students or 61.70% and not attaining the MMC, namely 18 students or 38.70%Keywords: the ability to write traditional storie
