Fractal von Neumann entropy
We consider the {\it fractal von Neumann entropy} associated with the {\it
fractal distribution function} and we obtain for some {\it universal classes h
of fractons} their entropies. We obtain also for each of these classes a {\it
fractal-deformed Heisenberg algebra}. This one takes into account the braid
group structure of these objects which live in two-dimensional multiply
connected space.Comment: latex, 9 pages, typos correcte
An empirical biometric-based study for user identification from different roles in the online game League of Legends
© 2017 CEUR-WS. All rights reserved. The popularity of computer games has grown exponentially in the last few years. In some games, players can choose to play with different characters from a pre-defined list, exercising distinct roles in each match. Although such games were created to promote competition and promote self-improvement, there are several recurrent issues. One that has received the least amount of attention is the problem of "account sharing" so far is when a player pays more experienced players to progressing in the game. The companies running those games tend to punish this behaviour, but this specific case is hard to identify. The aim of this study is to use a database of mouse and keystroke dynamics biometric data of League of Legends players as a case study to understand the specific characteristics a player will keep (or not) when playing different roles and distinct characters
Non-Associativity in the Clifford Bundle on the Parallelizable Torsion 7-Sphere
In this paper we discuss generalized properties of non-associativity in
Clifford bundles on the 7-sphere S7. Novel and prominent properties inherited
from the non-associative structure of the Clifford bundle on S7 are
demonstrated. They naturally lead to general transformations of the spinor
fields on S7 and have dramatic consequences for the associated Kac-Moody
current algebras. All additional properties concerning the non-associative
structure in the Clifford bundle on S7 are considered. We further discuss and
explore their applications.Comment: 16 page
Information-entropic analysis of Korteweg--de Vries solitons in the quark-gluon plasma
Solitary waves propagation of baryonic density perturbations, ruled by the
Korteweg--de Vries equation in a mean-field quark-gluon plasma model, are
investigated from the point of view of the theory of information. A recently
proposed continuous logarithmic measure of information, called configurational
entropy, is used to derive the soliton width, defining the pulse, for which the
informational content of the soliton spatial profile is more compressed, in the
Shannon's sense.Comment: 6 pages, 1 figur
Ideology and total war : military intellectuals and the analysis of the Spanish Civil War in Britain, 1936-1943
The recent historical interest in the analysis of the lessons of the Spanish Civil War by the European powers has tended to focus very strongly on the tactical experiences and the study of new military technology. This has led to the implied assumption that much of this analysis took place within a closed, professional military environment. In the case of Britain, however, the military debate on the lessons and significance of the civil war was conducted in a much more public fashion than in many other countries. For this reason, and due to the considerable political controversy over the official government policy of non-intervention, ideology played a significant role in the analyses of the unfolding military drama in Spain. This article considers the way in which ideology affected military interpretations of the conflict – and the employment of these analyses for ideological purposes – by examining the public debate, the reaction of British intelligence and the views of four "military intellectuals" who commented on the conflict in newspaper articles, books, and in memoranda written for military intelligenc
Unfolding Physics from the Algebraic Classification of Spinor Fields
After reviewing the Lounesto spinor field classification, according to the
bilinear covariants associated to a spinor field, we call attention and unravel
some prominent features involving unexpected properties about spinor fields
under such classification. In particular, we pithily focus on the new aspects
--- as well as current concrete possibilities. They mainly arise when we deal
with some non-standard spinor fields concerning, in particular, their
applications in physics.Comment: 6 pages, accepted for publication in PL
Singular stochastic equations on Hilbert spaces: Harnack inequalities for their transition semigroups
We consider stochastic equations in Hilbert spaces with singular drift in the
framework of [Da Prato, R\"ockner, PTRF 2002]. We prove a Harnack inequality
(in the sense of [Wang, PTRF 1997]) for its transition semigroup and exploit
its consequences. In particular, we prove regularizing and ultraboundedness
properties of the transition semigroup as well as that the corresponding
Kolmogorov operator has at most one infinitesimally invariant measure
(satisfying some mild integrability conditions). Finally, we prove existence of
such a measure for non-continuous drifts
Gravitational constraints of dS branes in AdS Einstein-Brans-Dicke bulk
We derive the full projected Einstein-Brans-Dicke gravitational equations
associated with a n-dimensional brane embedded in a (n+1)-dimensional bulk. By
making use of general conditions, as the positivity of the Brans-Dicke
parameter and the effective Newton gravitational constant as well, we are able
to constrain the brane cosmological constant in terms of the brane tension, the
Brans-Dicke scalar field, and the trace of the stress tensor on the brane, in
order to achieve a brane. Applying these constraints to a specific
five-dimensional model, a lower bound for the scalar field on the brane is
elicited without solving the full equations. It is shown under which conditions
the brane effective cosmological constant can be ignored in the brane projected
gravitational field equations, suggesting a different fine tuning between the
brane tension and the bulk cosmological.Comment: 9 pages, revTe
