    Srbija pred implementacijom SEUROP standarda za klasifikaciju goveđih trupova - zakonska regulativa, parametri i kriterijumi ocene - deo A

    Agriculture of the Republic of Serbia is going through significant reforms in legislation and agricultural policy, during this EU preaccession period, in order to comply to one of the most important EU policies - Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The potential and tradition of Serbia in production of beef, on one hand and EU market needs on the other, impose the need for timely preparations from the legislative and technological aspect and human resources. Present study gives the review of major legislative regulations and main parameters of SEUROP beef classification system in sense of definition, presentation and categorization of carcass, as well as criteria in conformation evaluation and fat cover of the carcass.Poljoprivreda Srbije u pretpristupnom periodu EU, prolazi kroz značajne reforme zakonodavstva i agrarne politike kako bi se prilagodila jednoj od najznačajnijih EU politika- Zajedničkoj poljoprivrednoj politici. Potencijal i tradicija naÅ”e zemlje u proizvodnji junećeg mesa sa jedne i potrebe tržiÅ”ta EU sa druge strane, nameću potrebu za blagovremenim obavljanjem priprema u zakonodavnom, tehničkom i kadrovskom smislu. SEUROP standard je koncipiran da omogući 'zajednički EU jezik' koji opisuje kvalitet junećih trupova kao i analitiku baze podataka o životinjama, rezultatima klasifikacije i cenama Å”to je od velikog značaja za primenu različitih mera podrÅ”ke na tržiÅ”tu unije. Obzirom da ovaj sistem podržava isplatu odgajivačima prema kvalitetu trupova, ovo je i važan instrument kojim se podstiče rad na unapređenju genotipova, ishrane i tehnologije u govedarstvu. U radu je dat pregled najvažnijih zakonskih regulativa i osnovnih parametara SEUROP klasifikacije junećeg mesa u smislu definicije, prezentacije i kategorizacije trupa kao i kriterijuma u oceni konformacije i prekrivenosti trupa lojem

    Resuscitation after prolonged cardiac arrest: effects of cardiopulmonary bypass and sodium-hydrogen exchange inhibition on myocardial and neurological recovery

    Objective: To determine if cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), together with inhibition of the sodium-hydrogen exchanger (NHE), limits myocardial and neurological injury and improves recovery after prolonged (unwitnessed) cardiac arrest (CA), as NHE inhibition improved recovery after deep hypothermic circulatory arrest. Methods: Twenty-seven pigs (31-39 kg) underwent 15 min of prolonged (no-flow) CA followed by 10 min of cardiopulmonary resuscitation-advanced life support (CPR-ALS). Subjects with restoration of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) during CPR-ALS received either no drug (n = 6) or an inhibitor of the NHE (HOE-642; n = 5). In the 16 unsuccessfully resuscitated animals, peripheral normothermic CPB was instituted, and either no drug (n = 9) or similar HOE-642 (n = 7) therapy started. Hemodynamic data, a species-specific neurological deficit score (0 = normal to 500 = brain death), and mortality were recorded at 24 h, and biochemical variables of organ injury measured. Results: CPR-ALS restored ROSC in 41% (11/27) of animals, but was unsuccessful in 59% (16/27) that required CPB. Without CPB, HOE-642 increased cardiac index and decreased vascular resistance; with CPB, HOE-642 caused higher pump flows (3.4 +/- 0.6 l min(-1) m(-2) vs 2.5 +/- 0.7 l min(-1) m(-2); p < 0.001) and higher post-arrest cardiac index; but animals required more vasopressors (p = 0.019) from drug-induced vasodilation. No differences between biochemical markers of oxidative and organ injury and overall 24-h mortality (20%) were found between groups. Neurological score was improved at 24 h compared with 4 h only after HOE-642 treatment with (150 +/- 34 vs 220 +/- 43; p = 0.003) or without CPB (162 +/- 39 vs 238 +/- 48; p <= 0.001), but failed to reach statistical difference with respect to the untreated group. Conclusions: CPB is an effective resuscitative tool to treat prolonged CA but there is limited improvement of neurological function. NHE inhibition augments cardiac and neurological function, but its effect was less pronounced than in other studies. (C) 2011 Published by Elsevier B.     Pyogenic abscesses are rare and difficult problem for modern surgery because of the high mortality rate. After the 70s of the last century the introduction of new image methods as ultrasound diagnostics, percutaneous and direct cholangiography and biliary drainage, guided aspiration, and percutaneous drainage of the abscess cavity dramatically changed both the diagnosis and treatment of these patients. The routine diagnostic methods are ultrasound and CT scan. Percutaneous aspiration and drainage under ultrasound or CT control is applied as first-line treatment of hepatic abscesses.Scripta Scientifica Medica 2008; 40(2): 137-139

    Polymorphism of microsatellite loci in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and related species

    This study analysed polymorphism of 15 microsatellite loci in the colĀ­lection comprising of 40 genotypes of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), 32 genotypes belonging to other species within Triticum genus and 3 genotypes from Aegilops genus. The results showed significant differences in the variability of the tested loci in bread wheat and related species. In the collection of bread wheat genotypes, 119 alleles were detected with the average number of 7.9 alleles per locus. In wild and cultivated related species 157 alleles were identified, with the average of 10.5 alleles per locus. All analysed parameters of microĀ­satellite loci variability (PIC value, gene diversity, heterozygosity, etc.) indicated higher level of polymorphism in wild relatives than in the cultivated bread wheat. Analyses of individual genomes indicated that in the bread wheat genetic diversity of the B and D genomes was significantly reduced in relation to the A genome, while the differences in polymorphism between genomes in the wild relatives were significantly lower.     Study of the Ī›ā€“Ī› interaction with femtoscopy correlations in pp and pā€“Pb collisions at the LHC

    This work presents new constraints on the existence and the binding energy of a possible ā€“ bound state, the H-dibaryon, derived from ā€“ femtoscopic measurements by the ALICE collaboration. The results are obtained from a new measurement using the femtoscopy technique in pp collisions at āˆšs = 13 TeV and pā€“Pb collisions at āˆšsNN = 5.02 TeV, combined with previously published results from pp collisions at āˆšs = 7 TeV. The ā€“ scattering parameter space, spanned by the inverse scattering length f āˆ’1 0 and the effective range d0, is constrained by comparing the measured ā€“ correlation function with calculations obtained within the LednickĆ½ model. The data are compatible with hypernuclei results and lattice computations, both predicting a shallow attractive interaction, and permit to test different theoretical approaches describing the ā€“ interaction. The region in the (f āˆ’1 0 ,d0) plane which would accommodate a ā€“ bound state is substantially restricted compared to previous studies. The binding energy of the possible ā€“ bound state is estimated within an effective-range expansion approach and is found to be B = 3.2+1.6 āˆ’2.4(stat)+1.8 āˆ’1.0(syst) MeV
