Objective: To describe the demographic, clinical and microbiological characteristics of patients with carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae infections. hospitalized in adult intensive care units in a fourth level institution in Ibagu?-Tolima in the period from June 2020 to June 2021. Materials and Methods: observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study. Results: Of the 38 patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit, 60.5% were women, the average age was 67.3 years, 86.8% came from the urban area. 68.4% had hypertension and 50% had type 2 diabetes mellitus. 97.4% used invasive mechanical ventilation and 100% used central and urinary catheters. The most frequently presented clinical complication was septic shock with 73.7%. 76.3% of the patients died. There is a high percentage of resistance to carbapenems greater than 89%. Conclusion: The data obtained in this study coincide with the literature reviewed. KPC infection occurred more frequently in patients of advanced age and with a history of comorbidities. There were high percentages of resistance to carbapenemic antibiotics, limiting the therapeutic options. Therefore, the institution is recommended to socialize the results of this study in order to rigorously implement standard biosafety precautions and improve the appropriate use of antibiotics. Measurement of charged particle spectra in minimum-bias events from proton-proton collisions at root s =13 TeV

Pseudorapidity, transverse momentum, and multiplicity distributions are measured in the pseudorapidity range vertical bar eta vertical bar 0.5 GeV in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of root s = 13 TeV. Measurements are presented in three different event categories. The most inclusive of the categories corresponds to an inelastic pp data set, while the other two categories are exclusive subsets of the inelastic sample that are either enhanced or depleted in single diffractive dissociation events. The measurements are compared to predictions from Monte Carlo event generators used to describe high-energy hadronic interactions in collider and cosmic-ray physics.Peer reviewe
