New edition of P.Ryl. III 480, here identified as belonging to the 28th book of Justinian's Digest. The fragment, as well as P.Ryl. III 479, comes from a sixth-century papyrus codex that was part of an edition of the Digest in multiple tomes

On the basis of the clues inferable from the current bibliography and some archival documents so far unnoticed, this is an attempt to reconstruct the circumstances of the loss of ff. 115-116 of the palimpsest manuscript Milano, Biblioteca Ambrosiana, L 120 sup., concisely reported by J.-M. Sauget («MAL» 29/5, 1987)
