Buffalo & Erie County Public Library Board

The Board consists of 15 members. The B&ECPL board is a volunteer position. There are however, some requirements an applicant must meet. Eight of the board members must be residents of the city of Buffalo. The Board members serve in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 768 of the Laws of the 1953 State of New York, known as “An Act authorizing the consolidation of city and public libraries.” The board members are also governed by Article 16 “Other County Boards, Offices, Institutions, and Functions” of the Erie County Administrative Code

Eftersom startsidan är den sida som besöks mest jämfört med alla andrawebbsidor i portalen innebär det i sin tur att denna funktion utnyttjas väldigt ofta.Detta arbete syftar till att finna ett antal olika metoder som kan användas för att uppnå denna funktion ochatt ta reda på hur väl dessa webbdelar presterar.Denna rapport presenterar både de olika metoder som fanns och resultaten på en systematisk testning avdessa. Resultaten av testerna presenteras på ett överskådligt sätt.Slutligen dras slutsatser angående resultaten. Resultaten förespråkar inte en specifik metod, den metod somlämpar sig bäst för varje enskild sammanhang avgörs till största del av andra faktorer såsom frekvens avbesökare eller ändringar på innehållet som metoden söker igenom

‘The face of evil’ : gothic biofiction and figures of enduring terror in a post-9/11 world

In this article, I show that the Gothic’s preoccupation with appearances is a rhetorical and narrative device that can be traced throughout the immediate post-9/11 period and the military campaigns that followed in both non-fiction and fiction texts. Through my analysis of two works of fiction by Martin Amis and Judith Thompson, I argue that physical appearance was employed as a marker of evil intent in order to obscure the political and territorial intentions of the Bush Administration and the American military in Afghanistan and Iraq. Further, I contend that the persistent effect of two “faces of evil” is evident through the ongoing American preoccupation with the appearance and capacity of the Other to inflict terror, which becomes an unconscious act of self-recognition.peer-reviewe
