Edictum proponere: nota a margine dell'editto di Galerio (30 aprile 311)
The paper explains the meaning of the expressions used by the sources in reference to the publication of the Edict of Galerius and casts light on the concrete ways of the publication of the same edict. The research, which embraces also the first antichristian Diocletian's edict, demonstrates that the two documents were probably published on a light and perishable support and posted up in public places
English and its Lingua Flankas: Some systematic features of English-based cryptic anti-languages
This article explores the dual nature of language as a tool for both inclusion and exclusion. It discusses the phenomenon of anti-languages distinguishing between incomprehensibility and crypticity, and highlighting how certain linguistic features can be decoded through systematic mechanisms. The study provides a comprehensive analysis of various forms of crypticity in English, including the use of cross linguistic borrowings (real or invented), reduction, transposition (e.g. backslang), and rhyming slang, illustrating how these features serve to obstruct comprehension while simultaneously offering access to the initiated few. Inevitably, given the nature of the subject matter, some of the lexis and the expressions discussed may be obscene in nature and offensive to some readers.
Democratic Confederalism and the Theory of History: Historical Ontologies of Political Alternative in Bookchin, Öcalan, and Graeber
This paper aims to discuss the "historical ontology of political alternative" emerging from the work of Abdullah Öcalan by comparing it to the ones of two other authors: Murray Bookchin, who has notoriously influenced his thought, and David Graeber, whose interest for the Kurdish movement and the thought of Öcalan has been significantly overlooked so far. The analysis delves into how the three authors frame the conditions of possibility for the historical emergence of radical political alternatives. Special attention is given to the contrasts between Bookchin and Öcalan in this respect, with special attention to the couple continuity/discontinuity and archaic/modern, to their distinctive views of dialectics and of the articulation between the dialectical poles, and to the roles of consciousness and knowledge in their political and historical reflections. Additionally, it investigates the theoretical and political convergence between Öcalan and Graeber, focusing on the notions, respectively, of democratic civilisation and baseline communism

Feminist Responses to Anti-Abortion Attacks in Italy and Slovenia. Building Democratic Innovations in Contexts of De-Democratization
This paper examines contemporary feminist movements’ repertoires of action in Italy and Slovenia in response to informal challenges to abortion rights amidst the rise of anti-gender mobilizations and processes of de-democratization. While legal frameworks protecting abortion remain intact in both countries, informal barriers, forms of boycott and hijack of existing laws, such as misinformation, conscientious objection, and judgmental discourses undermine access to reproductive rights. Through qualitative analysis of interviews with feminist activists, the study identifies innovative grassroots practices – such as mapping conscientious objectors, accompaniment services, and public education campaigns – as key “democratic innovations.” These actions not only address gaps left by institutional frameworks but also promote self-determination, solidarity, and care-based peer support. By analyzing these feminist repertoires, the paper highlights how grassroot strategies counteract anti-abortion threats and stimulate democratic resilience in contexts of de-democratization. It contributes to the literature on feminist democratic innovations by expanding the understanding of how movements engage in transformative practices beyond formal political arenas to safeguard reproductive autonomy
