The aim of this research work is to propose a special didactics offer that can also guaranteedisabled young people the opportunity to practice swimming. The sports system,and therefore also that of swimming activities, has the duty to pursue the goal of accessibilityto all, and it is clear how important it is to structure a sports didactics strategyaimed at the sports development of disabled children with consequent positive effectson social aspects, such as inclusion and increased self-esteem and autonomy. In this regard,we will analyze the experimentation inherent a field research carried out on a sampleof 18 disabled children, over a period of 10 weeks, in order to identify the mosteffective and efficient proposal for special sports didactics both in athletic and socialterms.Lo scopo del presente lavoro di ricerca è quello di proporre un’offerta di didattica specialein grado di garantire anche ai giovani disabili l’opportunità di praticare la disciplina delnuoto. Il sistema sportivo e quindi anche quello delle attività natatorie ha il dovere di perseguirel’obiettivo dell’accessibilità per tutti, ed appare evidente quanto sia importantestrutturare una strategia di didattica sportiva che miri allo sviluppo sportivo dei bambinidiversamente abili con conseguenti ricadute positive su aspetti sociali quali l’inclusione el’incremento dell’autostima e dell’autonomia. Minimally invasive intraoral approach to submandibular lodge

The purpose of this study is to describe the Minimally Invasive Intraoral Approach (MIIA) performed on selected cases of abscesses and neck phlegmons of odontogenic origin when the infection has not spread beyond the inferior mandibular margin. This technique allows us to avoid cervicotomy by a direct approach to the abscess, draining it through the oral cavity. If the limits have already been crossed, then cervicotomy is necessary. The aim of the study is to show the surgical outcomes that we have achieved during a time span of two years, and to show the effectiveness of the MIIA and its results. We selected 66 patients with abscesses and neck phlegmons, from January 2018 to June 2020. Among these cases, five patients were excluded as it was not possible to recover medical records from database. The MIIA technique has been performed on 16 patients (26.2%) when a successful dental extraction and drainage of the submandibular lodge were accomplished. The patients who underwent the MIIA surgery have all perfectly healed and did not suffer from relapses during the follow-up. The results show the achievement of excellent healing, underlining the lower impact required by MIIA when compared to a more traditional approach through cervicotomy

Capacitive actuation and switching of add\u2013drop graphene-silicon micro-ring filters

We propose and experimentally demonstrate capacitive actuation of a graphene\u2013silicon micro-ring add/drop filter. The mechanism is based on a silicon\u2013SiO2\u2013graphene capacitor on top of the ring waveguide. We show the capacitive actuation of the add/drop functionality by a voltage-driven change of the graphene optical absorption. The proposed capacitive solution overcomes the need for continuous heating to keep tuned the filter\u2019s in/out resonance and therefore eliminates \u201cin operation\u201d energy consumption

We report on the integration by transfer printing of III-V Fabry-Perot cavities on a silicon photonic circuit. We pre-process the III-V coupons on their native substrate, transfer print onto the target SOI, and post-process the printed coupons. We report light coupling into the photonic circuit

UN Peace operations and conflicting legitimacies

Analyses of UN peacekeeping increasingly consider legitimacy a key factor for success, conceiving of it as a resource that operations should seek and use in the pursuit of their goals. However, these analyses rarely break down legitimacy by source. Because the UN is an organization with multiple identities and duties however, different legitimacy sources—in particular output and procedural legitimacy—and the UN’s corresponding legitimation practices come into conflict in the context of peacekeeping. Drawing on a range of examples and a specific case of the UN mission in Congo, this article argues that looking at different legitimacy sources and linking them to the institutional identity of the UN is thus critical and it shows how the UN’s in contradictory legitimation practices can reduce overall legitimacy perceptions
