Elastic and scattering in the models of unitarized pomeron
Elastic scattering amplitudes dominated by the Pomeron singularity which obey
the principal unitarity bounds at high energies are constructed and analyzed.
Confronting the models of double and triple (at ) Pomeron pole
(supplemented by some terms responsible for the low energy behaviour) with
existing experimental data on and total and differential cross
sections at GeV and GeV we are able to tune
the form of the Pomeron singularity. Actually the good agreement with those
data is received for both models though the behaviour given by the dipole model
is more preferable in some aspects. The predictions made for the LHC energy
values display, however, the quite noticeable difference between the
predictions of models at GeV. Apparently the future
results of TOTEM will be more conclusive to make a true choice.Comment: Revtex4, 8 pages, 5 figures. Text is improved, no changes in figures

The soft and the hard pomerons in hadron elastic scattering at small t
We consider simple-pole descriptions of soft elastic scattering for pp, pbar
p, pi+ p, pi- p, K+ p and K- p. We work at t and s small enough for
rescatterings to be neglected, and allow for the presence of a hard pomeron.
After building and discussing an exhaustive dataset, we show that simple poles
provide an excellent description of the data in the region - 0.5 GeV^2 < t <
-0.1 GeV^2, 6 GeV<sqrt(s)< 63 GeV. We show that new form factors have to be
used, and get information on the trajectories of the soft and hard pomerons.Comment: 27 pages, 9 figures, LaTeX. A few typos fixed, and references

Reeconstructing Sigma0 decays in STAR
Typical comparisons of data from nuclear collisions to particle production
models require a caveat for (anti)Lambda yields from experimental inability to
separate the contributions of those yields from Sigma state decays. Recent
analysis in STAR is leading toward resolving the contribution from excited
Sigma states, but the bulk contribution comes from electromagnetic decays of
the (anti)Sigma0.
In the STAR detector, photon conversions into e+e- pairs in the detector
material have been used to identify photons from pi0 decays. A similar
technique has been used here to identify photons from (anti)Sigma0 decays in
conjunction with STAR's excellent PID capabilities for finding the associated
(anti)Lambda daughters. We report here on progress toward measuring the
(anti)Sigma0 yields in various nuclear collisions at RHIC.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures, proceedings of Hot Quarks 2004 workshop,

Forward Yields of the Secondary Light Nuclei in CC-collisions at Beam Energy 20.5 GeV/n on the Accelerator U-70 in Comparison with Models UrQMD, FTFP-BERT-EMV and QGSP-FTFP-BERT-EMV in the Framework of Geant4
The zero angle production of light nuclei has been studied in CC-interactions at beam energy 20.5 GeV/n on accelerator U-70. The measurements were performed with employing of the beamline no. 22 as spectrometer of secondary particles with verying its rigidity from 10 to 70 GeV/c. We observed secondary protons and deuterons with momenta above kinematic limit of NN-interactions. The measured dependence of forward yields on momentum are compared with the model predictions in the framework of Geant4. The models more or less correctly give positions of maxima of the distributions and their general qualitative dependence on the momentum. But in the quantitative predictions of the yields there are significant differences with the experiment which grow with increase of atomic mass number A
Ятрогенные повреждения лучевого нерва при остеосинтезе плечевой кости. Профилактика, диагностика и лечение
THE RELEVANCE is determined by the significant frequency of iatrogenic injuries of the radial nerve during internal osteosynthesis of the humerus, long-lasting functional disorders, a large number of unsatisfactory results, as well as the lack of a unified approach to diagnosis and treatment.MATERIAL AND METHODS. The causes of iatrogenic damage to the radial nerve were studied in 22 patients who underwent internal fixation during fractures of the humeral diaphysis. The ultrasound examination was used to visualize the radial nerve. In 13 patients (59.1%), a pathogenetic treatment was used, including medication, physical and mechanical therapy.RESULTS AND DISCUSSION. In plate osteosynthesis, a greater number of iatrogenic damage to the radial nerve was observed than during osteosynthesis with screws. The ultrasound method had high diagnostic values to determine the continuity of the nerve trunk and identify conflicts with solid structures. The use of pathogenetic therapy of neuropathy led to a more rapid clinical recovery of limb function.CONCLUSION. To prevent iatrogenic injuries and avoid gross manipulations, the access with sufficient visualization of the radial nerve is necessary in plate osteosynthesis and distal blocking outside the projection of the radial nerve is necessary in intramedullary osteosynthesis. Indications for early revision after iatrogenic damage are neurotmesis and a nerve conflict with bone fragments or an implant.
Recrudescence of massive fermion production by oscillons
We bring together the physics of preheating, following a period of inflation, and the dynamics of non-topological solitons, namely oscillons. We show that the oscillating condensate that makes up an oscillon can be an efficient engine for producing heavy fermions, just as a homogeneous condensate is known for doing the same. This then allows heavy fermions to be produced when the energy scale of the Universe has dropped below the scale naturally associated to the fermions
Multi-particle azimuthal correlations in p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider
Measurements of multi-particle azimuthal correlations (cumulants) for charged
particles in p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions are presented. They help address the
question of whether there is evidence for global, flow-like, azimuthal
correlations in the p-Pb system. Comparisons are made to measurements from the
larger Pb-Pb system, where such evidence is established. In particular, the
second harmonic two-particle cumulants are found to decrease with multiplicity,
characteristic of a dominance of few-particle correlations in p-Pb collisions.
However, when a gap is placed to suppress such correlations,
the two-particle cumulants begin to rise at high-multiplicity, indicating the
presence of global azimuthal correlations. The Pb-Pb values are higher than the
p-Pb values at similar multiplicities. In both systems, the second harmonic
four-particle cumulants exhibit a transition from positive to negative values
when the multiplicity increases. The negative values allow for a measurement of
to be made, which is found to be higher in Pb-Pb collisions at
similar multiplicities. The second harmonic six-particle cumulants are also
found to be higher in Pb-Pb collisions. In Pb-Pb collisions, we generally find
which is indicative of a Bessel-Gaussian
function for the distribution. For very high-multiplicity Pb-Pb
collisions, we observe that the four- and six-particle cumulants become
consistent with 0. Finally, third harmonic two-particle cumulants in p-Pb and
Pb-Pb are measured. These are found to be similar for overlapping
multiplicities, when a gap is placed.Comment: 25 pages, 11 captioned figures, 3 tables, authors from page 20,

Multiplicity dependence of jet-like two-particle correlations in p-Pb collisions at = 5.02 TeV
Two-particle angular correlations between unidentified charged trigger and
associated particles are measured by the ALICE detector in p-Pb collisions at a
nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV. The transverse-momentum
range 0.7 5.0 GeV/ is examined,
to include correlations induced by jets originating from low
momen\-tum-transfer scatterings (minijets). The correlations expressed as
associated yield per trigger particle are obtained in the pseudorapidity range
. The near-side long-range pseudorapidity correlations observed in
high-multiplicity p-Pb collisions are subtracted from both near-side
short-range and away-side correlations in order to remove the non-jet-like
components. The yields in the jet-like peaks are found to be invariant with
event multiplicity with the exception of events with low multiplicity. This
invariance is consistent with the particles being produced via the incoherent
fragmentation of multiple parton--parton scatterings, while the yield related
to the previously observed ridge structures is not jet-related. The number of
uncorrelated sources of particle production is found to increase linearly with
multiplicity, suggesting no saturation of the number of multi-parton
interactions even in the highest multiplicity p-Pb collisions. Further, the
number scales in the intermediate multiplicity region with the number of binary
nucleon-nucleon collisions estimated with a Glauber Monte-Carlo simulation.Comment: 23 pages, 6 captioned figures, 1 table, authors from page 17,

Charge separation relative to the reaction plane in Pb-Pb collisions at TeV
Measurements of charge dependent azimuthal correlations with the ALICE
detector at the LHC are reported for Pb-Pb collisions at TeV. Two- and three-particle charge-dependent azimuthal correlations in
the pseudo-rapidity range are presented as a function of the
collision centrality, particle separation in pseudo-rapidity, and transverse
momentum. A clear signal compatible with a charge-dependent separation relative
to the reaction plane is observed, which shows little or no collision energy
dependence when compared to measurements at RHIC energies. This provides a new
insight for understanding the nature of the charge dependent azimuthal
correlations observed at RHIC and LHC energies.Comment: 12 pages, 3 captioned figures, authors from page 2 to 6, published

A note on comonotonicity and positivity of the control components of decoupled quadratic FBSDE
In this small note we are concerned with the solution of Forward-Backward
Stochastic Differential Equations (FBSDE) with drivers that grow quadratically
in the control component (quadratic growth FBSDE or qgFBSDE). The main theorem
is a comparison result that allows comparing componentwise the signs of the
control processes of two different qgFBSDE. As a byproduct one obtains
conditions that allow establishing the positivity of the control process.Comment: accepted for publicatio
