Adapting tam and ECT: continuance intention of e-shopping in Saudi Arabia
The objective of this study is to clarify the theoretical problem and identify factors that could explain the level of continuance intention of e-shopping in context of Saudi Arabia. The study proposes a revised technology acceptance model that integrates expectation confirmation theory to measure age differences with regard to continuance online shopping intentions. Structural equation model confirms model fit. The research findings confirm that Perceived
usefulness, enjoyment, and subjective norms are determinants of online shopping continuance. The structural weights are mostly equivalent between the young and old groups, but the regression path from subjective norms to perceived usefulness is not invariant, with that relationship being stronger for the younger respondents.
This research moves beyond online shopping intentions and includes factors affecting online shopping continuance. The model explains 65% of the intention to continue shopping online. The research findings suggest that online strategies cannot ignore either the direct and indirect effects on

A mechanism of Cu work function reduction in CsBr/Cu photocathodes
Thin films of CsBr deposited on Cu(100) have been proposed as next-generation photocathode materials for applications in particle accelerators and free-electron lasers. However, the mechanisms underlying an improved photocathode performance as well as their long-term stability remain poorly understood. We present Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations of the work function reduction following the application of CsBr thin film coatings to Cu photocathodes. The effects of both flat and rough interface and van der Waals forces are examined. Calculations suggest that CsBr films can reduce the Cu(100) work function by about 1.5 eV, which would explain the observed increase in quantum efficiency (QE) of coated vs. uncoated photocathodes. A model explaining the experimentally observed laser activation of photocathodes is provided whereby the photo-induced creation of Br vacancies and Cs-Br di-vacancies and their subsequent diffusion to the Cu/CsBr interface lead to a further increase in QE after a period of laser irradiation
Old World cutaneous leishmaniasis treatment response varies depending on parasite species, geographical location and development of secondary infection
Background: In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Leishmania major and L. tropica are the main causative agents of Old World cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL). The national CL treatment regimen consists of topical 1% clotrimazole/2% fusidic acid cream followed by 1–2 courses of intralesional sodium stibogluconate (SSG); however, treatment efficacy is highly variable and the reasons for this are not well understood. In this study, we present a complete epidemiological map of CL and determined the efficacy of the standard CL treatment regime in several endemic regions of KSA.Results: Overall, three quarters of patients in all CL-endemic areas studied responded satisfactorily to the current treatment regime, with the remaining requiring only an extra course of SSG. The majority of unresponsive cases were infected with L. tropica. Furthermore, the development of secondary infections (SI) around or within the CL lesion significantly favoured the treatment response of L. major patients but had no effect on L. tropica cases.Conclusions: The response of CL patients to a national treatment protocol appears to depend on several factors, including Leishmania parasite species, geographical location and occurrences of SI. Our findings suggest there is a need to implement alternative CL treatment protocols based on these parameters
Doing politics in the recent Arab uprisings: Towards a political discourse analysis of the Arab Spring slogans
The present paper aims to analyse a number of those slogans collected from the sit-in quarters in Egypt,
Libya and Yemen. Using political discourse analysis, it unravels various typical discourse structures and
strategies that are used in slogans in the construction of a sub-genre of political discourse in the Arab world.
Drawing data from several mediums, including banners, wall graffiti, audio-visual instruments, chanting,
speeches and songs, this paper tries to show the extent to which the slogans serve as a medium by which
political complaints and comments are dispensed and consumed. This paper draws on a rhetorical analysis to
find out their persuasive effect on shaping the Arab intellect and on the change of the political atmosphere
in the region. Lastly, this paper attempts to show to what extent the slogans meet the standards of political
discourse and whether they can be considered as a sub-genre of political discourse or not.IS
Photoinduced Br Desorption from CsBr Thin Films Grown on Cu(100)
Thin films of CsBr deposited onto metals such as copper are potential photocathode materials for light sources and other applications. We investigate desorption dynamics of Br atoms from CsBr films grown on insulator (KBr, LiF) and metal (Cu) substrates induced by sub-bandgap 6.4 eV laser pulses. The experimental results demonstrate that the peak kinetic energy of Br atoms desorbed from CsBr/Cu films is much lower than that for the hyperthermal desorption from CsBr/LiF films. Kelvin probe measurements indicate negative charge at the surface following Br desorption from CsBr/Cu films. Our ab initio calculations of excitons at CsBr surfaces demonstrate that this behavior can be explained by an exciton model of desorption including electron trapping at the CsBr surface. Trapped negative charges reduce the energy of surface excitons available for Br desorption. We examine the electron-trapping characteristics of low-coordinated sites at the surface, in particular, divacancies and kink sites. We also provide a model of cation desorption caused by Franck-Hertz excitation of F centers at the surface in the course of irradiation of CsBr/Cu films. These results provide new insights into the mechanisms of photoinduced structural evolution of alkali halide films on metal substrates and activation of metal photocathodes coated with CsBr
The HY5-PIF regulatory module coordinates light and temperature control of photosynthetic gene transcription
The ability to interpret daily and seasonal alterations in light and temperature signals is essential for plant survival. This is particularly important during seedling establishment when the phytochrome photoreceptors activate photosynthetic pigment production for photoautotrophic growth. Phytochromes accomplish this partly through the suppression of phytochrome interacting factors (PIFs), negative regulators of chlorophyll and carotenoid biosynthesis. While the bZIP transcription factor long hypocotyl 5 (HY5), a potent PIF antagonist, promotes photosynthetic pigment accumulation in response to light. Here we demonstrate that by directly targeting a common promoter cis-element (G-box), HY5 and PIFs form a dynamic activation-suppression transcriptional module responsive to light and temperature cues. This antagonistic regulatory module provides a simple, direct mechanism through which environmental change can redirect transcriptional control of genes required for photosynthesis and photoprotection. In the regulation of photopigment biosynthesis genes, HY5 and PIFs do not operate alone, but with the circadian clock. However, sudden changes in light or temperature conditions can trigger changes in HY5 and PIFs abundance that adjust the expression of common target genes to optimise photosynthetic performance and growth

Reconstructing institutional complexity in practice: A relational model of institutional work and complexity
This article develops a relational model of institutional work and complexity. This model advances current institutional debates on institutional complexity and institutional work in three ways. First, it provides a relational and dynamic perspective on institutional complexity by explaining how constellations of logics - and their degree of internal contradiction - are constructed rather than given. Second, it refines our current understanding of agency, intentionality and effort in institutional work by demonstrating how different dimensions of agency interact dynamically in the institutional work of reconstructing institutional complexity. Third, it situates institutional work in the everyday practice of individuals coping with the institutional complexities of their work. In doing so, it reconnects the construction of institutionally complex settings to the actions and interactions of the individuals who inhabit them
Centralization and directional preference: an updated systematic review with synthesis of previous evidence
Background: Centralization and directional preference are common management and prognostic factors in spinal symptoms. Objective: To update the previous systematic review. Design: Systematic review to synthesis multiple aspects of centralization and directional preference. Method: Contemporary search was made of multiple databases using relevant search terms. Abstracts and titles were filtered by two authors; relevant articles were independently reviewed by two authors for content, data extraction, and quality. Results: Forty-three additional relevant articles were found. The quality of the studies, using PEDro for randomized controlled trials, was moderate or high in six out of ten RCTs; moderate or high in six out of 12 cohort studies. Prevalence of centralization was 40%, the same as the previous review. Directional preference prevalence was only 26%, much lower than the previous review; but neither clinical response was recorded in about a third of patients. Centralization and directional preference were confirmed as key positive prognostic factors, certainly in patients with low back pain, but limited evidence for patients with neck pain. There was no evidence that these might be important treatment effect modifiers. One study evaluated reliability, and found generally poor levels, despite training. Conclusions: Centralization and directional preference are worthwhile indicators of prognosis, and should be routinely examined for even in patients with chronic low back pain. But they do not occur in all patients with spinal problems, and there was no evidence that they were treatment effect modifiers
Informal learning recognition through a cloud ecosystem
Learning and teaching processes, like all human activities, can be mediated through the use of tools. Information
and communication technologies are now widespread within education. Their use in the daily
life of teachers and learners affords engagement with educational activities at any place and time and not
necessarily linked to an institution or a certificate. In the absence of formal certification, learning under
these circumstances is known as informal learning. Despite the lack of certification, learning with technology
in this way presents opportunities to gather information about and present new ways of exploiting
an individual’s learning. Cloud technologies provide ways to achieve this through new architectures,
methodologies, and workflows that facilitate semantic tagging, recognition, and acknowledgment of informal
learning activities. The transparency and accessibility of cloud services mean that institutions and
learners can exploit existing knowledge to their mutual benefit. The TRAILER project facilitates this aim by
providing a technological framework using cloud services, a workflow, and a methodology. The services
facilitate the exchange of information and knowledge associated with informal learning activities ranging
from the use of social software through widgets, computer gaming, and remote laboratory experiments.
Data from these activities are shared among institutions, learners, and workers. The project demonstrates
the possibility of gathering information related to informal learning activities independently of the context
or tools used to carry them out
