In the last few years, a great attention was paid to the deep learning Techniques used for image analysis because of their ability to use machine learning techniques to transform input data into high level presentation. For the sake of accurate diagnosis, the medical field has a steadily growing interest in such technology especially in the diagnosis of melanoma. These deep learning networks work through making coarse segmentation, conventional filters and pooling layers. However, this segmentation of the skin lesions results in image of lower resolution than the original skin image. In this paper, we present deep learning based approaches to solve the problems in skin lesion analysis using a dermoscopic image containing skin tumor. The proposed models are trained and evaluated on standard benchmark datasets from the International Skin Imaging Collaboration (ISIC) 2018 Challenge. The proposed method achieves an accuracy of 96.67% for the validation set .The experimental tests carried out on a clinical dataset show that the classification performance using deep learning-based features performs better than the state-of-the-art technique

This research work is aimed at investing skin lesions classification problem using Convolution Neural Network (CNN) using cloud-server architecture. Using the cloud services and CNN, a real-time mobile-enabled skin lesions classification expert system “i-Rash” is proposed and developed. i-Rash aimed at early diagnosis of acne, eczema and psoriasis at remote locations. The classification model used in the “i-Rash” is developed using the CNN model “SqueezeNet”. The transfer learning approach is used for training the classification model and model is trained and tested on 1856 images. The benefit of using SqueezeNet results in a limited size of the trained model i.e. only 3 MB. For classifying new image, cloud-based architecture is used, and the trained model is deployed on a server. A new image is classified in fractions of seconds with overall accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of 97.21%, 94.42% and 98.14% respectively. i-Rash can serve in initial classification of skin lesions, hence, can play a very important role early classification of skin lesions for people living in remote areas

Image recognition and processing is a suitable tool in systems using machine learning methods. The addition of smartphones as complementary tools in the health area for diagnosis is a fact nowadays due to the advantages they present. Following the trend of providing tools for diagnosis, this research aimed to develop a prototype mobile application for the identification of oral lesions, including potentially malignant lesions, based on convolutional neural networks, as early detection of indications of possible types of cancer in the oral cavity. A mobile application was developed for the Android operating system that implemented the TensorFlow library and the Mobilenet V2 convolutional neural network model. The training of the model was performed by transfer learning with a database of 500 images distributed in five classes for recognition (Leukoplakia, Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1, Aphthous stomatitis, Nicotinic stomatitis, and No lesion). The 80% of the images were used for training and 20% for validation. It was obtained that the application presented at least 80% precision in the recognition of four class. The f1-score and area under curve metrics were used to evaluate performance. The developed mobile application presented an acceptable performance with metrics higher than 75% for the recognition of three lesions, on the other hand, it yielded an unfavorable performance lower than 70% for identifying nicotinic stomatitis cases with the chosen dataset
