Embryonic and larval development of Mystus gulio (Ham.)
Mystus gulio eggs are strongly adhesive and contain relatively small yolk (0.75-1.0 mm). The egg envelop is thick and transparent. First cleavage (two cells), four cells, eight cells, sixteen cells and multi cells stages were found 20, 25, 35-40, 60 and 70 minutes after fertilization, respectively. The morula stage was visualized within 1.5 h after fertilization. The heart beat visible and the circulatory system commenced after 16 h of fertilization. Embryos hatched 18-20h after activation of egg. The newly hatched larva measured 2.82±0.03 mm in length and 0.32±0.06 mg in weight. The yolk sac was fully absorbed by the third day though larvae commenced exogenous feeding even before completion of yolk absorption. A 5-day old post larva began wandering in search of food. Ten-day old post larvae endowed with eight branched rays in dorsal fin and seven in caudal fin. Fifteen-day old post larvae had the pectm:al spine become stout though the embryonic fin folds had to be disappeared. The length of fingerlings ranged from 25-30 mm after 30 days, and their external features were just like those of an adult except that they were not sexually matured
Year-round and rotational freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii and paddy farming: soil quality, production and economics
A study was carried out at five upazillas (Dumuria, Fakirhat, Pirojpur sadar, Gopalgonj sadar and Kalia) of five southern districts of Khulna, Bagerhat, Pirojpur, Gopalgonj and Narail to understand the comparative production performance and any effect on soil quality in case of year-round golda (Macrobrachium rosenbergii), alternate prawn-paddy and year-round paddy farming. A direct interview of 55 farmers was taken, using pretested questionnaire, and soil samples were taken from selected farms before and after each crop. Among the five upazillas, farmers in Gopalgonj sadar and Kalia are not practicing year-round golda. Rotational golda-paddy farming has been recorded to result in maximum profit, with the highest of Tk. 310,912/ha/year in 2003 at Dumuria. Only paddy farming is less profitable than other two cropping patterns, irrespective of study sites. The nutrient status of soil in rotational golda and paddy farming has been found improved, compared to that of only golda or paddy farming
Preliminary success on hormone induced captive breeding of goldspot mullet, Liza parsia (Ham.)
An attempt was made to breed goldspot mullet, Liza parsia in captivity through hormone induction. The fish started spawning 35-36 hours after a single dose of 2ml ova prim per kg body weight. Hatching of fertilized eggs completed within 42-48 hours after spawning. The mean hatching rate (%) was 71.33±12 corresponding to the fertilization rate (%) of 64±12. The larvae started its first external feeding on the third day and attained a length 2.5±0.25 mm. The salinity of both breeding and rearing cisterns was 20‰ and temperature was maintained at 22-23°C
Short-time scaling behavior of growing interfaces
The short-time evolution of a growing interface is studied within the
framework of the dynamic renormalization group approach for the
Kadar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) equation and for an idealized continuum model of
molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). The scaling behavior of response and correlation
functions is reminiscent of the ``initial slip'' behavior found in purely
dissipative critical relaxation (model A) and critical relaxation with
conserved order parameter (model B), respectively. Unlike model A the initial
slip exponent for the KPZ equation can be expressed by the dynamical exponent
z. In 1+1 dimensions, for which z is known exactly, the analytical theory for
the KPZ equation is confirmed by a Monte-Carlo simulation of a simple ballistic
deposition model. In 2+1 dimensions z is estimated from the short-time

Non-relativistic metrics with extremal limits
We present solutions of type IIB supergravity with z=2 Schrodinger
asymptotics that admit an extremal limit, i.e. the black hole horizon has a
double zero. These solutions are obtained as TsT transformations of the charged
planar black hole in AdS_5 \times S^5. Unlike the uncharged solution, the
Ramond-Ramond two-form is turned on. We study the thermodynamic properties of
these new solutions, and we show that the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy
density is 1/4\pi even in the extremal limit. We also consider the
TsT-transformed soliton and show that, for a special radius of the compact
circle, there is a confinement-deconfinement phase transition at zero

Expanding Universe: Thermodynamical Aspects From Different Models
The pivotal point of the paper is to discuss the behavior of temperature,
pressure, energy density as a function of volume along with determination of
caloric EoS from following two model: & .
The time scale of instability for this two models is discussed. In the paper we
then generalize our result and arrive at general expression for energy density
irrespective of the model. The thermodynamical stability for both of the model
and the general case is discussed from this viewpoint. We also arrive at a
condition on the limiting behavior of thermodynamic parameter to validate the
third law of thermodynamics and interpret the general mathematical expression
of integration constant (what we get while integrating energy
conservation equation) physically relating it to number of micro states. The
constraint on the allowed values of the parameters of the models is discussed
which ascertains stability of universe. The validity of thermodynamical laws

Electromagnetic Probes
A review is presented of dilepton and real photon measurements in
relativistic heavy ion collisions over a very broad energy range from the low
energies of the BEVALAC up to the highest energies available at RHIC. The
dileptons cover the invariant mass range \mll = 0 - 2.5 GeV/c, i.e. the
continuum at low and intermediate masses and the light vector mesons, . The review includes also measurements of the light vector mesons

Observation of a new chi_b state in radiative transitions to Upsilon(1S) and Upsilon(2S) at ATLAS
The chi_b(nP) quarkonium states are produced in proton-proton collisions at
the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV and recorded by the ATLAS
detector. Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.4
fb^-1, these states are reconstructed through their radiative decays to
Upsilon(1S,2S) with Upsilon->mu+mu-. In addition to the mass peaks
corresponding to the decay modes chi_b(1P,2P)->Upsilon(1S)gamma, a new
structure centered at a mass of 10.530+/-0.005 (stat.)+/-0.009 (syst.) GeV is
also observed, in both the Upsilon(1S)gamma and Upsilon(2S)gamma decay modes.

Search for displaced vertices arising from decays of new heavy particles in 7 TeV pp collisions at ATLAS
We present the results of a search for new, heavy particles that decay at a
significant distance from their production point into a final state containing
charged hadrons in association with a high-momentum muon. The search is
conducted in a pp-collision data sample with a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV
and an integrated luminosity of 33 pb^-1 collected in 2010 by the ATLAS
detector operating at the Large Hadron Collider. Production of such particles
is expected in various scenarios of physics beyond the standard model. We
observe no signal and place limits on the production cross-section of
supersymmetric particles in an R-parity-violating scenario as a function of the
neutralino lifetime. Limits are presented for different squark and neutralino
masses, enabling extension of the limits to a variety of other models.Comment: 8 pages plus author list (20 pages total), 8 figures, 1 table, final
