It's a quantitative, descriptive and cross study conducted with the nurse team working in the field of neonatology at the three hospitals, Alfenas-MG. Aimed to describe the forms of pain assessment of the newborn used by nurse team and analyze the practice of nursing as pain management of neonates. Data were collected through a semi-structured formulary, from August to September 2008, of 42 nurses working. The analyze was performed using SPSS software using descriptive statistics and correlation test. It was observed that the respondents recognize that the newborn is capable of feeling pain and evaluated by physiological and behavioral changes and that there isn't pain assessment scales standardized in the institutions. For the management, carry out pharmacological and nonpharmacological interventions. There is need to train professionals contributing to the assessment and management of pain, promoting of holistic care of the neonate. Effect of feed pressure and long-term separation performance of Pebax-ionic liquid membranes for the recovery of difluoromethane (R32) from refrigerant mixture R410A

The R410A refrigerant blend (GWP = 2088), a near azeotropic and equimass mixture of difluoromethane (R32, GWP = 675) and pentafluoroethane (R125, GWP = 3500), has been included in the HFC phase down road map established worldwide. In this context, the recovery of value-added R32 from R410A using membrane technology would be a breakthrough in the refrigeration and air conditioning sector, given that conventional distillation cannot be applied to this separation. For the first time, this work has taken advantage of the combination of ionic liquids and polymeric membranes for the separation of the constituents of the R410A mixture. Results show a remarkable improvement in terms of R32 permeability and R32/R125 selectivity in the composite membranes containing 40 wt % [C2mim][SCN] (αR32/R125 up to 14.5) and [C2mim][BF4] (αR32/R125 up to 11.0) with respect to the neat polymer membranes (αR32/R125 up to 6.9). Besides, the long-term stability was successfully tested for 25 days under high pressure conditions (7 and 12 bar), which makes these composite membranes excellent candidates for the development of membrane-based R32 separation and recovery processes. This research is supported by Project KET4F-Gas – SOE2/P1/P0823, which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of Interreg Sudoe Programme, and Project PID2019-105827RB-I00, Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación (Spain). Realizaram-se entrevistas semiestruturadas durante visita in loco as maternidades. This was a qualitative evaluation study aimed at both shedding light on the challenges and facilitating implementation of Kangaroo Care in Ministry of Health-accredited maternity care facilities in Brazil, from the standpoint of healthcare professionals and administrators and mothers of low birth weight newborns. Semi-structured on-site interviews were conducted at the maternity centers. The study used structural narrative analysis with the data analysis method. Key evaluative focal points identified were the method's importance in neonatal care and institutional support for its sustainability. As for the findings, the theoretical concept of institutional analysis was essential for achieving more in-depth reflection. Despite some resistance, the method is being implemented effectively in maternity care facilities; however, the study shows the need for periodic training and more resource allocation to enable improvement in the service's infrastructure, thereby resulting in more effective humanization of care

Considerations and consequences of allowing DNA sequence data as types of fungal taxa

Nomenclatural type definitions are one of the most important concepts in biological nomenclature. Being physical objects that can be re-studied by other researchers, types permanently link taxonomy (an artificial agreement to classify biological diversity) with nomenclature (an artificial agreement to name biological diversity). Two proposals to amend the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICN), allowing DNA sequences alone (of any region and extent) to serve as types of taxon names for voucherless fungi (mainly putative taxa from environmental DNA sequences), have been submitted to be voted on at the 11th International Mycological Congress (Puerto Rico, July 2018). We consider various genetic processes affecting the distribution of alleles among taxa and find that alleles may not consistently and uniquely represent the species within which they are contained. Should the proposals be accepted, the meaning of nomenclatural types would change in a fundamental way from physical objects as sources of data to the data themselves. Such changes are conducive to irreproducible science, the potential typification on artefactual data, and massive creation of names with low information content, ultimately causing nomenclatural instability and unnecessary work for future researchers that would stall future explorations of fungal diversity. We conclude that the acceptance of DNA sequences alone as types of names of taxa, under the terms used in the current proposals, is unnecessary and would not solve the problem of naming putative taxa known only from DNA sequences in a scientifically defensible way. As an alternative, we highlight the use of formulas for naming putative taxa (candidate taxa) that do not require any modification of the ICN.Peer reviewe
