Crotonaldehyde hydrogenation on Rh/TiO2 catalysts. In situ DRIFTS studies
The surface and catalytic properties in the vapor-phase hydrogenation of crotonaldehyde on Rh/TiO2 has been studied. It was found that a partial reduction of the support produces a surface decoration of the metal component. Thus, interfacial sites are created, which are responsible of an increase in the selectivity to crotyl alcohol, via enhancement of the polarization of the C=O bond. Photoelectron spectra revelead that rhodium is in different oxidation states, with a contribution of ca. 20 % Rhd + and 80 % Rhº species for LTR catalyst and only a slight increase of Rhd + for HTR catalyst. TEM studies revelead that Rh has metal particle size close 3 nm with small increases in the catalyst reduced at high temperature. DRIFTS essayed carried out under reaction conditions allowed to identify crotonaldehyde species strongly adsorbed through the C=C bond and weakly coordinated through both the C=C and C=O bonds. After reduction at 723 K an increase in the peak at 1660 cm-1 ascribed to an interaction between the carbonyl group and the surface, was observed. This peak seems to be stabilized at interfacial Rh/TiOx sites The deactivation in crotyl alcohol formation can be ascribed to the generation of strongly chemisorbed asymmetric carboxylate species detected by band at 1740 cm-1. This band grows at expense of crotonaldehyde O s - bonded intermediate chemisorbed on coordinatively unsaturated sites (Lewis acid sites) responsible of the crotyl alcohol obtaintion (detected by a band at 1653 cm-1). Additionally, a small band at 2068 cm-1 assigned to CO adsorbed on transition metals, which increases with time on-stream may explain the deactivation of the catalysts in flow systems

de imagenología médica como apoyo clínico tanto en
la generación de diagnósticos de un buen número de enfermedades
como en la planeación de tratamientos tendientes a
proporcionar una alternativa de solución a las personas que,
por una u otra razón, manifiestan algún desequilibrio en su
salud. Entre las modalidades imagenológicas que, frecuentemente,
se utilizan en el ámbito médico se pueden mencionar:
Ultrasonido (US), Resonancia Magnética (MRI), Tomografía
Computarizada sencilla (CT) y multicapa (MSCT), Tomografía
Computarizada por Emisión de Positrones (PET) y Tomografía
Computarizada por Emisión de Fotones simples (SPECT).
En este sentido, este artículo tiene como finalidad presentar
una descripción ordenada, coherente y sistemática de cada
una de las mencionadas modalidades y establecer la vinculación
de la MSCT con situaciones clínicas íntimamente relacionadas
con la anatomía cardiaca y procesos de hipertensión.
La razón por la cual se hace énfasis en la MSCT es debido a
que, por una parte, se cuenta con un número importante de
bases de datos tanto de sujetos fisiológicos como de sujetos
patológicos y, por la otra, que se tiene previsto presentar un
conjunto de técnicas computacionales que serán exploradas
en el desarrollo de futuras investigaciones en el contexto de
aspectos anatómico-cardiológicos que influyen directa o indirectamente
en la aparición, desarrollo y prevalencia de procesos
hipertensivos.Nowdays, several forms of medical imaging are usefulness in
clinical support for both diagnostics diseases generation and
treatment planning designed to provide an alternative solution
to people who, for one or another reason, manifest an
imbalance in your health. Among the imaging modalities that
frequently are used in the medical field may include: Ultrasound
(US), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), simple computed
tomography (CT) and multilayer computed tomography
(MSCT), CT positron emission tomography (PET) Computed
tomography and single photon emission (SPECT). In this sense,
this article presents an orderly, coherent and systematic
description of these modalities and it establishes relationship
with the MSCT modality and clinical situations closely related
to cardiac anatomy and hypertension processes. The reason
emphasis on MSCT is done is because, on the one hand, we
have a large number of databases both physiological subjects
and pathological subjects and, on the other, we plan to
present a set of computational techniques that will be explored
in future research, in the context of cardiologic anatomical
aspects, with directly or indirectly influence in the emergence,

Definition of a list of fish diseases to aid health management in Spain
Trabajo presentado en la 14th EAFP International Conference (European Association of Fish Pathologists), celebrada en Praga (República Checa), del 14 al 19 de septiembre de 2009An expert working group used a risk ranking technique to compile a list of fish disease hazards (pathogens) of relevance to Spanish aquaculture. It was possible to divide the list into three groups: I-high national risk; II-regional risk; III-low risk.
The three groups were as follows:
Group I (high risk)
Aphanomyces invadans (EUS)**, spring viraemia of carp virus (SVCV), koi herpes virus (KHV)¿ and infectious haematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV)¿
Group II (regional risk)
Enteromyxum spp. (leei and scophthalmi), Aquabirnaviridae (incl. IPNV), viral encephalopathy and retinopathy virus (VERV), Streptococcus iniae, Philasterides dicentrarchi and Aeromonas salmonicida (in the marine environment).
Group III (low risk)
Sparicotyle chrysophrii/Microcotylidae, Flavobacterium maritimus, Photobacterium piscicida, Togaviridae, Sphaerospora testicularis, Edwardsiella tarda, Birnavirus (no-EVE), Lactococcus garviae, viral haemorrhagic septicaemia virus (VHSV)¿, Tenacibaculum maritimum, epizootic haematopoietic necrosis virus (EHNV)**, Renibacterium salmoninarum (BKD) and Gyrodactylus salaris.
The exercise formed part of a project concerning aquaculture health management (Jacumar-GESAC¿) in Spain and is being used to help define sampling plans for disease monitoring using epidemiological and risk-based criteria.

Anisotropy and chemical composition of ultra-high energy cosmic rays using arrival directions measured by the Pierre Auger Observatory
The Pierre Auger Collaboration has reported evidence for anisotropy in the
distribution of arrival directions of the cosmic rays with energies
eV. These show a correlation with the distribution
of nearby extragalactic objects, including an apparent excess around the
direction of Centaurus A. If the particles responsible for these excesses at
are heavy nuclei with charge , the proton component of the
sources should lead to excesses in the same regions at energies . We here
report the lack of anisotropies in these directions at energies above
(for illustrative values of ). If the anisotropies
above are due to nuclei with charge , and under reasonable
assumptions about the acceleration process, these observations imply stringent
constraints on the allowed proton fraction at the lower energies
Identificação da ixodofauna em animais silvestres resgatados e investigação de agentes patogênicos em área de floresta amazônica degradada no estado de rondônia / Identification of ixodofauna in rescued wild animals and research of pathogens in the amazon forest degraded area in the state of Rondônia
O estado de Rondônia localizado na região norte do Brasil abriga grandes áreas de reservas naturais de floresta Amazônica e é alvo de muitos estudos na área de Ixodologia, apresentando posição de destaque no cenário nacional por abrigar 50% das espécies de carrapatos catalogadas no país. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a fauna ixodídica de animais silvestres de vida livre resgatados durante a inundação no rio Jamari, devido à construção da Pequena Central Hidrelétrica Jamari (10º 53? 7? S e 61º 57? 6? O) localizada no município de Ariquemes no estado de Rondônia, Brasil, bem como investigação da presença de Rickettsias nesses ixodídeos por meio da técnica de reação em cadeia da polimerase (Polymerase Chain Reaction - PCR). Anisotropy studies around the galactic centre at EeV energies with the Auger Observatory
Data from the Pierre Auger Observatory are analyzed to search for
anisotropies near the direction of the Galactic Centre at EeV energies. The
exposure of the surface array in this part of the sky is already significantly
larger than that of the fore-runner experiments. Our results do not support
previous findings of localized excesses in the AGASA and SUGAR data. We set an
upper bound on a point-like flux of cosmic rays arriving from the Galactic
Centre which excludes several scenarios predicting sources of EeV neutrons from
Sagittarius . Also the events detected simultaneously by the surface and
fluorescence detectors (the `hybrid' data set), which have better pointing
accuracy but are less numerous than those of the surface array alone, do not
show any significant localized excess from this direction.Comment: Matches published versio
Social times, reproduction and social inequality at work : contrasts and comparative perspectives between countries
Production of INCASI Project H2020-MSCA-RISE-2015 GA 691004If the focus is placed specifically on the problem of work and family, the daily life of people and their use of time are a main problem. This time is expressed in both freely available time, which is related to activities, and time of the productive and reproductive sphere. This chapter considers work in a broad sense and takes into account the sexual division of labour. Specifically, this chapter will explore transformations in time use and social inequality in unpaid work. For this purpose, a comparative analysis of time-use surveys will be used, analysing the time spent, and the time dedicated to household chores in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Spain. From an analytical viewpoint, the analysis will place social reproduction at the centre of the socio-economic system, showing that the economic crisis has affected women and men differently, and that in both Europe and Latin America the family pattern is being replaced by a dominant family model of a male provider and a double presence of women. The large-scale incorporation of women into the labour market has emphasised the role that women assume in the domestic sphere perpetuating gender segregation in employment and in domestic and care work
