    Aspectos metodológicos en torno a la identidad femenina en estudiantes de preparatoria abierta

    En la presente ponencia a partir del método biográfico y el relato de vida como su modalidad, se presentan algunos procesos de transformación de la identidad femenina en mujeres que culminaron los estudios del nivel medio superior en la modalidad abierta. Siendo la línea conductora los aspectos asociados directamente con la identidad femenina se puso especial interés en dos variables específicas que tienen un alto contenido de género y por tanto, presentan más posibilidades de desajuste en la identidad construida. Estas variables refieren específicamente al contexto donde se desempeñan los roles típicos: la maternidad y la conyugalidad. Siendo las experiencias personales, su voz, sus vivencias los elementos clave en la construcción de la identidad, se utilizó el método biográfico y el relato de vida para recuperar las experiencias de las mujeres seleccionadas. Estableciendo que no se busca la recuperación exhaustiva de la biografía de ellas, sino que la pretensión es conocer los procesos identitarios que se generan en relación a ciertos momentos o etapas de su vida. Metodológicamente cabe aclarar que existen diversos métodos, conceptos y técnicas asociados al método biográfico que pueden resultar confusos o generar confusión y que además hay otros métodos o técnicas como la investigación etnográfica, los estudio de caso la observación participante, la conversación y la narración, técnicas en las que se conjugan fuentes orales y documentales, por lo anterior, quien realiza la investigación debe tener claridad teórica en la definición de los conceptos mencionados.Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educació

    Two-dimensional carbon-based conductive materials with dynamically controlled asymmetric Dirac cones

    The design of two dimensional graphene-type materials with an anisotropic electron flow direction in the X- and Y-axes opens the door for the development of novel electronic materials with multiple functions in nanoelectronics. In the present work, we have studied the electronic transport properties of a new family of 2D graphene-graphyne hybrids presenting conformationally free phenylethylene subunits. This system ensures two different conductive pathways that are perpendicular to each other: an acene nanoribbon subunit, in the X-axis, with graphene-type conduction, and a free to rotate phenylethylene subunit, in the Y-axis, in which the magnitude of the conduction depends dynamically on the corresponding torsion angle. Our calculations have confirmed that this system presents two different conduction pathways, which are related to the presence of asymmetric Dirac-type cones.     Salsa a base de zarzamora (Rubus fruticosus) como potencial alimento funcional

    La zarzamora (Rubus fruticosus) es una rosácea comestible cultivada en la microrregión de Coyopolan municipio de Ixhuacán de los Reyes, Veracruz, México. Esta fruta es importante en esta localidad ya que es utilizada en la elaboración de una variedad de productos artesanales, entre los que destacan el licor de zarzamora y mermelada. Algunos de estos productos además de ser un aporte económico para los habitantes, proporcionan un beneficio a la salud por sus componentes como los compuestos fenólicos que actúan como antioxidantes naturales. En este sentido el presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo elaborar una salsa como potencial alimento funcional teniendo como ingrediente principal la zarzamora y una variedad local de chile, llamado “tabaquero”; a estas salsas se les evaluó su calidad nutricional, la presencia de microorganismos a través de pruebas como coliformes totales, conteo de bacterias aerobias en placa y conteo de mohos y levaduras en alimentos, posteriormente se cuantificaronlos flavonoides, fenoles y antocianinas totales, así como también su actividad antioxidante. Como resultado se obtuvieron tres tipos de salsa, en las que se determinó que no hay presencia de microorganismos, las pruebas de calidad nutrimental indicaron que tienen buenos valores y respecto a la funcionalidad se observó que, en comparación con el fruto fresco se mantuvo la actividad antioxidante aún después del proceso. Por lo que concluimos que los productos cuentan con valores apropiados para considerarlos como potenciales alimentos funcionales

    Effectiveness of an intervention for improving drug prescription in primary care patients with multimorbidity and polypharmacy:Study protocol of a cluster randomized clinical trial (Multi-PAP project)

    This study was funded by the Fondo de Investigaciones Sanitarias ISCIII (Grant Numbers PI15/00276, PI15/00572, PI15/00996), REDISSEC (Project Numbers RD12/0001/0012, RD16/0001/0005), and the European Regional Development Fund ("A way to build Europe").Background: Multimorbidity is associated with negative effects both on people's health and on healthcare systems. A key problem linked to multimorbidity is polypharmacy, which in turn is associated with increased risk of partly preventable adverse effects, including mortality. The Ariadne principles describe a model of care based on a thorough assessment of diseases, treatments (and potential interactions), clinical status, context and preferences of patients with multimorbidity, with the aim of prioritizing and sharing realistic treatment goals that guide an individualized management. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a complex intervention that implements the Ariadne principles in a population of young-old patients with multimorbidity and polypharmacy. The intervention seeks to improve the appropriateness of prescribing in primary care (PC), as measured by the medication appropriateness index (MAI) score at 6 and 12months, as compared with usual care. Methods/Design: Design:pragmatic cluster randomized clinical trial. Unit of randomization: family physician (FP). Unit of analysis: patient. Scope: PC health centres in three autonomous communities: Aragon, Madrid, and Andalusia (Spain). Population: patients aged 65-74years with multimorbidity (≥3 chronic diseases) and polypharmacy (≥5 drugs prescribed in ≥3months). Sample size: n=400 (200 per study arm). Intervention: complex intervention based on the implementation of the Ariadne principles with two components: (1) FP training and (2) FP-patient interview. Outcomes: MAI score, health services use, quality of life (Euroqol 5D-5L), pharmacotherapy and adherence to treatment (Morisky-Green, Haynes-Sackett), and clinical and socio-demographic variables. Statistical analysis: primary outcome is the difference in MAI score between T0 and T1 and corresponding 95% confidence interval. Adjustment for confounding factors will be performed by multilevel analysis. All analyses will be carried out in accordance with the intention-to-treat principle. Discussion: It is essential to provide evidence concerning interventions on PC patients with polypharmacy and multimorbidity, conducted in the context of routine clinical practice, and involving young-old patients with significant potential for preventing negative health outcomes.     Biology of moderately halophilic aerobic bacteria

    The moderately halophilic heterotrophic aerobic bacteria form a diverse group of microorganisms. The property of halophilism is widespread within the bacterial domain. Bacterial halophiles are abundant in environments such as salt lakes, saline soils, and salted food products. Most species keep their intracellular ionic concentrations at low levels while synthesizing or accumulating organic solutes to provide osmotic equilibrium of the cytoplasm with the surrounding medium. Complex mechanisms of adjustment of the intracellular environments and the properties of the cytoplasmic membrane enable rapid adaptation to changes in the salt concentration of the environment. Approaches to the study of genetic processes have recently been developed for several moderate halophiles, opening the way toward an understanding of haloadaptation at the molecular level. The new information obtained is also expected to contribute to the development of novel biotechnological uses for these organisms

    ATLANTIC EPIPHYTES: a data set of vascular and non-vascular epiphyte plants and lichens from the Atlantic Forest

    Epiphytes are hyper-diverse and one of the frequently undervalued life forms in plant surveys and biodiversity inventories. Epiphytes of the Atlantic Forest, one of the most endangered ecosystems in the world, have high endemism and radiated recently in the Pliocene. We aimed to (1) compile an extensive Atlantic Forest data set on vascular, non-vascular plants (including hemiepiphytes), and lichen epiphyte species occurrence and abundance; (2) describe the epiphyte distribution in the Atlantic Forest, in order to indicate future sampling efforts. Our work presents the first epiphyte data set with information on abundance and occurrence of epiphyte phorophyte species. All data compiled here come from three main sources provided by the authors: published sources (comprising peer-reviewed articles, books, and theses), unpublished data, and herbarium data. We compiled a data set composed of 2,095 species, from 89,270 holo/hemiepiphyte records, in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, recorded from 1824 to early 2018. Most of the records were from qualitative data (occurrence only, 88%), well distributed throughout the Atlantic Forest. For quantitative records, the most common sampling method was individual trees (71%), followed by plot sampling (19%), and transect sampling (10%). Angiosperms (81%) were the most frequently registered group, and Bromeliaceae and Orchidaceae were the families with the greatest number of records (27,272 and 21,945, respectively). Ferns and Lycophytes presented fewer records than Angiosperms, and Polypodiaceae were the most recorded family, and more concentrated in the Southern and Southeastern regions. Data on non-vascular plants and lichens were scarce, with a few disjunct records concentrated in the Northeastern region of the Atlantic Forest. For all non-vascular plant records, Lejeuneaceae, a family of liverworts, was the most recorded family. We hope that our effort to organize scattered epiphyte data help advance the knowledge of epiphyte ecology, as well as our understanding of macroecological and biogeographical patterns in the Atlantic Forest.     The mTORC1-Signaling Pathway and Hepatic Polyribosome Profile Are Enhanced after the Recovery of a Protein Restricted Diet by a Combination of Soy or Black Bean with Corn Protein

    Between 6% and 11% of the world’s population suffers from malnutrition or undernutrition associated with poverty, aging or long-term hospitalization. The present work examined the effect of different types of proteins on the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTORC1)-signaling pathway in: (1) healthy; and (2) protein restricted rats. (1) In total, 200 rats were divided into eight groups and fed one of the following diets: 20% casein (C), soy (S), black bean (B), B + Corn (BCr), Pea (P), spirulina (Sp), sesame (Se) or Corn (Cr). Rats fed C or BCr had the highest body weight gain; rats fed BCr had the highest pS6K1/S6K1 ratio; rats fed B, BCr or P had the highest eIF4G expression; (2) In total, 84 rats were fed 0.5% C for 21 day and protein rehabilitated with different proteins. The S, soy + Corn (SCr) and BCr groups had the highest body weight gain. Rats fed SCr and BCr had the highest eIF4G expression and liver polysome formation. These findings suggest that the quality of the dietary proteins modulate the mTORC1-signaling pathway. In conclusion, the combination of BCr or SCr are the best proteins for dietary protein rehabilitation due to the significant increase in body weight, activation of the mTORC1-signaling pathway in liver and muscle, and liver polysome formation
