The article reviews informational resources on precision and digital agriculture in international cross-disciplinal and sectoral international and local databases. The databases Web of Science, Scopus, AGRIS (by FAO UN) and Engineering infrastructure of Agriculture, Rosinformagrotech, AGROS (by Central Scientific Agricultural Library) with the retrieval requests “Digital agriculture”, “Precision Agriculture” were analyzed. The authors estimated the dynamics of document flows to the AGROS database and confirmed strong growth of volume of local publications on precision agriculture to the level demonstrating technology adoption of precision agriculture. Meanwhile the level of document flow on digital agriculture is at the starting level. Analysis of most frequent publications on the topic showed that there’s no local specialized journals on precision agriculture, most frequently publications appeared in local journals such as “Machinery and equipment for rural areas”, “Soil science and agrochemistry”, “Agricultural machinery and technology”. Predominantly materials were published in specialized foreign journals “Computers and electronics in agriculture” and “Precision agriculture”. Most of the documents were obtained from WOS and Scopus databases, but a lot of them are irrelevant. While searching for foreign documents it makes sense to use all the databases available, but most of the full-size texts in open access are available in the AGRIS database. In the same way AGROS database provide a wide range of full-size texts in the Russian language. Both AGROS and AGRIS databases showed high efficiency of search with most relevant documents in search results since both databases use thesaurus as a linguistic tool

Background: The potential for widespread exposure to agricultural pesticides through drift during application raises concerns about possible health effects to exposed children living in areas of high agricultural activity. Objectives: We evaluated whether residence in a county with greater agricultural activity was associated with risk of developing cancer in children \u3c 15 years of age. Methods: Incidence data for U.S. children 0–14 years of age diagnosed with cancer between 1995 and 2001 were provided by member registries of the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries. We determined percent cropland for each county using agricultural census data, and used the overall study distribution to classify agriculturally intense counties. We estimated odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals for all ages and 5-year age groups for total cancers and selected cancer sites using logistic regression. Results: Our study results showed statistically significant increased risk estimates for many types of childhood cancers associated with residence at diagnosis in counties having a moderate to high level of agricultural activity, with a remarkably consistent dose–response effect seen for counties having ≥ 60% of the total county acreage devoted to farming. Risk for different cancers varied by type of crop. Conclusions: Although interpretation is limited by the ecologic design, in this study we were able to evaluate rarer childhood cancers across a diverse agricultural topography. The findings of this exploratory study support a continued interest in the possible impact of long-term, low-level pesticide exposure in communities located in agriculturally intense areas

The Central Scientific Agricultural Library’s system of the agrarian science information support is examined. The Library strives to make the content available online to the maximum. Most of its information services are offered both in conventional and online formats. For the recent 26 years the Library’s products have been being generated in digital formats and are accessible via the Library’s www-site in a varying degree. The www-site serves as a billboard promoting the Library’s events and activities, as well as the reading environment for the users retrieving information. The system of agrarian researcher awareness-building includes alert informing, current informing, and selective dissemination of information. The main information source is the CSAL collection comprising above 3 millions of depository items. On this basis of information products are generated: bibliographic, abstract and full-text databases, bibliographic and abstract publications, and electronic libraries. The key information product is the AGROS database comprising information on books and articles in 42 languages of the world of the total volume of over 1.95 million records. The database provides efficient identifying and subject-specific search owing to target- developed information retrieval languages: the information retrieval thesaurus in agriculture and foods, RUSMARC format. The authors conclude that agrarian science information support comprises diverse information products; well-developed awareness-building system enables to receive information in print and digital formats, online or in the Library’s physical premises, independently or through librarian’s assistance. Previous epidemiologic studies have suggested that various pregnancy and birth characteristics may be associated with Wilms tumor, a childhood kidney tumor. We evaluated obstetric events and birth characteristics in relation to Wilms tumor using data from a large North American case-control study. Mothers of 521 children with Wilms tumor and 517 controls, frequency matched on child’s age and geographic region, provided information about their labor and delivery history and their children’s birth characteristics through detailed computer assisted telephone interviews. Most obstetric factors were not associated with Wilms tumor, but modest associations were observed for labor induction (OR:1.4, 95% Confidence Interval (CI): 1.1,1.8), prenatal vaginal infection (OR: 1.8, 95% CI:1.2,2.8), and upper respiratory infection (OR: 1.5, 95% CI: 1.0,2.4). Low (4500g) birth weight and preterm delivery (<37 weeks completed gestation) were associated with an elevated risk of Wilms tumor, as was neonatal respiratory problems. The association for high birth weight was present only among children with perilobar nephrogenic rests (OR: 2.1, 95% CI: 1.2,3.9), possibly distinguishing a specific association among a biologically distinct subgroup of Wilms tumor cases. The results of this large study did not support many of the earlier findings of smaller studies. However, additional investigations of the effects of certain obstetric and birth characteristics among more refined tumor subgroups may further our understanding of these factors in relation to Wilms tumor

The studies were accomplished at the Central Scientific Agricultural Library (CSAL) to update the industry-wide linguistic instruments used in the Library’s Information Retrieval System and union catalog of the research institutions’ libraries of the Agroindustrial Complex (AIC) of Russia. The set of linguistic tools is briefly described; the two-level model of the linguistic support structure is introduced. The significance and advantages of using information retrieval languages in the Automated Information-Retrieval System are discussed. The purpose of the study was to improve the information support of research in the AIC in terms of actualization of the database (BD) of the Information Retrieval Thesaurus in Agriculture and Food and the database “Authority File (AF) of Scientific Research Institutions (SRI) in the AIC”. Brief descriptions of these information retrieval languages and their functions are included. The functions of the Information-Search Thesaurus are: to index documents and inquiries; to reflect the paradigmatic relations between lexical units; to control and normalize lexis in agriculture and food; to provide unified and formalized information representation in AGROS database; to expand automatically document search profiles; it also functions as a terminological guide in agriculture and food. As the guide, it retrieves the names of institutions since the foundations date; it can be also used for constructing the bibliographic record element (organization’s name. or corporate author); and retrieves information from information resources. The procedures for adding new lexical items and revising the previously included data are described.

A search for the standard model Higgs boson in the H to ZZ to 2l 2nu decay channel, where l = e or mu, in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV is presented. The data were collected at the LHC, with the CMS detector, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 4.6 inverse femtobarns. No significant excess is observed above the background expectation, and upper limits are set on the Higgs boson production cross section. The presence of the standard model Higgs boson with a mass in the 270-440 GeV range is excluded at 95% confidence level.Comment: Submitted to JHE

Search for anomalous t t-bar production in the highly-boosted all-hadronic final state

A search is presented for a massive particle, generically referred to as a Z', decaying into a t t-bar pair. The search focuses on Z' resonances that are sufficiently massive to produce highly Lorentz-boosted top quarks, which yield collimated decay products that are partially or fully merged into single jets. The analysis uses new methods to analyze jet substructure, providing suppression of the non-top multijet backgrounds. The analysis is based on a data sample of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5 inverse femtobarns. Upper limits in the range of 1 pb are set on the product of the production cross section and branching fraction for a topcolor Z' modeled for several widths, as well as for a Randall--Sundrum Kaluza--Klein gluon. In addition, the results constrain any enhancement in t t-bar production beyond expectations of the standard model for t t-bar invariant masses larger than 1 TeV.Comment: Submitted to the Journal of High Energy Physics; this version includes a minor typo correction that will be submitted as an erratu
