Light-Weight Digital Receipt System
The sole purpose of this project is to develop a light-weight digital receipt
system that can counter the short-comings of the conventional digital receipt
system and meet the market expectations desirably. The proposed system
mainly focuses on achieving simpler receipt data extraction, leverage the use
of server to a third party and eliminate as much cost as possible. The
approach proposed is mainly used to counter problems and complications
which are found in existing digital system nowadays. The author believes
that retrieving receipt data must not necessary be done at the server, but
could also be done at the POS system, particularly at the printer point.
Besides, the author's proposed digital receipt will not require any
reconfiguration processes to be done at retailer's POS system, which
retailers will not need to worry for their POS system being modified just to
integrate with digital receipt applications. The author will strive to produce a
digital receipt system that is very cost-effective as compared to the
conventional digital receipt system so that both retailer and customer can
afford to use such as technology

Bridging Web 4.0 and Education 4.0 For Next Generation User Training in ERP Adoption
This study addresses the critical issue of user comprehension and application within the sphere of cloudbased Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, a recurrent challenge exacerbated by the intricate nature of these systems. To bridge the existing gaps in training methodologies, a novel paradigm that synergizes Web 4.0 and Education 4.0 modules with traditional ERP systems is proposed. This innovative framework ushers in a paradigm shift in ERP adoption strategies, promising a marked enhancement in user interaction and efficiency. Rigorous qualitative evaluations, conducted with expert panels and potential end-users, provided robust validation of the framework's transformative potential in the realm of user training for ERP systems. This pioneering approach not only makes a substantial academic contribution by reframing the perception of ERP systems but also holds a significant practical value in ameliorating the user experience with cloud-based ERP systems. In essence, the adoption of a Web 4.0-oriented approach in user training heralds a revolutionary shift in ERP adoption strategies, setting a solid foundation for future explorations in this domain
New genetic loci link adipose and insulin biology to body fat distribution.
Body fat distribution is a heritable trait and a well-established predictor of adverse metabolic outcomes, independent of overall adiposity. To increase our understanding of the genetic basis of body fat distribution and its molecular links to cardiometabolic traits, here we conduct genome-wide association meta-analyses of traits related to waist and hip circumferences in up to 224,459 individuals. We identify 49 loci (33 new) associated with waist-to-hip ratio adjusted for body mass index (BMI), and an additional 19 loci newly associated with related waist and hip circumference measures (P < 5 × 10(-8)). In total, 20 of the 49 waist-to-hip ratio adjusted for BMI loci show significant sexual dimorphism, 19 of which display a stronger effect in women. The identified loci were enriched for genes expressed in adipose tissue and for putative regulatory elements in adipocytes. Pathway analyses implicated adipogenesis, angiogenesis, transcriptional regulation and insulin resistance as processes affecting fat distribution, providing insight into potential pathophysiological mechanisms
Generative AI-Powered Predictive Analytics Model:Leveraging Synthetic Datasets to Determine ERP Adoption Success Through Critical Success Factors
Data scarcity is a significant problem in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) adoption prediction, limiting the accuracy and reliability of traditional predictive models. This study addresses this issue by integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, specifically Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Variational Autoencoders (VAEs), to generate synthetic data that supplements sparse real-world data. A systematic literature review identified critical gaps in existing ERP adoption models, underscoring the need for innovative approaches. The generated synthetic data, validated through comprehensive statistical analyses including mean, variance, skewness, kurtosis, and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, demonstrated high accuracy and reliability, aligning closely with real-world data. A hybrid predictive model was developed, combining Generative AI with Pearson Correlation Coefficient (PCC) and Random Forest techniques. This model was rigorously tested and compared against traditional models such as SVM, Neural Networks, Linear Regression, and Decision Trees. The hybrid model achieved superior performance, with an accuracy of 90%, precision of 88%, recall of 89%, and Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve (AUC-ROC) score of 0.91, significantly outperforming traditional models in predicting ERP adoption outcomes. The research also established continuous monitoring and adaptation mechanisms to ensure the model's long-term effectiveness. The findings provide practical insights for organizations, offering a robust tool for forecasting ERP adoption success and facilitating more informed decision-making and resource allocation. This study not only advances theoretical understanding by addressing data scarcity through synthetic data generation but also provides a practical framework for enhancing ERP adoption strategies<br/
Congenital Membrane Causing Duodenal Obstruction and Malpositioning of the Descending Colon
A congenital membrane without intestinal malrotation is a rare cause of duodenal obstruction. Here we present an 11-year-old girl who had suffered from intermittent abdominal cramping pain and vomiting for more than 5 years. The image studies, including a plain abdomen roentgenogram and sonogram, showed no definite diagnosis. The upper gastrointestinal series and small bowel series showed the contrast was static over the third portion of the duodenum and the descending colon pulled up toward the epigastric area. Laparoscopic exploration revealed a congenital membrane extending from the right-side paraduodenal peritoneum through the third portion of the duodenum to the descending colon, which had caused obstruction of the third portion of the duodenum and malpositioning of the descending colon. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case report in the literature where a congenital membrane caused both duodenal obstruction and malpositioning of the descending colon
Voluntary disclosure of listed companies in Singapore.
This study examines the effect of regulation and selected organizational characteristics on the level of voluntary corporate governance disclosure in annual reports of Singapore listed companies after the introduction of the Code of Corporate Governance (CCG) in March 2001 and its consultation paper in November 200
