Charm Physics at CDF
The study of the charm quark continues to have wide interest as a possible
avenue for the discovery of physics beyond the Standard Model and can as well
be used as a tool for understanding the non-perturbative aspects of the strong
interactions. Owning to the large production cross-section available at the
Tevatron collider and to the flexibility of a trigger on fully hadronic final
states, the CDF experiment, in a decade of successful operations, collected
millions of charmed mesons decays which can be used to investigate the details
of the physics of the production and decay processes of the charm quark. Here
we present a brief collection of new CDF results on this subject.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures, 1 table. Contribution to the proceedings for the

Charm mixing at LHCb
We report a measurement of the time-dependent ratio of to
decay rates in -tagged events using 1.0\,fb of
integrated luminosity recorded by the LHCb experiment. We measure the mixing
parameters , and
the ratio of doubly-Cabibbo-suppressed to Cabibbo-favored decay rates
. The result excludes the no-mixing hypothesis
with a probability corresponding to 9.1 standard deviations and represents the
first observation of charm mixing from a single measurementComment: 5 pages, 6 figures, 2 tables. Proceedings of HCP 201
Phenomenological and Experimental Developments in Charm Physics: The WG7 Report from CKM 2016
We present an overview of recent developments in charm physics reported in
the Working~Group~7 meetings of the CKM 2016 workshop. Progresses in
experimental analysis and techniques were reported by LHCb, Belle, BABAR and
BESIII along with projections for the future. Developments were also reported
in the phenomenological extraction of both direct and indirect CP violation
from data in two-, three- and four-body hadronic decays of the mesonic
system.Comment: 12 pages. WG7 report for CKM 2016. PoS(CKM2016)02
Searching for New Physics through charm at CDF
We report a search for non-Standard Model physics through the measurement of
CP-violating asymmetry in the Cabibbo suppressed D0->pi+pi- and D0->K+K- decays
reconstructed in about 5.94/fb of CDF data. We use the strong D*+->D0pi+ decay
("D* tag") to identify the flavor of the charmed meson at production time and
exploit CP-conserving strong c-cbar pair-production in p-pbar collisions. Large
samples of Cabibbo favored D0->K-pi+ decays with and without D* tag are used to
highly suppress systematic uncertainties due to detector effects. The results
are the world's most precise measurements to date.Comment: 7 pages, 14 figures, 1 table. Proceedings for BEAUTY 201
Measurement of CP–Violating Asymmetries in the D0→π+π− and D0→K+K− Decays at CDF
We report a search for non–Standard Model physics through the measurement of CP–violating asymmetries in the singly–Cabibbo–suppressed D0→π+π− and D0→K+K− decays reconstructed in about 5.9/fb of CDF data. We use the strong D*+→D0π+ decay (“D* tag”) to identify the flavor of the charmed meson at production time and exploit CP–conserving strong c-cbar pair–production in p-pbar collisions. Large samples of Cabibbo–favored D0→K−π+ decays with and without D* tag are used to highly suppress systematic uncertainties due to detector effects. The results are the world’s most precise measurements to date and have been published by Physical Review D in January 2012
Observation of Exclusive Gamma Gamma Production in p pbar Collisions at sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV
We have observed exclusive \gamma\gamma production in proton-antiproton
collisions at \sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV, using data from 1.11 \pm 0.07 fb^{-1}
integrated luminosity taken by the Run II Collider Detector at Fermilab. We
selected events with two electromagnetic showers, each with transverse energy
E_T > 2.5 GeV and pseudorapidity |\eta| < 1.0, with no other particles detected
in -7.4 < \eta < +7.4. The two showers have similar E_T and azimuthal angle
separation \Delta\phi \sim \pi; 34 events have two charged particle tracks,
consistent with the QED process p \bar{p} to p + e^+e^- + \bar{p} by two-photon
exchange, while 43 events have no charged tracks. The number of these events
that are exclusive \pi^0\pi^0 is consistent with zero and is < 15 at 95% C.L.
The cross section for p\bar{p} to p+\gamma\gamma+\bar{p} with |\eta(\gamma)| <
1.0 and E_T(\gamma) > 2.5$ GeV is
2.48^{+0.40}_{-0.35}(stat)^{+0.40}_{-0.51}(syst) pb.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figure
Quantum numbers of the state and orbital angular momentum in its decay
Angular correlations in decays, with , and , are used to measure
orbital angular momentum contributions and to determine the value of
the meson. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 3.0
fb of proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector. This
determination, for the first time performed without assuming a value for the
orbital angular momentum, confirms the quantum numbers to be .
The is found to decay predominantly through S wave and an upper limit
of at C.L. is set on the fraction of D wave.Comment: 16 pages, 4 figure
Combined Forward-Backward Asymmetry Measurements in Top-Antitop Quark Production at the Tevatron
The CDF and D0 experiments at the Fermilab Tevatron have measured the asymmetry between yields of forward- and backward-produced top and antitop quarks based on their rapidity difference and the asymmetry between their decay leptons. These measurements use the full data sets collected in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of TeV. We report the results of combinations of the inclusive asymmetries and their differential dependencies on relevant kinematic quantities. The combined inclusive asymmetry is . The combined inclusive and differential asymmetries are consistent with recent standard model predictions
