Transformational Leadership, Task-Involving Climate, and Their Implications in Male Junior Soccer Players: A Multilevel Approach
Despite the well-known positive consequences of transformational coaches in sport, there is still little research exploring the mechanisms through which coaches’ transformational leadership exerts its impact on athletes. Multilevel SEM was used to examine the relationship between coaches’ transformational leadership style, a task-involving climate, and leadership effectiveness outcome criteria (i.e., players’ extra effort, coach effectiveness, and satisfaction with their coach), separately estimating between and within effects. A representative sample of 625 Spanish male soccer players ranging from 16 to 18 years old and nested in 50 teams completed a questionnaire package tapping the variables of interest. Results confirmed that at the team level, team perceptions of transformational leadership positively predicted teams’ perceptions of task climate, which in turn positively predicted the three outcome criteria. At the individual level, players’ perceptions of transformational leadership positively predicted teams’ perceptions of task climate, which in turn positively predicted teams’ extra effort and coach effectiveness. Mediation effects appeared at the team level for all the outcome criteria, and at the individual only for extra effort. Transformational leadership is recommended to enhance task climate, in order to increase players’ extra effort, their perceptions of the effectiveness of their coach, and their satisfaction with his/her leadership style
Potential market value for portuguese territory : demographics as mobility proxy
Mestrado Bolonha em Econometria Aplicada e PrevisãoIn retail a business location is of extreme importance as it can directly affect profits. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance to be accurate and critical when allocating products and sales personal to a location. This report is the result of the work performed at PSE1 during a curricular internship. PSE is a data science company that offers data science services and market research. They are currently developing a model that segments a region according to its Potential Market Value. This model relies on multiple factors, including human mobility data. The challenge lies in implementing the model to new locations for which they do not yet have accurate human mobility data. This was the focus of the work developed, finding a proxy for human mobility by using demographic data pared with information regarding different types of Points of Interest.
To tackle the issue at hand data mining techniques were used following the CRISP-DM methodology as well as the Tabu Search Algorithm, culminating in the creation of a Potential Market Segmentation Model that can be reproduced for multiple locations and even other companies and retail industries.
The results of the new model exceeded the expectations, and this new approach seems to be quite promising. Although there is a loss of information regarding mobility, there is an increase in the knowledge regarding the consumer profile. It is important to notice that the success of the model is related to the type of product, since the consumption of the product used in this study is highly correlated with the residency area of the consumer which means that loosing information about mobility does not pose a major setback.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Investigating specialized translators: Corpus and documentary sources
This paper describes research carried out through electronic surveys of three
groups of translators working in different areas of expertise (legal, medical and
technical) that aimed to discover their socio-professional profile, their opinions
both on corpora and other documentary sources, and the use they make of
them. Certain characteristic features emerged from the analysis of data on the
three population groups, regarding years of experience, documentary sources
used and most usual clients. For example, even if legal translators seem more
satisfied with the documentary sources available, medical translators never use
translation memories, and technical translators often refer to thesauri. In any
event, regardless of their area of activity, most subjects feel the need for a
specialized corpus combining formal, terminological-lexical, macrostructural
and conceptual aspects, aswell as contextual information. That isthe reasonwhy
the GENTT 3.0 Corpus is believed to meet the expectations and needs of
professional translators.

This paper aims to describe the role of women in FM radios broadcasting in Santiago de Chile. A database was created in order to identify the number of women participating as announcers and to observe, through the categorization of different programs, which is the role they have been given. This is a descriptive analysis that follows the notions of communicational framing of gender, agenda setting and critical feminist analysis. It also relates the underrepresentation of women in radio broadcasting with the masculinization of public spaces and power.
The psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the Sport Climate Questionnaire (S-SCQ) (SDT, Sport Climate Questionnaire, n.d.) were determined from a sample of 301 Spanish high-level competitive athletes (171 men and 130 women) from the Community of Valencia. The S-SCQ assesses athletes' perceptions of coach-provided autonomy support. The assumed uni-dimensional structure of both the long and short versions of the instrument was supported. Both versions also exhibited high reliability (internal consistency). Support for the convergent validity of the scale(s) was also obtained as the measure of coach autonomy support significantly related to the different types of motivation regulations (as assessed via the Sport Motivation Scale; Pelletier et al., 1995), in accordance with theoretical predictions

Temporal evolution of carbon stored in young forest stands: effects of site preparation intensity

It is based on a study of user satisfaction, from 15 years age, of Cascais Municipal Library Network (RBMC), respectively BMC - Casa da Horta (BM1) and BMC - S. Domingos de Rana (BM2), between the 3rd and 17th September 2011. It covers issues relating to the origin and development of the National Network of Public Libraries and the tasks assigned to the Public Library in the Manifesto of UNESCO; the importance of public libraries to the experience of full citizenship by all individuals in the community, for the efforts against info-exclusion and reducing levels of illiteracy and cultural information, by offering facilities and services that enable access to information and knowledge in the context of the challenges and changes that result from the cultural, economic, technological and communicational (World Wide Web) evolution of the information society. This analysis highlights the importance of public libraries having financial and human resources to be able to adapt continuously, with facilities and services, to the demands and needs of their users, regardless of their age, education level or social status, both in formal education and self-education by modernizing the technologies used, the creation and dissemination of informational services and content over the Internet (digital libraries), a greater investment in training human resources and in institutional partnerships (public and / or private), bearing in mind the primary mission of public libraries, defined by the UNESCO Manifesto
