    Eight complete strobilae of Oochoristica phrynocephali Schuster, sp. n. were recovered from small intestines of 4 out of 13 Arabian toad-headed agamas, Phrynocephalus arabicus from Dubai emirate, United Arab Emirates. O. phrynocephali belongs to a group of Oochoristica species possessing circular suckers and fewer than 25 testes in a single cluster. It can be distinguished from O. sobolevi, O. elongata, O. parvogenitalis, O. feliui, O. jonnesi, O. macallisteri, O. lygosomatis, O. junkea and O. novaezealandae by smaller scolices and lesser diameter of suckers.Шесть полных стробил Oochoristica phrynocephali Schuster, sp. n. были обнаружены в кишечнике 4 из 13 исследованных арабских круглоголовок Phrynocephalus arabicus из эмирата Дубаи, Объединённые Арабские Эмираты.     Cloacitrema dubaiensis Schuster, sp. n. is described from four adult specimens found in the cloaca of greater flamingos in Dubai, UAE. It is the first Cloacitrema species found in the Afrotropic ecozone. The new species is medium-sized and slim, with the ventral sucker in equatorial position and the uterus that extends laterally to intestinal caeca. It has oval, unlobed, touching each other testes in parallel to slightly oblique position. C. dubaiensis resembles C. narrabeenensis but differs in body shape, position of acetabulum, size of the seminal vesicle and number of vitelline follicles and their extension lateral to caeca.Cloacitrema dubaiensis Schuster, sp. n. описывается по четырём взрослым экземплярам, обнаруженным в клоаке обыкновенных фламинго в Дубае (ОАЭ). Это первый вид Cloacitrema, найденный в Афротропическом регионе. Новый вид отличается средними размерами, удлинённой формой тела, экваториальным положением вентральной присоски и маткой, простирающейся латерально до ветвей кишечника.     Amplitudes and Spinor-Helicity in Six Dimensions

    The spinor-helicity formalism has become an invaluable tool for understanding the S-matrix of massless particles in four dimensions. In this paper we construct a spinor-helicity formalism in six dimensions, and apply it to derive compact expressions for the three, four and five point tree amplitudes of Yang-Mills theory. Using the KLT relations, it is a straightforward process to obtain amplitudes in linearized gravity from these Yang-Mills amplitudes; we demonstrate this by writing down the gravitational three and four point amplitudes. Because there is no conserved helicity in six dimensions, these amplitudes describe the scattering of all possible polarization states (as well as Kaluza-Klein excitations) in four dimensions upon dimensional reduction.     Epidemiology and outcomes of Clostridium difficile infection in allogeneic hematopoietic cell and lung transplant recipients

    BackgroundClostridium difficile infection (CDI) is a common complication of lung and allogeneic hematopoietic cell (HCT) transplant, but the epidemiology and outcomes of CDI after transplant are poorly described.MethodsWe performed a prospective, multicenter study of CDI within 365 days post‐allogeneic HCT or lung transplantation. Data were collected via patient interviews and medical chart review. Participants were followed weekly in the 12 weeks post‐transplant and while hospitalized and contacted monthly up to 18 months post‐transplantation.ResultsSix sites participated in the study with 614 total participants; 4 enrolled allogeneic HCT (385 participants) and 5 enrolled lung transplant recipients (229 participants). One hundred and fifty CDI cases occurred within 1 year of transplantation; the incidence among lung transplant recipients was 13.1% and among allogeneic HCTs was 31.2%. Median time to CDI was significantly shorter among allogeneic HCT than lung transplant recipients (27 days vs 90 days; P = .037). CDI was associated with significantly higher mortality from 31 to 180 days post‐index date among the allogeneic HCT recipients (Hazard ratio [HR] = 1.80; P = .007).     Mesoscopic Fano Effect in a Quantum Dot Embedded in an Aharonov-Bohm Ring

    The Fano effect, which occurs through the quantum-mechanical cooperation between resonance and interference, can be observed in electron transport through a hybrid system of a quantum dot and an Aharonov-Bohm ring. While a clear correlation appears between the height of the Coulomb peak and the real asymmetric parameter qq for the corresponding Fano lineshape, we need to introduce a complex qq to describe the variation of the lineshape by the magnetic and electrostatic fields. The present analysis demonstrates that the Fano effect with complex asymmetric parameters provides a good probe to detect a quantum-mechanical phase of traversing electrons.Comment: REVTEX, 9 pages including 8 figure

    Hypersurface-Invariant Approach to Cosmological Perturbations

    Using Hamilton-Jacobi theory, we develop a formalism for solving semi-classical cosmological perturbations which does not require an explicit choice of time-hypersurface. The Hamilton-Jacobi equation for gravity interacting with matter (either a scalar or dust field) is solved by making an Ansatz which includes all terms quadratic in the spatial curvature. Gravitational radiation and scalar perturbations are treated on an equal footing. Our technique encompasses linear perturbation theory and it also describes some mild nonlinear effects. As a concrete example of the method, we compute the galaxy-galaxy correlation function as well as large-angle microwave background fluctuations for power-law inflation, and we compare with recent observations.Comment: 51 pages, Latex 2.09 ALBERTA THY/20-94, DAMTP R94/25 To appear in Phys.     Geographical and temporal distribution of SARS-CoV-2 clades in the WHO European Region, January to June 2020

    We show the distribution of SARS-CoV-2 genetic clades over time and between countries and outline potential genomic surveillance objectives. We applied three available genomic nomenclature systems for SARS-CoV-2 to all sequence data from the WHO European Region available during the COVID-19 pandemic until 10 July 2020. We highlight the importance of real-time sequencing and data dissemination in a pandemic situation. We provide a comparison of the nomenclatures and lay a foundation for future European genomic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2.Peer reviewe
