Abstract: This paper presents an artificial neural network based approach for the diagnosis of hepatitis virus. A number of factors that may possibly influence the performance of patients were outlined. Such factors as age, sex, Steroid, Antivirals, Fatigue, Malaise, Anorexia, Liver Big, Liver Firm Splean Palpable, Spiders, Ascites, Varices, Bilirubin, Alk Phosphate, SGOT, Albumin, Protine and Histology, were then used as input variables for the ANN model . Test data evaluation shows that the ANN model is able to correctly predict the diagnosis of more than 93% of prospective Patients

Background: The opening of a related artery in myocardial infarction as quickly as possible is the key to treating infarct. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for recanalization of related infarcted arteries is considered the most effective therapy for myocardial infarction. Objective: To estimate the intracoronary delivery of glycoprotein IIb/IIIa following manual thrombus aspiration on outcomes post PCI for patients with high thrombus burden.Patients and Methods: This was a randomized control trial that was conducted on 48 patients presented to Zagazig University Hospital Emergency Cardiac Unit with ST elevation myocardial infarction for primary percutaneous coronary intervention, the need for reperfusion therapy was assessed according the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Guidelines for the management of acute myocardial infarction in patients presenting with ST-segment elevation. Patients were randomized into three groups: (1) Manual aspiration group (16 patients). (2) Manual aspiration with intracoronary glycoprotein IIb/IIIa group (19 patients), and (3) Intracoronary glycoprotein IIb/IIIa group (13 patients). Results: There was significant difference between manual aspiration group, manual aspiration with intracoronary glycoprotein IIb/IIIa group and intracoronary glycoprotein IIb/IIIa group as regard the outcomes in high thrombus burden patients. Conclusion: Combination glycoprotein IIb/IIIa and manual aspiration is better then single modality for high thrombus burden patients

A rapid and simple single-step method for the purification of Toxoplasma gondii tachyzoites and bradyzoites

This study describes a simple method for the large-scale isolation of pure Toxoplasma gondii tachyzoites and bradyzoites. T. gondii tachyzoites were obtained from infected human foreskin fibroblasts (HFFs) and peritoneal exudates of mice, while tissue cysts containing bradyzoites were collected from chronically infected mice. Harvested cells and brain tissues were incubated in Hanks balanced salt solution (HBSS), containing 0.25% trypsin and 0.5% taurodeoxycholic acid (TDC) for 5 min. Subsequent washes in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) were conducted, and the cell viability of the preparations was good, as determined by flow cytometry and ability to reinfect HFF cells and propagate in mice. The purification procedure allowed for a rapid preparation of pure T. gondii tachyzoites and bradyzoites in sufficient quantity that can be used for downstream procedures. The advantage of the new method is that it is convenient and inexpensive. The National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 31502071), Youth Innovative Talents Project of Guangdong province Education Department (No. 2017KQNCX212), Guangdong province (2017GDK07), Start-up Research Grant Program provided by Foshan University, Foshan city, Guangdong province for distinguished researchers, Guangdong Science and Technology Plan Project (Grant No: 1244060045607389XC), and School of Life Science and Engineering fund (Grant No: KLPREAD201801-02).http://www.wileyonlinelibrary.com/journal/vms3am2021Paraclinical Science

Mortality of emergency abdominal surgery in high-, middle- and low-income countries

Background: Surgical mortality data are collected routinely in high-income countries, yet virtually no low- or middle-income countries have outcome surveillance in place. The aim was prospectively to collect worldwide mortality data following emergency abdominal surgery, comparing findings across countries with a low, middle or high Human Development Index (HDI). Methods: This was a prospective, multicentre, cohort study. Self-selected hospitals performing emergency surgery submitted prespecified data for consecutive patients from at least one 2-week interval during July to December 2014. Postoperative mortality was analysed by hierarchical multivariable logistic regression. Results: Data were obtained for 10 745 patients from 357 centres in 58 countries; 6538 were from high-, 2889 from middle- and 1318 from low-HDI settings. The overall mortality rate was 1â‹…6 per cent at 24 h (high 1â‹…1 per cent, middle 1â‹…9 per cent, low 3â‹…4 per cent; P < 0â‹…001), increasing to 5â‹…4 per cent by 30 days (high 4â‹…5 per cent, middle 6â‹…0 per cent, low 8â‹…6 per cent; P < 0â‹…001). Of the 578 patients who died, 404 (69â‹…9 per cent) did so between 24 h and 30 days following surgery (high 74â‹…2 per cent, middle 68â‹…8 per cent, low 60â‹…5 per cent). After adjustment, 30-day mortality remained higher in middle-income (odds ratio (OR) 2â‹…78, 95 per cent c.i. 1â‹…84 to 4â‹…20) and low-income (OR 2â‹…97, 1â‹…84 to 4â‹…81) countries. Surgical safety checklist use was less frequent in low- and middle-income countries, but when used was associated with reduced mortality at 30 days. Conclusion: Mortality is three times higher in low- compared with high-HDI countries even when adjusted for prognostic factors. Patient safety factors may have an important role. Cancerous tumors are one of the main problems that cause of deaths in pet animals. The objective of this paper is to describe histopathological features of some neoplastic masses with confirmation using immunohistochemistry in pet animals.  Our study was done from May 2022 to August 2023 in Sharkia governorate, Egypt to correctly recognize 7 cases of pet animal neoplasms "5 cases of dogs and 2 queen case" based on histopathological and immunohistochemical findings.  The results revealed 2 cases of TVT in Penis with positive expressions for Iba2 and vimentin  , 1 Case of Sebaceous adenoma in Hock joint of male dog skin, 1 case of hepatoid carcinoma in perianal glands of male dog with positive immunolabelling for CK7  , 1 case of chondroblastic osteosarcoma  in A 4-year old, male, Great Dane dog  and 2 cases of queen with mammary gland adenocarcinoma with positive immunoreactivity for HER-2 and other mixed mammary neoplasm accompanied with sarcoma has positive staining for vimentin. It could be concluded that  the histopathological evaluations by H&E stain is the backbone method for neoplasms diagnosis and  using some  biomarkers added a confirmatory tools for these diagnosis
