Contribución de la inteligencia emocional en la inclusión laboral de personas con diversidad funcional física

56 páginasEn el mundo existen aproximadamente 470 millones de personas con diversidad funcional en edad de trabajar, la mayoría de esta población no tiene la oportunidad de incluirse laboralmente por las limitaciones que presentan, no reciben un trato igualitario y se convierten en un grupo vulnerable presentando dificultades de motivación O’Reilly (2007). En Colombia según Registro de Localización y Caracterización hay 1’404.108 personas con diversidad funcional correspondiente al 2.6% de la población; el 81% se encuentra en estratos 1 y 2 (personas con bajos recursos), tan solo el 20% finaliza la secundaria y el 12% de los que se encuentran en edad productiva tienen acceso al mundo del trabajo. Ministerio de salud y protección social (2018) Este grupo vulnerable en América latina enfrenta situaciones muy exigentes ya que viven en condiciones de pobreza extrema; además de hacer frente a sus limitaciones, deben sobre llevar también su propia condición de salud mental y emocional para sobrepasar los desafíos de inclusión en el mundo (Labrador, 2016; Samaniego, 2006). En esta línea, ser incluido significa integrar a la persona en todos los contextos posibles, desde el personal, pasando por el académico, el laboral el deportivo y el social. Con la inclusión como proceso se trabaja por la igualdad, la participación y el respeto posibilitando un desenvolvimiento integral en todos los contextos (Darmstadter, 2015; Espinoza R y Valderrama, 2016)

La Asociación Colombiana de Infectología (ACIN) y el Instituto de Evaluación de Nuevas Tecnologías de la Salud (IETS) conformó un grupo de trabajo para desarrollar recomendaciones informadas y basadas en evidencia, por consenso de expertos para la atención, diagnóstico y manejo de casos de Covid 19. Global urban environmental change drives adaptation in white clover

Urbanization transforms environments in ways that alter biological evolution. We examined whether urban environmental change drives parallel evolution by sampling 110,019 white clover plants from 6169 populations in 160 cities globally. Plants were assayed for a Mendelian antiherbivore defense that also affects tolerance to abiotic stressors. Urban-rural gradients were associated with the evolution of clines in defense in 47% of cities throughout the world. Variation in the strength of clines was explained by environmental changes in drought stress and vegetation cover that varied among cities. Sequencing 2074 genomes from 26 cities revealed that the evolution of urban-rural clines was best explained by adaptive evolution, but the degree of parallel adaptation varied among cities. Our results demonstrate that urbanization leads to adaptation at a global scale

Heliopsis longipes: anti-arthritic activity evaluated in a Freund's adjuvant-induced model in rodents

This study assesses the anti-arthritic effect of the affinin-enriched (spilanthol, main alkamide) hexane extract from the roots of Heliopsis longipes (A. Gray) S.F. Blake, Asteraceae, on a Freund adjuvant-induced arthritis model in rodents. The extract was orally administered at a dose of 2, 6.6, or 20 mg/kg; a significant edema-inhibitory activity in the acute and chronic phases was observed with a dose of 2 and 20 mg/kg, respectively. The extract showed higher anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic effects than the reference drug phenylbutazone (80 mg/kg). Moreover, the extract prevented the occurrence of secondary lesions associated to this pharmacological model. RP11-362K2.2 : RP11-767I20.1 Genetic Variation Is Associated with Post-Reperfusion Therapy Parenchymal Hematoma. A GWAS Meta-Analysis

Stroke is one of the most common causes of death and disability. Reperfusion therapies are the only treatment available during the acute phase of stroke. Due to recent clinical trials, these therapies may increase their frequency of use by extending the time-window administration, which may lead to an increase in complications such as hemorrhagic transformation, with parenchymal hematoma (PH) being the more severe subtype, associated with higher mortality and disability rates. Our aim was to find genetic risk factors associated with PH, as that could provide molecular targets/pathways for their prevention/treatment and study its genetic correlations to find traits sharing genetic background. We performed a GWAS and meta-analysis, following standard quality controls and association analysis (fastGWAS), adjusting age, NIHSS, and principal components. FUMA was used to annotate, prioritize, visualize, and interpret the meta-analysis results. The total number of patients in the meta-analysis was 2034 (216 cases and 1818 controls). We found rs79770152 having a genome-wide significant association (beta 0.09, p-value 3.90 x 10(-8)) located in the RP11-362K2.2:RP11-767I20.1 gene and a suggestive variant (rs13297983: beta 0.07, p-value 6.10 x 10(-8)) located in PCSK5 associated with PH occurrence. The genetic correlation showed a shared genetic background of PH with Alzheimer's disease and white matter hyperintensities. In addition, genes containing the ten most significant associations have been related to aggregated amyloid-beta, tau protein, white matter microstructure, inflammation, and matrix metalloproteinases.Peer reviewe
