Experiencia para la mejora de habilidades de trabajo en equipo y comunicación escrita en un programa de posgrado

Las competencias no técnicas o soft skills se consideran un factor esencial para el éxito profesional de los egresados universitarios. En este trabajo se presentará una experiencia en la que se combinan dos objetivos: la concienciación sobre los beneficios del trabajo en equipo y la mejora de habilidades de comunicación escrita en un máster oficial de informática. El análisis de los resultados obtenidos durante el desarrollo de esta experiencia confirma su utilidad y revela algunos datos interesantes sobre el desarrollo de estas competencias.Peer Reviewe

The specification IMS Access For All v3.0 and adaptation of LOMPad program is presented. The main objective of the statement is to simplify the task of defining metadata accessibility for learning objects and the preferences and needs of users of these objects, thus an inclusive learning is achieved by attending a standard with the facilities and related advantages. On one side it has developed a repository of learning objects accessible to assist the management and distribution of resources and other LOMPad has become the tool to complete the set of metadata accessibility of the specification. With these tools the authors of content provides the ability to manage learning objects accessible and description metadata accessibility.Se presenta la especificación IMS Access For All v3.0 y la adaptación del programa LOMPad a dicha especificación. El objetivo principal del comunicado es simplificar la labor de definición de los metadatos de accesibilidad para los objetos de aprendizaje, así como las preferencias y necesidades de los usuarios de esos objetos, de esta forma se consigue un proceso de aprendizaje inclusivo atendiendo a un estándar con las facilidades y ventajas relacionadas. Por un lado, se ha desarrollado un repositorio de objetos de aprendizaje accesibles que ayude a la gestión y distribución de sus recursos, y por otro se ha transformado la herramienta LOMPad para poder completar el conjunto de metadatos de accesibilidad de la especificación. Autonomic Management Architecture for Multi-HVAC Systems in Smart Buildings.

This article proposes a self-managing architecture for multi-HVAC systems in buildings, based on the “Autonomous Cycle of Data Analysis Tasks” concept. A multi-HVAC system can be plainly seen as a set of HVAC subsystems, made up of heat pumps, chillers, cooling towers or boilers, among others. Our approach is used for improving the energy consumption, as well as to maintain the indoor comfort, and maximize the equipment performance, by means of identifying and selecting of a possible multi-HVAC system operational mode. The multi-HVAC system operational modes are the different combinations of the HVAC subsystems. The proposed architecture relies on a set of data analysis tasks that exploit the data gathered from the system and the environment to autonomously manage the multi-HVAC system. Some of these tasks analyze the data to obtain the optimal operational mode in a given moment, while others control the active HVAC subsystems. The proposed model is based on standard standard HVAC mathematical models, that are adapted on the fly to the contextual data sensed from the environment. Finally, two case studies, one with heterogeneous and another with homogeneous HVAC equipment, show the generality of the proposed autonomous management architecture for multi-HVAC systems.post-print4413 K

Games-Based Learning Framework

This work presents the authors’ experience in the field of mobile technologies, from which several initiatives have emerged. As result of this, a games-based framework for learning has been developed in these last years. This framework is composed by a competition called Mobigame, which has as main aim to stimulate the participation of the students. By participating in this competition participants learn to develop for mobile devices. A game to practice Japanese is also presented in this article, which was presented in the above mentioned competition. This game has been developed for mobile phones or PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) based on the JME (Java Mobile Edition) technology. Finally, another initiative is also presented: A free download platform of digital contents for mobile devices based on info-educational games

Treatment with tocilizumab or corticosteroids for COVID-19 patients with hyperinflammatory state: a multicentre cohort study (SAM-COVID-19)

Objectives: The objective of this study was to estimate the association between tocilizumab or corticosteroids and the risk of intubation or death in patients with coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) with a hyperinflammatory state according to clinical and laboratory parameters. Methods: A cohort study was performed in 60 Spanish hospitals including 778 patients with COVID-19 and clinical and laboratory data indicative of a hyperinflammatory state. Treatment was mainly with tocilizumab, an intermediate-high dose of corticosteroids (IHDC), a pulse dose of corticosteroids (PDC), combination therapy, or no treatment. Primary outcome was intubation or death; follow-up was 21 days. Propensity score-adjusted estimations using Cox regression (logistic regression if needed) were calculated. Propensity scores were used as confounders, matching variables and for the inverse probability of treatment weights (IPTWs). Results: In all, 88, 117, 78 and 151 patients treated with tocilizumab, IHDC, PDC, and combination therapy, respectively, were compared with 344 untreated patients. The primary endpoint occurred in 10 (11.4%), 27 (23.1%), 12 (15.4%), 40 (25.6%) and 69 (21.1%), respectively. The IPTW-based hazard ratios (odds ratio for combination therapy) for the primary endpoint were 0.32 (95%CI 0.22-0.47; p < 0.001) for tocilizumab, 0.82 (0.71-1.30; p 0.82) for IHDC, 0.61 (0.43-0.86; p 0.006) for PDC, and 1.17 (0.86-1.58; p 0.30) for combination therapy. Other applications of the propensity score provided similar results, but were not significant for PDC. Tocilizumab was also associated with lower hazard of death alone in IPTW analysis (0.07; 0.02-0.17; p < 0.001). Conclusions: Tocilizumab might be useful in COVID-19 patients with a hyperinflammatory state and should be prioritized for randomized trials in this situatio
