Sound recordings of leading professors of Spanish Manufacturing Engineering. Analysis of contents.

ISBN 978-84-09-10387-4"Academic Lives in Industrial Engineering" is one of the different initiatives developed by PATRIF, a Working Group of the Manufacturing Engineering Society (MES) / Sociedad de Ingeniería de Fabricación (SIF). This activity intends to create a sound recording archive with interview format, in order to disseminate the trajectory of the great professors of the Spanish Industrial Engineers Faculties. It seeks to preserve and bring closer to the new generations the experiences and the personality of these professors, with a story told in the first person. This work aims to show the characteristics of this activity, presenting the profile of the interviewees, pointing out the most outstanding aspects of their interventions, carrying out an analysis of the follow-up of the broadcasted interviews and assessing their impact. Despite other areas of engineering are covered in this initiative, present work limit its analysis to the group of professors who have developed their academic and professional life within the Manufacturing Engineering and it also wants to serve as tribute and recognition to their trajectories and dedication to the Spanish Manufacturing Engineering.Universidad de Málaga. En la sociedad preindustrial gran parte de la vida se desarrolla en los espacios públicos, que se convierten en escaparate de las vanidades individuales y colectivas, en punto de encuentro y en lugar de sociabilidad. La propuesta de directiva comunitaria relativa a la aplicación de los derechos de los pacientes en la asistencia sanitaria transfronteriza

La Comisión Europea adoptó el pasado 2 de julio una propuesta de directiva sobre la aplicación de los derechos de los pacientes en materia de asistencia sanitaria transfronteriza. Dicha propuesta forma parte de la Agenda Social Renovada y establece un marco comunitario para la asistencia sanitaria transfronteriza. Este marco se estructura en torno a tres ámbitos diferentes: Los principios comunes a todos los sistemas de salud de la UE, estableciendo qué Estado miembro será responsable de velar por los principios comunes de la asistencia sanitaria y cuáles son sus responsabilidades. Un marco especifico para la asistencia sanitaria transfronteriza: se aclararán los derechos de los pacientes a recibir asistencia sanitaria en otro Estado miembro, incluidos los límites que los Estados miembros pueden imponer a esta asistencia sanitaria en el extranjero, y el nivel de la cobertura financiera prevista para la asistencia sanitaria transfronteriza. La cooperación europea en materia de asistencia sanitaria: colaboración entre los países de la UE en las regiones fronterizas, el reconocimiento de las recetas emitidas en otros países, las redes europeas de referencia, la evaluación de las tecnologías sanitarias, la recopilación de datos, la calidad y la seguridad.The Commission’s proposal for a directive on services in the internal market at the start of 2004 included provisions codifying the rulings of the Court of Justice in applying free movement principles to heath services. Price dynamics, informational efficiency and wealth distribution in continuous double auction markets

This paper studies the properties of the continuous double auction trading mechanishm using an artificial market populated by heterogeneous computational agents. In particular, we investigate how changes in the population of traders and in market microstructure characteristics affect price dynamics, information dissemination and distribution of wealth across agents. In our computer simulated market only a small fraction of the population observe the risky asset's fundamental value with noise, while the rest of agents try to forecast the asset's price from past transaction data. In contrast to other artificial markets, we assume that the risky asset pays no dividend, so agents cannot learn from past transaction prices and subsequent dividend payments. We find that private information can effectively disseminate in the market unless market regulation prevents informed investors from short selling or borrowing the asset, and these investors do not constitute a critical mass. In such case, not only are markets less efficient informationally, but may even experience crashes and bubbles. Finally, increased informational efficiency has a negative impact on informed agents' trading profits and a positive impact on artificial intelligent agents' profits

Density order of Parseval wavelet frames from extension principles

We characterize approximation order and density order of those Parseval wavelet frames obtained from Oblique Extension Principle. These notions are closely related to approximation order and density order by a quasi-projection operator. To give our characterizations, we shall explain the behavior on a neighborhood of the origin of the Fourier transform of a refinable function. In particular, we invoke the classical notion of approximate continuity. We write our results in the multivariate context of Parseval wavelet frames associated to A, an expansive linear map preserving the integer lattice

Beneficios de la gamificación en el aprendizaje de segundas lenguas

Teaching methods have evolved substantially over time, as students’ learning styles and needs nowadays are different from those that students used to have in the past. That is the reason why the integration of technology in the language learning process has been progressively introduced in the classrooms. Mobile Learning and gamification are only some of the most recent trends. Gamification in education refers to the use of game design elements in educational contexts. The aim of this paper is to discuss the benefits derived from gamification in second language learning in the areas of vocabulary and grammar learning, language and soft skills development, and second language assessment. Some of the benefits found in this study include frequent and personalized feedback, development of social learning, and an increased motivation.Los métodos de enseñanza han evolucionado considerablemente a lo largo del tiempo puesto que los estilos de aprendizaje y las necesidades de los estudiantes hoy en día difieren de los que solían tener en el pasado. Éste es el motivo por el cual la integración de la tecnología en el proceso de aprendizaje de lenguas se ha ido llevando a cabo gradualmente en las aulas. El Aprendizaje Móvil y la gamificación son sólo algunas de las tendencias más recientes. La gamificación en educación se refiere al uso de elementos propios del diseño de juegos en contextos educativos. Este artículo tiene como objetivo explorar los beneficios de la gamificación en el aprendizaje de segundas lenguas en las áreas de vocabulario y gramática, desarrollo de destrezas lingüísticas y blandas, y evaluación de la segunda lengua. Algunos de los beneficios observados en esta investigación incluyen la obtención de retroalimentación frecuente y personalizada, el desarrollo de aprendizaje social y el aumento de la motivación
