The urgency of the issue stated in this article is caused by the need for effective educational practice in the effective management mechanisms of professional pedagogical education quality, which consider the specificity of educational process of teachers training and consistency of personal development of the future teacher. The aim of the article is to develop and describe the design principles of management system of personal-oriented pedagogical education quality in higher school. The leading method of study of this problem is the modeling method, which consists in the development and approbation of the local model of quality management system of professional pedagogical education, with due consideration of the individual peculiarities of subjective personality development of the future teacher. The article presents a theoretical analysis of the “education quality” concept on the basis of a synthesis of philosophical, psychological and pedagogical, social and economic approaches, provides rationalization for principles of multilevel monitoring of the educational process mobility in HEI of education, describes a model of professional pedagogical education quality management system and shows the results of its approbation in HEI of education. Materials of the article present practical utility to scientists, which study the questions of professional pedagogical education development, practicing teachers engaged in the training of teachers in higher school, as well as specialists in the sphere of professional education management

Corrosion resistance and susceptibility to intergranular attack of nickel-based alloy VDM ® Alloy C-4 were studied using a variety of standard techniques. The samples for tests were taken in as received conditions, after provocative heating, and after sensitization, and further heat treatment. The corrosion rates for different conditions were determined

KIBRA gene variant is associated with ability in chess and science

The kidney and brain expressed protein (KIBRA) plays an important role in synaptic plasticity. Carriers of the T allele of the KIBRA (WWC1) gene rs17070145 C/T polymorphism have been reported to have enhanced spatial ability and to outperform individuals with the CC genotype in working memory tasks. Since ability in chess and science is directly related to spatial ability and working memory, we hypothesized that the KIBRA T allele would be positively associated with chess player status and PhD status in science. We tested this hypothesis in a study involving 2479 individuals (194 chess players, 119 PhD degree holders in STEM fields, and 2166 controls; 1417 males and 1062 females) from three ethnicities (236 Kazakhs, 1583 Russians, 660 Tatars). We found that frequencies of the T allele were significantly higher in Kazakh (66.9 vs. 55.1%; p = 0.024), Russian (44.8 vs. 32.0%; p = 0.0027), and Tatar (51.5 vs. 41.8%; p = 0.035) chess players compared with ethnically matched controls (meta-analysis for CT/TT vs. CC: OR = 2.05, p = 0.0001). In addition, none of the international chess grandmasters (ranked among the 80 best chess players in the world) were carriers of the CC genotype (0 vs. 46.3%; OR = 16.4, p = 0.005). Furthermore, Russian and Tatar PhD holders had a significantly higher frequency of CT/TT genotypes compared with controls (meta-analysis: OR = 1.71, p = 0.009). Overall, this is the first study to provide comprehensive evidence that the rs17070145 C/T polymorphism of the KIBRA gene may be associated with ability in chess and science, with the T allele exerting a beneficial effect

Athlome Project Consortium: a concerted effort to discover genomic and other "omic" markers of athletic performance.

Despite numerous attempts to discover genetic variants associated with elite athletic performance, injury predisposition, and elite/world-class athletic status, there has been limited progress to date. Past reliance on candidate gene studies predominantly focusing on genotyping a limited number of single nucleotide polymorphisms or the insertion/deletion variants in small, often heterogeneous cohorts (i.e., made up of athletes of quite different sport specialties) have not generated the kind of results that could offer solid opportunities to bridge the gap between basic research in exercise sciences and deliverables in biomedicine. A retrospective view of genetic association studies with complex disease traits indicates that transition to hypothesis-free genome-wide approaches will be more fruitful. In studies of complex disease, it is well recognized that the magnitude of genetic association is often smaller than initially anticipated, and, as such, large sample sizes are required to identify the gene effects robustly. A symposium was held in Athens and on the Greek island of Santorini from 14-17 May 2015 to review the main findings in exercise genetics and genomics and to explore promising trends and possibilities. The symposium also offered a forum for the development of a position stand (the Santorini Declaration). Among the participants, many were involved in ongoing collaborative studies (e.g., ELITE, GAMES, Gene SMART, GENESIS, and POWERGENE). A consensus emerged among participants that it would be advantageous to bring together all current studies and those recently launched into one new large collaborative initiative, which was subsequently named the Athlome Project Consortium

© 2015 by iSER, International Society of Educational Research. The relevance of the research is determined by the complexity that secondary school students experience when they master the regularities of development and existence of technical systems as an important link in the creation of the structured knowledge system, abilities and the correct world perception, and training to search task solutions arising in technical systems. In this regard, the goal of the conducted research is to create approaches in teaching practices that will provide learner involvement in technical systems research and, consequently, will promote conditions for the solution of mathematical inventive problems. The main approach to the training of vocational technical creativity is G.S. Altshuller’s (1956) theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ) that takes a specific place in Russia. Labor-intensiveness and complexity of application of TRIZ in the educational process determined the creation of simplified algorithms of inventive problem solving. . Malkin’s (2012) algorithm of inventive problem solving “Generator of ideas” was selected, which is based on a part of algorithms of inventive problem solving (ARIZ). The pilot study conducted since 2010 has helped to develop an approach to the organization of learners’ activities when working with the algorithm of inventive problem solving. Due to the approach that school students have formulated and solved tasks arising in technical systems, some solutions have been patented and certified by the Federal Service for Intellectual Property. The materials of this paper may be useful for teachers of general and supplementary mathematical education of school students, who are engaged in technical creativity, and for all those who study new opportunities of creative search in the sphere of mathematical apparatus of technical systems
