In recent years the city of Buenos Aires is experiencing unexpected local concern in the defense of their neighborhoods. Facing both building renovation and land use changes that trigger effects that destroy or deform old buildings or certain traditional social spaces, a growing number of neighborhood associations have made urban heritage a subject of intense public interest in local political agendas. On the assumption that these forms of protest are related to previous cases, this article aims to look at the history of these neighborhood associations - central stakeholders in the material and symbolic building of the city of Buenos Aires – in order to understand how different approaches to the use of language and practical actions in the battle over preserving the city have evolved.. This overview was based on secondary sources, complemented with some interviews and meetings with several current neighborhood organizations, allowing us to put online the different discursive and action strategies in order to facilitate participation in the different modes of “building the city”.Fil: González Bracco, María de las Mercedes. Behavior of the giant-dipole resonance in Sn and Pb at high excitation energ
The properties of the giant-dipole resonance (GDR) are calculated as a
function of excitation energy, angular momentum, and the compound nucleus
particle decay width in the nuclei Sn and Pb, and are compared
with recent experimental data. Differences observed in the behavior of the
full-width-at-half-maximum of the GDR for Sn and Pb are
attributed to the fact that shell corrections in Pb are stronger than
in Sn, and favor the spherical shape at low temperatures. The effects
shell corrections have on both the free energy and the moments of inertia are
discussed in detail. At high temperature, the FWHM in Sn exhibits
effects due to the evaporation width of the compound nucleus, while these
effects are predicted for Pb.Comment: 28 pages in RevTeX plus eight postscript figures. Submitted to Nucl.

The Vertex in QCD Sum Rules
The form factor is evaluated in a QCD sum rule calculation for
both and off-shell mesons. We study the double Borel sum rule for
the three point function of two pseudoscalar and one vector meson current. We
find that the momentum dependence of the form factors is different if the
or the meson is off-shell, but they lead to the same coupling constant
in the vertex.Comment: 11 pages, Latex, 4 eps figure
Long lasting differences in civic capital:evidence from a unique immigration event in Italy
A range of evidence exists demonstrating that social capital is associated with a number of important economic outcomes such as economic growth, trade and crime. A recent literature goes further to illustrate how historical events and variation can lead to the development of differing and consequential social norms. This paper examines the related questions of how persistent initial variations in social capital are, and the extent to which immigrant groups do or do not converge to the cultural and social norms of their recipient country by examining a unique and geographically concentrated immigration event in 16th century Italy. We demonstrate that despite the substantial time since migration these communities still display different behavior consistent with higher civic capital than other comparable Italian communities. Moreover, we demonstrate that this difference does not appear to have changed over the last 70 years. For instance, differences in voter turnout apparent in the late 1940s remain in the 21st century. This latter finding has implications for our view of the likelihood of assimilation of immigrant groups to local norms, particularly in cases of large-scale migration
Multiple giant resonances in nuclei: their excitation and decay
The excitation of multiphonon giant resonances with heavy ions is discussed.
The conventional theory, based on the use of the virtual photon number method
in conjunction with the harmonic model is presented and its shortcomings are
discussed. The recently developed model that invoke the Brink-Axel mechanism as
an important contribution to the cross-section is discussed and compared to the
conventional, harmonic model. The decay properties of these multiple giant
resonances are also discussed within the same coherent + fluctuation model in
conjunction with the hybrid decay model. It is demonstrated that the Brink-Axel
mechanism enhances the direct decay of the states, as data seem to require.
Comparison of our model with other recent theoretical works is presented.Comment: 12 pages, four figures, two tables. Invited talk at the International

J/psi D*D* vertex from QCD sum rules
We calculated the strong form factor and coupling constant for the vertex in a QCD sum rule calculation. We performed a double Borel sum
rule for the three point correlation function of vertex considering both
and mesons off--shell. The form factors obtained are very
different, but they give the same coupling constant.Comment: 7 pages and 4 figures, replaced version accepted for publication in

The Effect of Far Right Parties on the Location Choice of Immigrants: Evidence from Lega Nord Mayors
Immigration has increasingly taken centre-stage in the political landscape. Part of this has been rise in far-right, anti-immigration parties in a range of countries. Existing evidence suggests that the presence of immigrants has a substantial effect on the political views of the electorate, generating an advantage to these parties with anti-immigration or nationalist platforms. This paper explores a closely related issue but overlooked issue: how immigrant behavior is influenced by these parties. We focus on immigrant location decisions in Northern Italy which has seen the rise of the anti-immigration party Lega Nord. We construct a dataset of mayoral elections in Italy for the years 2002-2014, and calculate the effect of electing a mayor belonging to, or supported by Lega Nord. To identify this relationship we focus on mayors who have been elected with narrow margins of victory in a Regression Discontinuity framework. The election of Lega Nord mayor discourages immigrants from moving into the municipality
Pentaquark Decay in QCD Sum Rules
In a diquark-diquark-antiquark picture of the pentaquark we study the decay
within the framework of QCD sum rules. After evaluation of
the relevant three-point function, we extract the coupling
which is directly related to the pentaquark width. Restricting the decay
diagrams to those with color exchange between the meson-like and baryon-like
clusters reduces the coupling constant by a factor of four. Whereas a small
decay width might be possible for a positive parity pentaquark, it seems
difficult to explain the measured width for a pentaquark with negative parity.Comment: 14pages, 5 eps figures. Contribution to the proceedings of LC200
QCD sum rule approach for the light scalar mesons as four-quark states
We study the two point-function for the scalar mesons and as diquak-antidiquark states. We also study the decays
of these mesons into , and . We found that the
couplings are consistent with existing experimental data, pointing in favor of
the four-quark structure for the light scalar mesons.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure
Levelized cost of electricity in renewable energy communities: Uncertainty propagation analysis
[EN]Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) are being deployed all around the World as a technically feasible solution to decreasing users' dependence on fossil fuels. Several demonstration facilities have shown their potential to provide final consumers with clean energy and all associated environmental benefits. However, the economic evaluation of these systems as a whole set is more complex than evaluating generation technologies individually, which can be considered a barrier, and it may be more complicated to calculate its uncertainty with precision. This paper deals with this challenge and adapts a model for the evaluation of the global Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) of a polygeneration microgrid to the characteristics of a typical REC, allowing the assessment of the distribution of the LCOE depending on the uncertainty of the input parameters. Thanks to its simple analytical formulation, the proposed model, that can be used for any combination of technologies (both renewable and conventional), provides relevant information on uncertainty propagation in a symbolic way that avoids the need to run numerical simulations or make assumptions on the distribution of the random input parameters. A case study has been presented, considering a typical small electrical REC with photovoltaic plants and micro wind turbines. Although the model can be defined to any market, as a representative example, it has been evaluated according to the current Spanish and Italian regulations, which are analyzed in depth with reference to the scientific literature. Results show that uncertainties in parameter estimates give rise to a very large scatter in the LCOE, pointing out a set of quantities whose role is crucial for a reliable estimate, among which electricity purchase and selling prices, yearly power load, and self-consumption / virtually-shared energy rates stand out.SIPublicación en abierto financiada por el Consorcio de Bibliotecas Universitarias de Castilla y León (BUCLE), con cargo al Programa Operativo 2014ES16RFOP009 FEDER 2014-2020 DE CASTILLA Y LEÓN, Actuación:20007-CL - Apoyo Consorcio BUCL
