    Monografia (graduação)—Universidade de Brasília, Faculdade de Economia, Administração e Contabilidade, Departamento de Administração, 2012.Divulgada, indiscriminadamente, em cursos de pequena duração, a análise técnica atrai cada vez mais investidores amadores para o mercado acionário brasileiro. A facilidade com que esta técnica aparenta mostrar bons resultados encanta os novos entrantes, mas esbarra no crivo da comunidade acadêmica que contesta seus fundamentos e desaconselha seu uso exclusivo. Alguns trabalhos acadêmicos são contrários ao uso da análise técnica, outros são favoráveis. Essa ambiguidade motivou a pesquisa sobre a aleatoriedade presente nas sinalizações de compra e venda de ações, por meio do teste das carreiras de erros e acertos das estratégias baseadas nas médias móveis. As estratégias foram aplicadas às ações Vale PNA, Petrobras PN, Itausa PN, Eletrobrás PNB, B2W Global ON, Embraer ON e Ibovespa. Os dados obtidos possibilitaram concluir que a liquidez das ações influencia no desempenho do indicador e que as médias móveis apresentaram sequencias aleatórias de erros e acertos para maioria das ações que compõem a carteira

    Este artigo analisa a relação entre investimentos em ativos intangíveis e criação de valor das empresas brasileiras de capital aberto no Brasil, medida pelo Q de Tobin. No artigo, aplica-se o system GMM em um painel de dados formado por 208 firmas com ações negociadas na Bolsa de Valores (B3) brasileira no período 2000-2014. Os dados são provenientes da Economática e Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial (INPI). O principal resultado mostra impactos positivos do fluxo de investimento em ativos intangíveis (mas não seu acúmulo) sobre o valor das empresas

    Do we all perceive food-related wellbeing in the same way? : results from a cross-cultural

    Interest in measuring consumers' perceived wellbeing in a food-related context has been growing. Understanding how foods influence consumers' perceived wellbeing can contribute to better understand eating patterns. Culture is expected to largely influence how consumers perceive food-related wellbeing. People in different cultures have different values and are exposed to different socio-economic contexts, which make them likely to consider different criteria when evaluating food-related wellbeing. In this context, the present work aimed at investigating cross-cultural differences in perceived wellbeing of food products using a new scale. A web-based study was carried with 1332 participants in seven countries: Brazil, China, France, Portugal, Spain, Uruguay and USA. A new scale to measure wellbeing in a food-related context was constructed considering results from previous studies and other wellbeing scales. The scale contained 31 statements related to six main dimensions (general, emotional, intellectual, physical, social and spiritual). Six out of nine food concepts (apple, beef, beer, broccoli, chocolate cake, coffee, fish, French fries and milk) were presented to participants following an incomplete balanced design. For each of the concepts participants rated their degree of agreement with the 31 statements using a 7-point scale. The scores of the 31 items of the scale were significantly affected by country and food concept, as well as their interaction. Using factor analysis, the items were grouped into four main factors related to physical, intellectual and emotional aspects of food consumption. The items related to physical aspects showed the greatest differences among products, followed by those related to the intellectual aspects. Average scores of the food concepts in the four factors differed among countries. The largest differences were found for the two emotional related factors. These results provide insight on how consumers perceive different dimensions of wellbeing and stress the influence of cultural differences on the conceptualization of this construct

    The goal of this study was to evaluate the student's ability to deal with problem situations in Pediatric Dentistry. The research universe was consisted by dentistry students enrolled in the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth periods. The data collection instrument was a self-administered quiz with ten problem situations with a Lickert Scale of 1 to 7 points representing levels of self-confidence (in which 1 to 3 represented inadequate skills, 4 not always adequate skills and 5 to 7 appropriate skills). A total of 120 students participated of the study, of which 44 (36.67%) and 76 (63.83%) were male and female, respectively. The results showed that for seven of the ten problem situations presented, the student considered his skill not always adequate, but that he was able to deal with childish behavior half the time that it occurred and that in three the student considered that his skills were adequate and he was able to deal with childish behavior whenever he was observed. No statistically significant difference was observed between the values of the analyzed variables (Mann-Whitney U test, p<0.05). According to the results obtained it was possible to conclude that the student's skills are not always considered adequate in relation to the problem situations in Pediatric Dentistry.Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação)O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a habilidade do aluno frente às situações-problema em Odontopediatria. O universo da pesquisa foi constituído por alunos de Odontologia matriculados no sétimo, oitavo, nono e décimo períodos. O instrumento de coleta de dados foi um questionário auto aplicado com dez situações-problema com uma Escala de Lickert de 1 a 7 pontos representando os níveis de autoconfiança (no qual 1 a 3 representava habilidades inadequadas, 4 habilidades nem sempre adequadas e 5 a 7 habilidades adequadas). Participaram do estudo 120 alunos, sendo 44 (36,67%) e 76 (63,83%) do sexo masculino e feminino, respectivamente. Os resultados mostraram que para sete das dez situações-problema apresentadas, o aluno considerou a sua habilidade nem sempre adequada, mas que se achava capaz de lidar com o comportamento infantil na metade das vezes em que ele ocorria e que em três o aluno considerou que as suas habilidades eram adequadas e que ele era capaz de lidar com o comportamento infantil sempre que ele ocorria. Não foi observada diferença estatisticamente significante entre os valores das variáveis analisadas (Teste de U de Mann-Whitney, p < 0,05). De acordo com os resultados obtidos, foi possível concluir que a habilidade do aluno nem sempre é considerada adequada frente às situações-problema em Odontopediatria

    We present measurements of the branching fractions for the three-body decays B0 -> D(*)-/+ K0 pi^+/-andtheirresonantsubmodes and their resonant submodes B0 -> D(*)-/+ K*+/- using a sample of approximately 88 million BBbar pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric energy storage ring. We measure: B(B0->D-/+ K0 pi+/-)=(4.9 +/- 0.7(stat) +/- 0.5 (syst)) 10^{-4} B(B0->D*-/+ K0 pi+/-)=(3.0 +/- 0.7(stat) +/- 0.3 (syst)) 10^{-4} B(B0->D-/+ K*+/-)=(4.6 +/- 0.6(stat) +/- 0.5 (syst)) 10^{-4} B(B0->D*-/+ K*+/-)=(3.2 +/- 0.6(stat) +/- 0.3 (syst)) 10^{-4} From these measurements we determine the fractions of resonant events to be : f(B0-> D-/+ K*+/-) = 0.63 +/- 0.08(stat) +/- 0.04(syst) f(B0-> D*-/+ K*+/-) = 0.72 +/- 0.14(stat) +/- 0.05(syst)Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures submitted to Phys.     Measurement of the quasi-elastic axial vector mass in neutrino-oxygen interactions

    Get PDF
    The weak nucleon axial-vector form factor for quasi-elastic interactions is determined using neutrino interaction data from the K2K Scintillating Fiber detector in the neutrino beam at KEK. More than 12,000 events are analyzed, of which half are charged-current quasi-elastic interactions nu-mu n to mu- p occurring primarily in oxygen nuclei. We use a relativistic Fermi gas model for oxygen and assume the form factor is approximately a dipole with one parameter, the axial vector mass M_A, and fit to the shape of the distribution of the square of the momentum transfer from the nucleon to the nucleus. Our best fit result for M_A = 1.20 \pm 0.12 GeV. Furthermore, this analysis includes updated vector form factors from recent electron scattering experiments and a discussion of the effects of the nucleon momentum on the shape of the fitted distributions.Comment: 14 pages, 10 figures, 6 table

    Measurement of the B+ --> p pbar K+ Branching Fraction and Study of the Decay Dynamics

    With a sample of 232x10^6 Upsilon(4S) --> BBbar events collected with the BaBar detector, we study the decay B+ --> p pbar K+ excluding charmonium decays to ppbar. We measure a branching fraction Br(B+ --> p pbar K+)=(6.7+/-0.5+/-0.4)x10^{-6}. An enhancement at low ppbar mass is observed and the Dalitz plot asymmetry suggests dominance of the penguin amplitude in this B decay. We search for a pentaquark candidate Theta*++ decaying into pK+ in the mass range 1.43 to 2.00 GeV/c2 and set limits on Br(B+ --> Theta*++pbar)xBr(Theta*++ --> pK+) at the 10^{-7} level.Comment: 8 pages, 7 postscript figures, submitted to Phys. Search for rare quark-annihilation decays, B --> Ds(*) Phi

    Full text link
    We report on searches for B- --> Ds- Phi and B- --> Ds*- Phi. In the context of the Standard Model, these decays are expected to be highly suppressed since they proceed through annihilation of the b and u-bar quarks in the B- meson. Our results are based on 234 million Upsilon(4S) --> B Bbar decays collected with the BABAR detector at SLAC. We find no evidence for these decays, and we set Bayesian 90% confidence level upper limits on the branching fractions BF(B- --> Ds- Phi) Ds*- Phi)<1.2x10^(-5). These results are consistent with Standard Model expectations.Comment: 8 pages, 3 postscript figues, submitted to Phys. Rev. D (Rapid Communications

    Search for the W-exchange decays B0 --> Ds(*)- Ds(*)+

    We report a search for the decays B0DsDs+B^{0} \to D_{s}^{-} D_{s}^{+}, B0DsDs+B^{0} \to D_{s}^{*-} D_{s}^{+}, B0DsDs+B^{0} \to D_{s}^{*-} D_{s}^{*+} in a sample of 232 million Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) decays to \BBb ~pairs collected with the \babar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+ee^+ e^- storage ring. We find no significant signal and set upper bounds for the branching fractions: B(B0DsDs+)<1.0×104,B(B0DsDs+)<1.3×104{\cal B}(B^{0} \to D_{s}^{-} D_{s}^{+}) < 1.0 \times 10^{-4}, {\cal B}(B^{0} \to D_{s}^{*-} D_{s}^{+}) < 1.3 \times 10^{-4} and B(B0DsDs+)<2.4×104{\cal B}(B^{0} \to D_{s}^{*-} D_{s}^{*+}) < 2.4 \times 10^{-4} at 90% confidence level.Comment: 8 pages, 2 figures, submitted to PRD-R
