AbstractElectromyography (EMG) measures muscle response or electrical activity in response to a nerve's stimulation of the muscle. EMG is generally acquired through surface and needle or wire electrodes. The needle or wire electrodes are usually used by clinicians in a clinical setting. This paper concentrates on surface electromyography (sEMG) signal that is acquired in a research laboratory since sEMG is increasingly being recognized as the gold standard for the analysis of muscle activation. The sEMG can utilized for establishing signal signature for forearm muscles that becomes an important input in development of rehabilitative devices. This paper discusses the establishment of sEMG signal signature of female and male subjects for forearm muscles such as extensor carpi radialis, flexor carpi radialis, palmaris longus and pronator teres based on movements such as wrist extension and flexion, hand open and close, and forearm supination and pronation. This was achieved through the use of Butterworth Bessel, Elliptic and Chebyshev filters. The sEMG signal signature could be useful in the development of rehabilitation device of upper extremities

BCT adoption remains to be a promising way to achieve food security and safety in many developing countries. This paper explores the impact of blockchain technology adoption on household farm income. Based on a simple random sampling method, a cross sectional survey was conducted in the year 2023 to collect data from 240 sample farmers including 120 BCT adopters and 120 non-adopters in Erode district of Tamil Nadu. The information regarding socio-economic profiles like age, gender, educational status, farming experience, farm size, extension agency contact, training programmes attended, access to technological information were collected from sample farmers through personal interviews. The present research used a treatment effect analysis with propensity score matching approach to assess the impact of blockchain technology adoption on household’s farm income. Results showed a significant increase in farm income as a result of blockchain technology adoption among sample farmers. PSM approach estimated that the blockchain technology adopters earned higher farm income of ₹25829.16 as compared to non-adopters. Hence the findings provide empirical evidence that blockchain technology adoption in agriculture can contribute to improve quality food production and enhance farm income

The present study was carried out to map the perception of consumers and to identify the factors influencing the consumer buying behaviour towards the food products of FPOs in Tamil Nadu. The results concluded that majority of the respondents purchased jaggery and sugar, cold pressed oil, snacks and millets category from the retail shops of FPOs. The quality and nutrient content were major product traits influencing consumers for purchasing the FPO food products. Most of the consumers felt that the quality and price of the food products were high in FPOs retail stores compared with other retail stores. So, FPOs should target high income people with high purchasing power who appreciate quality. Local people were purchasing the FPOs food products anytime. FPOs can devise effective marketing strategies to attract new customers from local and non-local customers. Most of the people have no awareness about FPOs retail outlets. Therefore, FPOs should pay attention in promoting their products and increasing the retail outlets for attracting the consumers and increasing the sales
