    Fuzzy decision making in complex frameworks with generalized aggregation operators

    [EN] This article presents a new aggregation system applied to fuzzy decision making. The fuzzy generalized unified aggregation operator (FGUAO) is a system that integrates many operators by adding a new aggregation process that considers the relevance that each operator has in the analysis. It also deals with an uncertain environment where the information is studied with fuzzy numbers. A wide range of particular cases and properties are studied. This approach is further extended by using quasi-arithmetic means. The paper ends studying the applicability in decision making problems regarding the European Union decisions. For doing so, the work uses a multi-person aggregation process obtaining the multi-person - FGUAO operator. An example concerning the fixation of the interest rate by the European Central Bank is presented. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V.     Decision making with Dempster-Shafer belief structure and the OWAWA operator

    [EN] A new decision making model that uses the weighted average and the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operator in the Dempster-Shafer belief structure is presented. Thus, we are able to represent the decision making problem considering objective and subjective information and the attitudinal character of the decision maker. For doing so, we use the ordered weighted averaging ¿ weighted average (OWAWA) operator. It is an aggregation operator that unifies the weighted average and the OWA in the same formulation. This approach is generalized by using quasi-arithmetic means and group decision making techniques.     Decision making techniques with similarity measures and OWA operators

    We analyse the use of the ordered weighted average (OWA) in decision-making giving special attention to business and economic decision-making problems. We present several aggregation techniques that are very useful for decision-making such as the Hamming distance, the adequacy coefficient and the index of maximum and minimum level. We suggest a new approach by using immediate weights, that is, by using the weighted average and the OWA operator in the same formulation. We further generalize them by using generalized and quasi-arithmetic means. We also analyse the applicability of the OWA operator in business and economics and we see that we can use it instead of the weighted average. We end the paper with an application in a business multi-person decision-making problem regarding production management

    Fuzzy Systems in Business Valuation

    This research aims to develop a model that is able to integrate and objectify information provided by the different business valuation methods, incorporating quality management in its formal approach, which to date has not been considered in the literature about business valuation or quality management. Firstly, the company is valued using the methods which best adapt to its specific characteristics. Because of the subjectivity inherent in any valuation process, the results will be expressed through Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (TFN). These Fuzzy Numbers will be aggregated and summarized by applying Basic Defuzzification Distribution Uncertain Probabilistic Ordered Weighted Averaging operator (BADD-UPOWA). The weighting factors will be: the degree of confidence in each of the business valuation methods applied, and the innovative use of the company’s position on Crosby’s Quality Administration Grid. The results from application of the model in a case study show a significant reduction in uncertainty in contrast to the initial valuations. Moreover, the proposed methodology is seen to increase the final value of the company as its advances in quality management

    A novel method for interval-value intuitionistic fuzzy multicriteria decision-making problems with immediate probabilities based on OWA distance operators

    The goal of this work is to develop a novel decision-making method which can solve some complex decision problems that include the following three-aspect information: (1) information represented in the form of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy values (IVIFVs) not only intuitionistic fuzzy values (IFVs), (2) the probability information and the weighted information, and (3) the importance degree of each concept in the process of decision-making. Firstly, by integrating OWA operator, probabilistic weight (PW), and individual distance of two IVIFNs in the same formulation, we introduce two new distance operators named PIVIFOWAD operator and IPIVIFOWAD operator, respectively. Secondly, satisfaction degree of an alternative is proposed based on the positive ideal IVIFS and the negative ideal IVIFS and applied to MCDM. Finally, we use an illustrative example to show the feasibility and validity of the new method by comparing with the other existing methods

    OWA operators in the calculation of the average green-house gases emissions

    This study proposes, through weighted averages and ordered weighted averaging operators, a new aggregation system for the investigation of average gases emissions. We present the ordered weighted averaging operators gases emissions, the induced ordered weighted averaging operators gases emissions, the weighted ordered weighted averaging operators gases emissions and the induced probabilistic weighted ordered weighted averaging operators gases emissions. These operators represent a new way of analyzing the average gases emissions of different variables like countries or regions. The work presents further generalizations by using generalized and quasi-arithmetic means.     Decision-making under risk and uncertainty and its application in strategic management

    We introduce a new decision-making model that unifies risk and uncertain environments in the same formulation. For doing so, we present the induced probabilistic ordered weighted averaging (IPOWA) operator. It is an aggregation operator that unifies the probability with the OWA operator in the same formulation and considering the degree of importance of each concept in the aggregation. Moreover, it also uses induced aggregation operators that provide a more general representation of the attitudinal character of the decision-maker. We study its applicability and we see that it is very broad because all the previous studies that use the probability or the OWA operator can be revised and extended with this new approach. We briefly analyze some basic applications in statistics such as the implementation of this approach with the variance, the covariance, the Pearson coefficient and in a simple linear regression model. We focus on a multi-person decision-making problem in strategic management. Thus, we are able to construct a new aggregation operator that we call the multi-person IPOWA operator. Its main advantage is that it can deal with the opinion of several persons in the analysis so we can represent the information in a more complete way

    Determine OWA operator weights using kernel density estimation

    Some subjective methods should divide input values into local clusters before determining the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operator weights based on the data distribution characteristics of input values. However, the process of clustering input values is complex. In this paper, a novel probability density based OWA (PDOWA) operator is put forward based on the data distribution characteristics of input values. To capture the local cluster structures of input values, the kernel density estimation (KDE) is used to estimate the probability density function (PDF), which fits to the input values. The derived PDF contains the density information of input values, which reflects the importance of input values. Therefore, the input values with high probability densities (PDs) should be assigned with large weights, while the ones with low PDs should be assigned with small weights. Afterwards, the desirable properties of the proposed PDOWA operator are investigated. Finally, the proposed PDOWA operator is applied to handle the multicriteria decision making problem concerning the evaluation of smart phones and it is compared with some existing OWA operators. The comparative analysis shows that the proposed PDOWA operator is simpler and more efficient than the existing OWA operator
