Vernier Ring Based Pre-bond Through Silicon Vias Test in 3D ICs

    Get PDF
Defects in TSV will lead to variations in the propagation delay of the net connected to the faulty TSV. A non-invasive Vernier Ring based method for TSV pre-bond testing is proposed to detect resistive open and leakage faults. TSVs are used as capacitive loads of their driving gates, then time interval compared with the fault-free TSVs will be detected. The time interval can be detected with picosecond level resolution, and digitized into a digital code to compare with an expected value of fault-free. Experiments on fault detection are presented through HSPICE simulations using realistic models for a 45 nm CMOS technology. The results show the effectiveness in the detection of time interval 10 ps, resistive open defects 0.2 kΩ above and equivalent leakage resistance less than 18 MΩ. Compared with existing methods, detection precision, area overhead, and test time are effectively improved, furthermore, the fault degree can be digitalized into digital code

BackgroundLung adenocarcinoma with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma is rare and the prognosis is poor, therefore there is an urgent need to improve this situation. The objective of this study was to explore the effect of first-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in the patient of the double primary malignant tumors.Case reportWe report a case of lung adenocarcinoma with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma treated by icotininb after five-year follow-up. A 71-year-old Chinese woman complaining of swallowing obstruction, heartburn, regurgitation of gastric acid for more than 2 months. An esophageal lesion was found by chest CT scans in T7 vertebral level. The diagnosis by gastroscopic biopsy was squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) with EGFR over-expression. Simultaneously, chest CT showed a 2 cm x 1 cm solitary lesion in the right superior pulmonary. The histological diagnosis by percutaneous lung Biopsy was “adenocarcinoma.” Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene mutation status was evaluated by Sanger sequencing, and an exon 21 point mutation (L858R) was identified. When the double primary malignant tumors were diagnosed, the patient refused operation and received a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), icotinib, at the dose of 125 mg, three times per day. All serum tumor biomarkers such as CEA and cancer antigen 125 (CA125) were in the normal range during the treatment period. After five-year follow-up, the patient has no evidence of recurrence or metastasis. The lung cancer was stable, meanwhile the esophageal lesion was almost cured.ConclusionIcotininb is an effective treatment in the patients of the double primary malignant tumors of lung adenocarcinoma with EGFR gene mutation and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma with EGFR over-expression

Response of seasonal soil freeze depth to climate change across China

Abstract. The response of seasonal soil freeze depth to climate change has repercussions for the surface energy and water balance, ecosystems, the carbon cycle, and soil nutrient exchange. Despite its importance, the response of soil freeze depth to climate change is largely unknown. This study employs the Stefan solution and observations from 845 meteorological stations to investigate the response of variations in soil freeze depth to climate change across China. Observations include daily air temperatures, daily soil temperatures at various depths, mean monthly gridded air temperatures, and the normalized difference vegetation index. Results show that soil freeze depth decreased significantly at a rate of −0.18 ± 0.03 cm yr−1, resulting in a net decrease of 8.05 ± 1.5 cm over 1967–2012 across China. On the regional scale, soil freeze depth decreases varied between 0.0 and 0.4 cm yr−1 in most parts of China during 1950–2009. By investigating potential climatic and environmental driving factors of soil freeze depth variability, we find that mean annual air temperature and ground surface temperature, air thawing index, ground surface thawing index, and vegetation growth are all negatively associated with soil freeze depth. Changes in snow depth are not correlated with soil freeze depth. Air and ground surface freezing indices are positively correlated with soil freeze depth. Comparing these potential driving factors of soil freeze depth, we find that freezing index and vegetation growth are more strongly correlated with soil freeze depth, while snow depth is not significant. We conclude that air temperature increases are responsible for the decrease in seasonal freeze depth. These results are important for understanding the soil freeze–thaw dynamics and the impacts of soil freeze depth on ecosystem and hydrological process. </jats:p

The relationship between self-control and mental health problems among Chinese university students

    Get PDF
BackgroundMental health issues are often associated with poor self-control. Therefore, effective interventions against mental health problems should include self-control training. However, it is unclear whether the effect of self-control varies across different types of mental health problems.MethodsA cross-sectional survey was conducted using the convenience sampling method at five universities in Chongqing, China, where 1,409 students reported their demographic information, level of self-control, and symptoms of irritability, depression, and anxiety. Descriptive statistical methods and a network analysis approach were employed to explore the relationship between self-control and symptoms of irritability, depression, and anxiety among 1,409 students. The bridging links between self-control and the three mental health problems were analyzed.ResultsThe findings revealed a negative correlation between self-control and symptoms of irritability, depression, and anxiety among university students. Impulse control was found to be the bridge between self-control and irritability or anxiety symptoms, while resistance to temptation was the bridge between self-control and depressive symptoms.ConclusionThese results demonstrate the different relationship between self-control with irritability, anxiety, and depressive symptoms. The findings of this study may shed light on future mental health interventions for university students during potential public health emergencies, such as prior knowledge of the main types of psychological problems among university students, which may allow for the development of precise self-control intervention strategies, such as targeting impulsivity or resistance to temptation

Metal films containing just a few layers of atoms can be fabricated on substrates using deposition techniques(7), but the production of freestanding ultrathin structures remains a significant challenge. Here we report the facile synthesis of freestanding hexagonal palladium nanosheets that are less than 10 atomic layers thick, using carbon monoxide as a surface confining agent. The as-prepared nanosheets are blue in colour and exhibit a well-defined but tunable surface plasmon resonance peak in the near-infrared region. The combination of photothermal stability and biocompatibility makes palladium nanosheets promising candidates for photothermal therapy. The nanosheets also exhibit electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of formic acid that is 2.5 times greater than that of commercial palladium black catalyst.NSF of China 20925103 20871100 20721001 20703032 MOST of China 2009CB930703 2011CB932403 Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation 121011 NSF of Fujian 2009J06005 Key Scientific Project of Fujian Province 2009HZ0002-

Abstract Introduction Several common alleles have been shown to be associated with breast and/or ovarian cancer risk for BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation carriers. Recent genome-wide association studies of breast cancer have identified eight additional breast cancer susceptibility loci: rs1011970 (9p21, CDKN2A/B), rs10995190 (ZNF365), rs704010 (ZMIZ1), rs2380205 (10p15), rs614367 (11q13), rs1292011 (12q24), rs10771399 (12p11 near PTHLH) and rs865686 (9q31.2). Methods To evaluate whether these single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are associated with breast cancer risk for BRCA1 and BRCA2 carriers, we genotyped these SNPs in 12,599 BRCA1 and 7,132 BRCA2 mutation carriers and analysed the associations with breast cancer risk within a retrospective likelihood framework. Results Only SNP rs10771399 near PTHLH was associated with breast cancer risk for BRCA1 mutation carriers (per-allele hazard ratio (HR) = 0.87, 95% CI: 0.81 to 0.94, P-trend = 3 × 10-4). The association was restricted to mutations proven or predicted to lead to absence of protein expression (HR = 0.82, 95% CI: 0.74 to 0.90, P-trend = 3.1 × 10-5, P-difference = 0.03). Four SNPs were associated with the risk of breast cancer for BRCA2 mutation carriers: rs10995190, P-trend = 0.015; rs1011970, P-trend = 0.048; rs865686, 2df-P = 0.007; rs1292011 2df-P = 0.03. rs10771399 (PTHLH) was predominantly associated with estrogen receptor (ER)-negative breast cancer for BRCA1 mutation carriers (HR = 0.81, 95% CI: 0.74 to 0.90, P-trend = 4 × 10-5) and there was marginal evidence of association with ER-negative breast cancer for BRCA2 mutation carriers (HR = 0.78, 95% CI: 0.62 to 1.00, P-trend = 0.049). Conclusions The present findings, in combination with previously identified modifiers of risk, will ultimately lead to more accurate risk prediction and an improved understanding of the disease etiology in BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation carriers
