Multivariate and wavelet techniques of spontaneous electroencephalography and event related potentials during children maturation: The role of phase resetting

The purpose of this study is to analyze whether the maturation of spontaneous EEG occurs at the same rate as Late Positive Component (LPC) maturation. To that end, the spontaneous EEG rhythms power spectral density (PSD) and the LPC component in a group of children and a group of young adults were obtained and analyzed by means of Spearman’s correlation coefficients, hierarchical clustering, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and topographical analysis. The multivariate analysis revealed a co-maturation of LPC with the delta band. This co-maturation was more evident in the more posterior region. The multivariate analysis results suggest that the maturation of the two components is temporally closely associated. The LPC in both children and young adults was produced by a combination of increase of Event Related Spectral Perturbation (ERSP) and phase resetting in the delta band. It can be suggested that the maturations of delta and LPC are functionally interdependent due to a possible origin of LPC as a delta phase resetting and/or because both processes depend on the same fraction of synaptic pruning

Intestinal occlusion due to mixed hemangioma in greater omentum

Omental tumors are most commonly found in the pediatric population, with hemangiomas being one of the rarest types. These tumors can occur in any organ, with a higher prevalence in the skin and subcutaneous tissue. Although they are extremely rare, omental tumors, including hemangiomas, often involve the greater omentum. We present the case of a 70-year-old male patient that presented to our hospital with abdominal pain, distension, and inability to pass stool. El aprendizaje del Derecho Procesal en los estudios de Grado

El presente trabajo refleja los resultados obtenidos en la red docente titulada “El Aprendizaje del Derecho Procesal en los Estudios de Grado”. En esta Red docente profesoras de Derecho Procesal de la Universidad de Alicante analizan el empleo de una serie de herramientas del Campus Virtual en la enseñanza de diferentes asignaturas de grado y de licenciatura con el objetivo de estudiar las distintas experiencias que generan en los alumnos. Con ello se pretende optimizar las herramientas docentes que funcionan con los alumnos en los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje y descartar aquellas otras de las que no se deriven un resultado adecuado. En definitiva, se pretende reflexionar sobre esta materia apuntada con el objetivo de mejorar el sistema de aprendizaje, potenciar el aprendizaje autónomo del alumno, elaborar instrumentos de evaluación de conocimientos, destrezas y habilidades y detectar las posibles deficiencias que presentan las herramientas docentes del Campus Virtual, realizando en relación con este último extremo una serie de propuestas que permitan mejorarlas en beneficio de toda la comunidad universitaria

Incursionando en el mundo de la investigación: Orientaciones básicas

Este libro pluridisciplinario coliga la teoría con la metodología de investigación. El contenido examina de modo recíproco en dónde se investiga, la hipótesis, los conceptos, el principio de búsqueda y los enfoques cuantitativo y cualitativo. El texto busca ofrecer de manera didáctica conocimientos de investigación que presenta pedagógicamente, partiendo de la situación problemática y siguiendo con el planteamiento del problema, los objetivos, las consultas de pesquisa y la justificación del estudio. Así mismo, se presenta la configuración del marco teórico, la revisión de la literatura y la construcción de una perspectiva teórica. Un libro indispensable para docentes y estudiantes interesados en la investigación y generación de conocimientos sobre la realidad social. Este libro es parte de ese esfuerzo que como investigadores sentimos la necesidad de ofrecer. En él presentamos las herramientas y los saberes suficientes que, gracias a la investigación y el conocimiento científicos, se pueden generar cotidianamente, con los cuales es posible tratar de construir una mejor calidad de vida y darle solución a muchos de los problemas que enfrenta la humanidad

A theoretical study of the Pnma and R3m phases of Sb2S3, Bi2S3, and Sb2Se3

[EN] We report a comparative theoretical study of the Pnma and R3m phases of Sb2S3, Bi2S3, and Sb2Se3 close to ambient pressure. Our enthalpy calculations at 0 K show that at ambient pressure the R3m (tetradymite-like) phase of Sb2Se3 is energetically more stable than the Pnma phase, contrary to what is observed for Sb2S3 and Bi2S3, and irrespective of the exchange-correlation functional employed in the calculations. The result for Sb2Se3 is in contradiction to experiments in which all three compounds are usually grown in the Pnma phase. This result is further confirmed by free-energy calculations taking into account the temperature dependence of unit-cell volumes and phonon frequencies. Lattice dynamics and elastic tensor calculations further show that both the Pnma and R3m phases of Sb2Se3 are dynamically and mechanically stable at zero applied pressure. Since these results suggest that the formation of the R3m phase of Sb2Se3 should be feasible under close to ambient conditions, we provide a theoretical crystal structure and simulated Raman and infrared spectra to help in its identification. We also discuss the results of the two published works that have claimed to have synthesized tetradymite-like Sb2Se3. Restructuring of the "Macaronesia" biogeografic unit: a marine multi-taxon biogeographical approach

The Azores, Madeira, Selvagens, Canary Islands and Cabo Verde are commonly united under the term “Macaronesia”. This study investigates the coherency and validity of Macaronesia as a biogeographic unit using six marine groups with very different dispersal abilities: coastal fishes, echinoderms, gastropod molluscs, brachyuran decapod crustaceans, polychaete annelids, and macroalgae. We found no support for the current concept of Macaronesia as a coherent marine biogeographic unit. All marine groups studied suggest the exclusion of Cabo Verde from the remaining Macaronesian archipelagos and thus, Cabo Verde should be given the status of a biogeographic subprovince within the West African Transition province. We propose to redefine the Lusitanian biogeographical province, in which we include four ecoregions: the South European Atlantic Shelf, the Saharan Upwelling, the Azores, and a new ecoregion herein named Webbnesia, which comprises the archipelagos of Madeira, Selvagens and the Canary Islandsinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Propuesta para diseñar procedimiento de selección de personal en la empresa Sumipinturas del Valle, ubicada en el municipio de Palmira, para desarrollar en el primer semestre del año 2022

Toda empresa se preocupa por el cumplimiento de sus objetivos estratégicos y más aún si en estos se encuentra la responsabilidad y compromiso adquirido de aportar a la transformación económica y social, no solo de sus trabajadores sino también a la ciudad o municipio donde se encuentra ubicada la empresa. Este proyecto de investigación tiene como objeto presentar y elaborar un plan y procedimiento para la mejora en el proceso de contratación y selección de personal para la empresa Sumipinturas del Valle. Se encontró debilidades y falencias en el actual proceso de contratación y selección de personal, ya que la organización no cuenta con un procedimiento determinado, y esto se ha presentado debido al crecimiento, desarrollo y expansión que ha tenido la empresa en los últimos años, lo que a su vez también ha traído nuevos desafíos y retos organizacionales, generando que se tenga que contratar y seleccionar más personal para el desarrollo de los procesos y que estos funcionen adecuadamente. Sin embargo con el afán de cumplir con el proceso de contratación, la empresa ha dejado de lado el correcto y adecuado paso a paso para la contratación y selección de personal, lo que ha empezado a afectarla no solo en la parte económica sino también en la disminución y perdida de los procesos de productividad, ya que el personal seleccionado y contratado no cumplen con el perfil idóneo para el desarrollo del puesto de trabajo y la empresa tampoco tiene un manual descriptivo de funciones definido que contenga descrito y especificado los perfiles por cargo, para apoyar el correcto proceso de selección. En este proyecto de investigación se generará una propuesta de mejora para la elaboración y documentación del procedimiento para la selección y contratación de personal, y se espera que sea de gran ayuda a las estrategias contempladas. Todo dependerá de las posibilidades a las que se enfrentará la empresa en el contexto en el que se encuentra actualmente, pues hay que fortalecer el proceso de talento humano, la selección, la vinculación y la estabilidad de los empleados, pero basándose en las prioridades que se requieren de manera global, las necesidades y expectativas no solo de la empresa sino también de sus trabajadoresEvery company is concerned about the fulfillment of its strategic objectives and even more so if these include the responsibility and commitment acquired to contribute to the economic and social transformation not only of its workers but also of the city or municipality where the company is located. This research project aims to present and develop a plan and procedure for the improvement in the process of selection and hiring of personnel for the company Sumipinturas del Valle. Weaknesses and shortcomings were found in the current selection and hiring process, since the company does not have a specific procedure, and this has occurred due to the development and growth that the company has had in recent years, which in turn, it has also brought new challenges and organizational challenges, generating the need to hire and select more personnel for the execution and development of the processes and for them to function properly. However, in an effort to comply with the hiring process, the company has left aside the correct and adequate step by step for the selection and hiring of personnel, which has begun to affect it not only in the economic part but also in the decrease and loss of productivity processes, since the hired personnel do not meet the ideal profile for the development of the position and the company does not have a defined functions manual that contains described and specified the profiles by position to support the correct selection process. In this research project, an improvement proposal will be generated for the elaboration and documentation of the procedure for the selection and hiring of personnel, and it is expected that it will be of great help to the strategies contemplated. Everything will depend on the possibilities that the company will face in the context in which it currently finds itself, since it is necessary to strengthen the processes of human talent, the selection, the linking and the stability of the employees, but based on the priorities that the needs and expectations are required globally, not only of the company but also of its worker
