My Sister in Data: Visualizing an online relationship

This thesis proposes the exploration and visualization of social media data as a way of understanding human relationships in the age of the internet. The research includes the process of creating visualizations from a dataset composed of archival messages sent between my sister and I on Facebook Messenger between 2010 and 2018. I employ autoethnographic methods to reflect on my exploration of the data, and use research through design methods in order to create interactive data visualizations. This exploration and creation process is guided by the following research questions: 1. In what ways can a visualization of my Facebook message data show how social media is used to maintain a relationship with my sister across changing distances and time? 2. How can data visualization help me learn more about the online connection between my sister and I

Ethics as a factor determing the behavior of buyers

Celem przedstawionej pracy magisterskiej jest analiza zależności między etyką jako czynnikiem determinującym zachowanie nabywców a wiedzą o pojęciu CSR oraz o zrównoważonym rozwoju. Zbadano poziom wiedzy konsumentów o społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu, zrównoważonym rozwoju oraz etyce biznesu, oceniono osobiste postawy konsumentów według podanych stwierdzeń, które pokazują postrzeganie etycznych zachowań na polskim rynku. W badaniu wzięło udział 107 osób mieszkających na terytorium Rzeczypospolitej Polski różnej narodowości. Wysunięto 7 hipotez – 2 z jakich nie zostały potwierdzone przeprowadzonym badaniem. Wybraną metodą badania jest metoda ilościowa przeprowadzona za pomocą techniki CASI. Trzy pierwszych rozdziały są teoretycznymi. Pierwszy rozdział poświęcony czynnikom i modelom zachowań nabywców. Drugi rozdział wprowadza pojęcia zrównoważonego marketingu, CSR, etyki biznesu oraz zrównoważonej konsumpcji. Trzeci rozdział skupia się na metodach i narzędziach badań naukowych. Czwarty rozdział przedstawia wyniki badań oraz wnioski z przeprowadzonych badań własnych.The aim of the presented master's thesis is to analyze the relationship between ethics as a factor determining the behavior of buyers and knowledge about the concept of CSR and sustainable development. The level of consumer knowledge about corporate social responsibility, sustainable development and business ethics was examined, and the personal attitudes of consumers were assessed according to the given statements, which show the perception of ethical behavior on the Polish market. The scientific research involved 107 people living in the territory of the Republic of Poland of various nationalities. 7 hypotheses were put forward - 2 of which were not confirmed by the conducted research. The chosen research method is a quantitative method carried out using the CASI technique. The first three chapters are theoretical. The first chapter is devoted to the factors and models of buyer behavior. The second chapter introduces the concepts of sustainable marketing, CSR, business ethics and sustainable consumption. The third chapter focuses on the methods and tools of scientific research. The fourth chapter presents the results of the research and conclusions from the conducted own research

Typescript (photocopy).A search for superheavy grand unified (GUT) magnetic monopoles has been performed utilizing a large (260m²sr) array of scintillation counters, sited underground at a depth of 1200 m.w.e. This apparatus measures both the time of flight and specific ionization of particles passing through it and has a trigger which is sensitive to prompt as well as very slowly developing pulses from the detector. No monopole events have been observed during 280 days of live time operation of this detector. An upper limit on the flux of monopoles of 4.6 x 10⁻¹⁴cm⁻²sr⁻¹s⁻¹ is obtained in the velocity range 8.5 x 10⁻⁴c to 0.012c at a 90% confidence level
