This study aims at identifying the role that Social Work in Health Care in the process of Advanced Care Planning (hereinafter ACP). For this purpose, a bibliographic review has been carried out whose population study was composed of scientific articles related to ACP, published between 1 Jan. 2009 and 1 Jan. 2019, related to the Social Work aria Health Care discipline. For the selection of articles, descriptors from Medical Subject Heading (MeSH) have been used. The search terms “Social Work” and “Advanced Care Planning” have been used in natural and controlled language. Boolean operators (“y” “and”, in Spanish and English) have also been used. Regarding search platforms and databases, the following have been used: PubMed, Cochrane Library Plus, IME, CSIC, SCOPUS, OvidSPMEDLINE and Google Scholar. As to the results, 14,248 articles were located, from which 1,295 entered the review process of these, only 20 were selected as the rest did not adapt to the selection criteria. Looking at the year of publication, the scientific production for 2016 represented 27.2% of the total. Regarding the type of research, 45.4% were quantitative studies and 90.9% focused their attention on the attitude of Social Work professionals regarding the ACP. With regard to the categories of the reviewed articles, 45.4% referred to training in Social Work in Health Care on Advanced Care Planning ACP. That same percentage referred to the commitment of these professionals with ACP. The current study shows that Social Workers in Health Care have the aptitude and commitment necessary for Advanced Care Planning ACP. However, these professionals require more training. The paper also raises the issue that the topic of a dignified ‘end of life’ process needs to be present in syllabuses for grade and postgraduate education within the Social Work in Health Care discipline

Updating new invasions: The Australian tortoise beetle Trachymela sloanei (Blackburn, 1897) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) in the Iberian Peninsula

    Get PDF
Trachymela sloanei (Blackburn, 1897) is a non-indigenous beetle of the Iberian Peninsula herbivorous of several species of Eucalyptus trees. Since its first detection in Europe in 2014, little information is available about the populations of this beetle in this distribution range. Therefore, a complete chorological update of the Australian tortoise beetle in the Iberian Peninsula is carried out. The ecology, phenology and potential distribution are discussed. Certain features of its morphology are fully illustrated to increase knowledge of this species. Finally, other remarks of interest that could be useful for the future management perspectives of this plague of Eucalyptus in the European continent are commented on briefly

Dynamic mechanical relaxation of poly(2-hydroxyethyl acrylate)-silica nanocomposites obtained by the sol-gel method

[EN] A series of poly(hydroxyethyl acrylate)-silica nanocomposites has been polymerized by the simultaneous sol-gel reaction of the organic monomer and the silica precursor tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). Samples with different silica contents were prepared and their mechanical properties investigated by dynamic mechanical spectroscopy (DMS). The application of the time-temperature superposition principle to the isothermal DMS results in the main relaxation region permits to successfully construct master curves. The calorimetric properties of these hybrid materials have also been measured in order to compare the results of DMS and DSC The presence of a polymer phase formed by polymer chains with reduced mobility has been proved by the DMS results. The main relaxation due to the segmental dynamics of these chains takes place at frequencies around seven decades smaller than in the bulk PHEA homopolymer. This work was supported by the Spanish Science and Technology Ministry through the project CICyT MAT2002-04239-C03-03.

    Get PDF

Periodicity and chaos on a modified Samuelson model

Several discrete time nonlinear growth models with complicated dynamical behavior have been introduced in the literature. In this paper we propuse a modified Samuelson model and we study its dynamical behavior depending on several parameters, which turn out to be the same as the logistic family. Moreover in the base situation the dynamical behavior only depends on the initial values of supply and demand

A Cidadela is, nowadays, one of the most emblematic sites of Galician archaeology. Well-known since the beginnings of XX century, the modern excavations are going to achieve next year their thirtieth anniversary. Even so, there are still several points in its history not entirely resolved: we have not got to understand the reason for a roman military settlement in the region; the chronology of its occupation is, at least, confusing; the research has barely paid attention to the environment of the site; and the Germanic and Early Medieval periods are still plunged in the half-light. It is our aim to throw light on these and other problems based on the work of an interdisciplinary group

    Supersymmetric probes in warped AdS(6)

We consider defects in 5d field theories corresponding to higher-rank generalizations of the ENf+1 theories; holographically dual to the Brandhuber-Oz background in type I’ String Theory. We concentrate on codimension 2 and 1 defects, corresponding, respectively, to 3d and 4d defect Quantum Field Theories. We study holographically such defect theories by considering supersymmetric probe D4- and D6-branes in the AdS6, whose fluctuations allow us to study the spectrum of mesonic operators of the defect theories. In the case of D4-branes, we also consider wrappings in the internal space which can be regarded as generalizations of the configurations capturing the antisymmetric Wilson loopJ. M. P. and A. V.
